Update on the conflict in Ukraine for August 31, 2023: - The Western media is trying to spin Ukrainian gains within the security or “gray zone” ahead of Russia’s first of several defense lines as a “turning point” in the offensive; - Ukraine’s offensive potential has been exhausted with the West struggling to find arms and ammunition to replace Ukrainian losses; - The West is even struggling to pull together large numbers of antiquated and inappropriate equipment like the post-WW2 Leopard 1 tank; - Meanwhile Ukraine continues conducting drone strikes in Russia, achieving questionable PR value and little else; - A recent Ukrainian drone strike on an airport hosting Il-76 strategic airlift aircraft damaged 2. To put that in context, Russia operates over 100 of these aircraft and has production capacity to build up to 12 annually; - Ukraine’s sponsors are unable to sustain the conflict “for as long as it takes,” and only for as long as they have arms and ammunition to supply Ukraine in sufficient quantities; |

The Russian air defense is active in Pskov again.
Seems like that destroying 4 Russian Il-76 was not enough lesson for them to move their planes to Kamchatka. https://twitter.com/Tendar/status/1697357310920638795?s=20 |

Two 🇷🇺Russian helicopters and a plane failed to shoot down the 🇺🇦Ukrainian drone during a long chase
In the video, a Ukrainian UAV flying in the area of Cape Tarkhankut is being chased by two combat helicopters and one plane. Despite continuous fire, the Ukrainian drone left the "battlefield" unscathed and successfully returned to the base. https://twitter.com/front_ukrainian/status/...0669272120?s=20 |

The Russian Army continued to weaken Ukraine's counteroffensive by launching massive attacks on the Donetsk region. While Russian T-80BVM tanks wreaked havoc in South Donetsk region, Buk-M3 air defence systems protected Russian positions from Ukraine's attacks in Krasny Liman direction. The Russian defence ministry said that 675 Ukrainian soldiers were wiped out in the past day as the Army foiled 18 of their attacks. |

Ukraine launched a drone strike near a major nuclear plant in Western Russia. The attack damaged a building located just a few kilometres from Kursk nuclear plant. Russian officials confirmed that there was damage reported to the plant. The Ukrainian drone attacks on Russian cities have significantly increased over the past few weeks. This comes as Ukraine's counteroffensive falters amid ferocious attacks by Russia. Suffering more than 50,000 dead excluding wounded soldiers, losing thousands of equipment since their June 4th offensive, the puppet Banderite regime no longer have the ability to conduct further offensive operation. The corrupt, nefarious 🤡 Zelensky has resorted to more sneaky drone attacks against civilian targets in futile attempt to terrorize Russian citizens. At time same time, /k Banderite supporters insist that the puppet regime is winning. |

Ukrainian military intelligence chief acknowledges large-scale losses among Kiev’s troops
Kirill Budanov pointed out that it would be untruthful to say that it was easy to handle troop losses MOSCOW, September 1. /TASS/. A large number of Ukrainian troops have been killed in combat, Kirill Budanov, head of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry’s Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR), acknowledged. When asked by a reporter from the 1+1 TV channel about how the Ukrainian armed forces were handling troop losses, Budanov pointed out that it would be untruthful to say that it was easy. "The reason is that losses are high," he went on to say, adding that it was a reality that required getting used to. In mid-August, the New York Times reported, citing estimates by Western officials and analysts, that the Ukrainian army’s losses had exceeded 150,000 casualties, including both killed in action (KIA) and wounded in action (WIA), since February 2022. |

Ukraine’s Zelensky wants 160 F-16 fighters from West
"Today we have agreements on 50-60 airplanes," the Ukrainian leader said. MOSCOW, August 31. /TASS/. Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky believes that Kiev needs about 160 F-16 fighter jets. On 30 August, Ukrainian Air Force spokesman Yury Ignat said that 60 F-16s would be enough for the Ukrainian military to carry out combat missions to counter air strikes. At the same time, the country's authorities earlier said they would need 128 F-16s to fully re-arm their air force by replacing Soviet-made fighters with Western ones. "Today we have agreements on 50-60 airplanes," he said in an interview with the Portuguese broadcaster RTP. "They will not be delivered all at once. In all we need around 160 [F-16s] to have a powerful air fleet that would prevent Russia from dominating the skies" and enable Ukraine to maintain air defense and control shipping in the Black Sea. On August 20, Zelensky announced what he described as a "breakthrough agreement" with the Netherlands on the supply of 42 F-16 fighter jets to Kiev. Denmark also said it was ready to provide 19 F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine. The first 6 planes are due to arrive by the end of this year. Denmark and the Netherlands have already announced the training of Ukrainian pilots with assistance from another nine other countries. Dream on... |

Ukraine lists PepsiCo and Mars as international sponsors of war.
FRIDAY, 1 SEPTEMBER 2023, 12:09 National Agency on Corruption Prevention has added American companies PepsiCo and Mars to the list of international war sponsors. 😧 Despite the declaration of reduction of their business, cessation of advertising activities and production of their products, these companies continue to work in Russia, paying taxes and supporting Russia's economy. PepsiCo Thus, the PepsiCo company, which announced the termination of advertising activities and production of beverages in the Russian Federation after the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, resumed the production of "7Up" and "Mirinda" beverages in August 2022 under the "Evervess" and "Frustyle" brands. Later, in March 2023, the production of Pepsi drinks resumed under the brands "Evervess" (higher price segment) and Liubimyi ["Favorite"] (lower price segment). Apart from that, PepsiCo launched a new brand of lemonade called Russkiy Podarok ["Russian Gift"] in the country to replace the discontinued products. PepsiCo continues to manufacture and distribute other products such as crisps, snacks and dairy products. PepsiCo's Lay's chips were found in the food rations of Russian soldiers. Despite PepsiCo's promise to scale back its operations and suspend all advertising in Russia, its careers page lists more than 580 open jobs in the country. Quote from NACP: "Thus, PepsiCo continues to actively support the Russian economy and, accordingly, sponsor the aggression against Ukraine; there were no attempts by the company's management to condemn Russia's attack on Ukraine," the NACP stated. PepsiCo is the largest beverage and food company in the United States by net profit, the second largest globally, and the fourth largest in Russia. PepsiCo continues to work in the Russian Federation with an increase in revenue in 2022 compared to 2021; in particular, the revenue of PEPSICO HOLDINGS LLC for 2022 increased to US$2.59 billion (RUB 176.5 billion), net profit increased by 333% to US$525 million (RUB 37.8 billion), taxes paid to the budget of the Russian Federation for more than US$115 million (RUB 8.29 billion). PepsiCo produces soft drinks, juices, chips, snacks, dairy products and other food products under the main brands Chester's, Chipsy, Lay's, Mirinda, Pasta Roni, Pepsi, Propel, Sandora, 7up, Simba, Snack a Jacks, Sonric's, Tropicana, Agusha, Chudo ["Miracle"], Slovyanochka ["Slavic girl"], Sadochok ["Garden"], Sandoryky, Mashenkay, etc. Mars Mars promised to reduce business in the Russian Federation, but factories continue to operate there with increased revenue in 2022 compared to 2021. In particular, the revenue of MARS LLC for 2022 grew to US$2.45 billion (or RUB 176.5 billion), net profit grew by 59% to US$377 million (or RUB 27.2 billion), taxes were paid to the budget of the Russian Federation for more than US$93 million (or RUB 6.76 billion). In addition, the Russian branch of Mars LLC publishes an announcement on recruiting new personnel (more than 100 current jobs) on the personnel search site. Quote from NACP: "Thus, Mars continues to actively support Russia's economy and, accordingly, sponsor the aggression against Ukraine, there were no attempts to condemn Russia's attack on Ukraine by the company's management," the NACP emphasised. Mars manufactures pet food, chewing gum, beverages, fast food, and canned sauces. The main brands are Mars, Snickers, Milky Way, Twix, Bounty, M&M's, Whiskas, Pedigree, Uncle Benz, and the corporation also owns a series of Wrigley brands. Another futile desperate attempt by the 🤡 puppet regime... Full official list here: https://sanctions.nazk.gov.ua/en/boycott/ |
