it is a MUST for amd platform, and install the stronger ram nearest to the cpu.
*
no bro , install the stronger ram to nearest dimm slot will lower down ur oc smile.gif
hmm...let's explain it with an example

assuming that i've 2 sticks of crucial 10th,
one stick can reach 1300 ( call it as stick A)
another one can reach 1280 ( call it as stick B)

if i put stick A to nearer to cpu area and stick B next to it (forming dual channel)
most probably i will get 1240 like that only

if i put stick B to nearest dimm slot,
i will get roughly around 1260-1270 like that wink.gif

the stronger stick should place at 2nd nearer dimm slot while the weaker one should place at nearest dimm slot in order to get best performance icon_rolleyes.gif

agreed as the stronger stick easier to OC and no need to put nearest to CPU.....  tongue.gif

those hard to OC stick put near CPU lah!  brows.gif

hmm... but the vcore that u pump is a bit high hmm.gif
from my test report, your proc only need 1.21v in order to get 3.1G Pi 1M stable brows.gif

still trying bro...
i know i can boot to windows with 3500... and dun test further... because i need pump a lot vcore to stable it
u can't imaging how hot is my pwm temp when upping vcore to 1.500.. over 100 and shut down =X
i will update any new result as soon as it is fully tested =X
Just hoping new ATI board doesn't that hot...
mind to share how is your pwm temp when u are overclocking or prime?
Gonna change to AX78 when it arrive ... hope it won't fail me..
*
PWM ICs are hot when u pump high vcore
that's common for all mobo laugh.gif
btw, what kinda PWM ICs are use on ur mobo? interfil ICs? or those half opened 1?
don't think ABIT will use interfil PWM ICs hmm.gif
what's ur mobo model adi? i go google search and have a look brows.gif
and what's the estimated price for ur new baby AX78? brows.gif

bro i think brisby is cooler than my windsor~

when u open coretem u know why~

brisby mostly stay around 20++

but my windsor reach about 25-30c smile.gif

@dblooi

free later??

around 12pm to 1pm ( not sure)

i go find u ok~  thumbup.gif
*
brisbane DTS spoil
you will nv know the real temp of a brisbane proc by using software monitoring
when u use a thermometer to test it
you will get totally different answer smile.gif

p/s:later 12pm to 1pm i free
waiting for u brows.gif
can go for lunch if u want laugh.gif

Nvm bro,its my 1st test.Still funding to get WC 1st then pump more and more vcore. thumbup.gif
*
bro, i afraid u gonna be disappointed later sad.gif
max vcore that good air cooling and good water cooling can reach has not much different
good air cooler can support ur proc till 1.6v-1.65v,
with good WC u can reach around 1.65v like that
but definitely the clockspeed won't be following,
due to the heat, though u adi pumped enough vcore,
unless u use ice+water cooling or even greater cooling
then that's different story laugh.gif
From what i know, no one can bench super pi stably at 3.7GHz with normal AC or WC smile.gif

as long as it is not over 70'C it is fine...
but brisbane temp is not correct ... dun go over vcore 1.6 will do...
from my exp in brisbane more vcore doesn't help at all for more oc ... it just won't boot to higher clock with more vcore...

Latest phenom have issue...

this screenie is 3.5g pass 32m superpi..but no pi pic sorry

and look at core0 temp when i never oc...FTW  tongue.gif  tongue.gif
*
why don't u change ur ram timings in bios? brows.gif
with memset, u can't change the cas latency imediately
unless u use the 'save' function , but i don't recommend it
if u save a wrong settings, u gonna be in big trouble laugh.gif
btw, always try to use the latest CPU-Z
and if can , try to prove ur oc result with CPU-Z validation link,
that's a good practise icon_rolleyes.gif

ok thanx..wanna change my asus m2npv-mx...is it worth or not sweat.gif

sorry to say , but low end asus mobo is just piece of s**t laugh.gif
ugly PCB colour , use all chaplang components most of the time and unocable bios on most of their low end mobo

and about TA690G , so far there are few cons that i know

1) voltage drop for the vcore and vdimm (max vdimm can set is 2.65v, but after dropping left 2.6v only sad.gif )
2) vdimm set to 2.3v , real vdimm go back to 1.9v sad.gif
3) clockgen can only be supported when u do some changes in PLL setup (is it one of the cons? laugh.gif)

but to me, they are just some minor bugs. In overall this mobo still damn solid for overclocking brows.gif
