Russia has seized a Ukrainian stronghold in Krasny Liman in the Luhansk region. The combat mission was carried out by an assault group of the Russian Army. Several posts of the Ukrainian Army were destroyed by Russian firepower. Moscow's fighter jets and tanks were seen roaring in Luhansk's Krasny Liman. Russia claims the mission was a success because the crew acted quickly after receiving input.
Running short of men, munitions, materiel and war machines; slowly but steadily Zelensky's regime grip on Ukraine is slipping away.

Western Media Faces Ukraine’s Failures: Offensive Grinds on with No Plan-B

Update on the conflict in Ukraine for August 21, 2023:

- As Ukraine’s offensive struggles in its 3rd month to cross the Russian security zone and reach the first of several defensive lines, Russian forces around Kupiansk have begun reversing Ukraine’s territorial gains made in last year’s Ukrainian offensive;

- The Western media citing Western political and military leaders as well as previously optimistic Western analysts now admit how implausible Ukraine’s offensive plans actually were as blame begins to be traded;

- Despite a growing grip on reality, there is still talk about “wonder weapons” changing the tide of the fighting including continued talk about the delivery of US-made F-16 warplanes which face all the difficulties that NATO main battle tanks faced, preventing Ukraine from using them effectively on the battlefield;

- Russia will most likely continue its methodical advance across the battlefield after Ukraine’s offensive fully exhausts itself rather than launching its own “big-arrow” offensive;

So far after close to three months of offensive operations since June with heavy casualties, Zelensky's regime has yet to capture Robotyne...

The Ireland Government has threatened to evict a few Ukrainian refugees if they refuse to pay their own meals. The Ukrainian refugees living at hotels in County Mayo have been directed to start paying for food, laundry and maintenance of their pets. The government directive hasn't gone down well with the refugees, who have now opposed it calling it "discrimination."


Volodymyr Zelensky quipped that Ukraine is ready for "territorial exchange." Zelensky dismissed suggestions that Kyiv might surrender certain territories to Russia. He joked that Ukraine would instead be willing to give up control of the Russian border region of Belgorod, which is repeatedly attacked by Kyiv-aligned forces. The Ukrainian President said this during a joint press conference with the Danish PM. Zelensky looked super pumped up during the press meet after the F-16 aid confirmation.

Russia has once again dashed Ukraine's hopes to break through its defences in Donetsk. The Russian defence ministry claimed that several western vehicles and equipment were blown up during fierce battles in the last 24 hours. It also released a new video of Russian FPV drone blowing up another set of Ukrainian armoured vehicles.


Sweden has turned down Ukraine's request to get Gripen fighter jets amid Russia's war. The Swedish PM announced that the NATO aspirant won't be handing over the fighter jets right now. Ulf Kristersson added that Sweden needs the Gripens for its own defence.
Zelensky thinks that Sweden is a giant IKEA store.

The combat task was accomplished by an assault team aided by T-90 tanks and BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicles.

▫️In Kupyansk direction, the units of the Zapad Group of Forces, supported by Operational-Tactical Aviation and artillery, improved the situation along the front line.

▫️4 attacks by units of 25th airborne, 95th airborne assault and 14th mechanised brigades of the AFU have been repelled close to Sinkovka (Kharkov region) and Novosyolovskoye (Lugansk People's Republic).

▫️1 field ammunition depot of the AFU 103rd Territorial Defence Brigade has been destroyed near Stelmakhovka (Lugansk People's Republic).

▫️In South Donetsk direction, units of the Vostok Group of Forces, supported by Operational-Tactical Aviation and artillery, AFU units have been hit near Staromayorskoye and Urozhaynoye (Donetsk People's Republic).

▫️In Krasny Liman direction, units of the Tsentr Group of Forces, supported by Ground-Attack and Army aviation, repelled 2 enemy attacks near Chervonaya Dibrova (Lugansk People's Republic).

The sale of 96 AH-64E Apache attack helicopters to Poland has been cleared by the U.S. Washington claims the sale will improve Poland’s capability to meet current threats. Warsaw fears that the Wagner troops' triggers from Belarus could spark a conflict. Western experts claim that Russia is preparing for a big anti-NATO move in Belarus. Moscow, on the other hand, states that its preparations in Belarus are defensive in nature.

🔻Fierce fighting continues in Robotyne. The Armed Forces of Ukraine are trying to gain a foothold in the village with the tactics of throwing assault groups. Today, Ukrainian formations began to publish videos from Robotyne, talking about control over the village.

▪️The assault detachments of the 82nd Airborne Brigade were indeed entrenched on the northern outskirts. And from time to time, the Armed Forces of Ukraine try to attack the positions of the RF Armed Forces in the south, but at the moment they are repelling the attacks. Most of the village is in a gray zone, which is hit by artillery and aviation.

▪️The same rolls are noted to the east of Robotyne, where rifle battles are taking place in landings. The regrouping of Ukrainian formations continues in the Vremyevsky sector, accompanied by periodic attacks on the positions of the Russian Armed Forces in the Urozhayne area. The goal of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in this area remains the same - to wear down the defending Russian units and break through the Priyutnoye-Zavetnoye Zhelaniye line.

According to the Warrior of the Far East, Russian troops manage to quickly open enemy rotations in forest plantations south and east of Urozhayne, after which they are fired at. The settlement itself is also systematically attacked.

In the forest belt near Staromayorsky, Russian artillery hit an ammunition depot and concentrations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Due to the high losses in this area, the 253rd Battalion of the Territorial Defense Forces was withdrawn for replenishment, and the 230th Battalion of the 128th Territorial Defense Brigade arrived to replace it.

Destruction of Ukrainian boats in the Black Sea

🔻At around 4 am on August 22, a Su-30SM naval aviation aircraft of the Black Sea Fleet destroyed a boat with a landing group of the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine.

The floating craft was located 38 km west of Cape Tarkhankut. The fact that the landing force got so far from the Ukrainian coast indicates preparations for possible operations in the Crimea.

🔻A couple of hours later, a MiG-29 fighter of the Russian Aerospace Forces destroyed another Willard-class boat, previously delivered to the Ukrainian Navy from the United States.

This Willard was discovered 40 km east of Snake Island. Most likely, he was transporting personnel to one of the empty offshore platforms, which, apparently, the enemy is using for military purposes.

Ukraine reportedly lost over 730 troops and launched 14 failed attacks on Russian troops. The Russian defence ministry stated that intense battles continued around Bakhmut, where paratroopers inflicted fire damage on advancing Ukrainian troops. A footage released by MoD Russia, shows the fighting with grenade launchers and machine guns. In another video, Ukrainian armoured vehicles turned into fireballs as Ka-52 helicopters launched missile strikes on them.
