Stellantis has stopped Bermaz's 5-year free service, replaced with 7-year warranty
New Peugeot vehicles sold by Stellantis Malaysia no longer come with the ‘Peace of mind 5+5’ package. The 5-year warranty and 5-year free service package was offered by previous distributor Bermaz Auto Alliance (BAA).
Effective 29-February 2024, the Peugeot brand in Malaysia will be handled directly by Stellantis themselves.
Instead of the previous 5+5 package, customers will now receive a longer 3+4 years extended warranty, but no free service.
Warranty in the first 3-years will be covered by Stellantis’ factory, while the additional 4-year extension is underwritten by global insurers that Stellantis uses. The terms of coverage are the same so to the paying customer, it's essentially a 7-year warranty, legal semantics aside.
Customers who have previously bought their Peugeot with Bermaz can rest assured that Stellantis will continue to honour the remaining years in their warranty and service contract.
In a separate statement released yesterday, Bermaz said that it is no longer responsible for Peugeot vehicles on the road, and all enquiries should be directed to Stellantis.
“Please be advised that BAA has agreed to transfer the contractual Free Service Maintenance (FSM) program to Stellantis N.V in totality and as such, all future FSM will be carried out through Stellantis N.V appointed network.
“For the more up-to-date information, it’s recommended that customers refer to Stellantis N.V or contact their customer support toll-free number at 1800-18-7852 or email to customersupport.my@stellantis.com for clarification on any specific concerns.”
