Now already almost 1 year.

I believe that Bank Negara and CIMB Bank are currently imposing stricter regulations. I have never owned a credit card before, nor have I taken out car or housing loans. Currently, I have RM 80,000 fixed deposit in CIMB Bank.

The pledged fixed deposit is only RM 3,000, resulting in a credit limit of RM 3,000.

I am 32 years old. It's worth noting that many individuals under 35 declare bankruptcy due to unpaid credit card debts and high levels of debt in Malaysia.






My CIMB Cash Rebate Platinum credit card, which I applied for in May 2023, currently has a RM3000 fixed deposit pledged to it. If I decide to withdraw the fixed deposit, I must cancel the credit card.

Do you think my new normal credit card, which is not linked to a fixed deposit, will be approved?


I use the CIMB Cash Rebate Platinum Credit Card almost every month and pay it with 1 month.

I heard am bank can know on the spot if they approved onot. BTW pretty uob amoi stop me and plead me to apply like 2 week back. This week received sms say approved. Is like 1 week process nia.

Last few days CIMB called me and offer credit card. I rejected. No benefits that attract me.

If need to apply means low keras customer so they take their sweet time. If offer then hari ini offer semalam dah approved

a few bank i try to online apply their cc, fill half way but dont have the document needed, then i close it. but awhile later they call me to ask me continue fill the form and they will help me apply.

can use this trick to try.

i will avoid using islamic CCespecially if that card serve for oversea usage

last time i carry islamic card swipe hotel accomondation in india ..rejected

but that card if swipe at vege restaurant in india is fine

maybe merchant code issue


now i just use conventional CC for oversea usage only

so in the end just use conventional ..last time still got islamic cc ..cancelled all during MCO

only good thing for cimb cc is

cimb dont even bother increase my credit limit despite they are the one that send sms ask if want to increase limit or not.

Show the sms to staff also no help you?

if too long no feedback, usually rejected

they did make a call to so-called update information. i only mentioned to keep the same information, the only thing i dont manage to give were company phone number, i cant even remember my voip number lel.
its already a month, didnt hear any follow up.

if dont want to give, dont ask to apply la, aiyo.

maybe its just a trick to update information, they dont even want to increase the credit limit in first place.

First bavk call me confirm info i think was scam call

but they wont honor any limit increase unless you are starting giving epf statement to them. last time i request rm500 increase (existing limit: rm5000) on the phone kena reject bulat2, my salary at that time around rm5000.
they know our salary, but they dont want to believe it until we give some supporting document.

I applied for CIMB CC last 3 weeks ago.

The call came in last 2 weeks. It took about 8 business day for them to call back and verify my info.

But I already got maybank to approve. Even tho the current CIMB has nice CC on the world elite card.

But the points only valid for this year for this promo deal. Lazy to keep changing CC

was thinking damn how much overpriced food i gotta eat to reach in next 2 days

but luckily yesterday got someone told me she receive cash from customer for sales, ask me if wanna swipe my CC in exchange for cash
ayam like wtf, this is like god sent, i swipe can reach target , wtffffff now i realize i can deal with this auntie , she didnt even charge me anything just let me take cash because she scared to carry so much cash around (just RM2k je, bukan a lot also)

You want to do fast, then go to their center in klcc la. Cc are different entity then normal cimb banking. Other than klcc, normal branch just don't care about CC

Right after that HSBC gave me a signature, again, no doc required.

CIMB followed up and wanted to offer me a VI as well several days later. I declined. No doc required because my salary account is with CIMB.

Its my first credit card. But my salary account is cimb.I also have business account with them. Maybe that's why fast approval.

CIMB got one express approve one , 1h can get the card . Last time I apply online keep fail , walk in express( klcc ) approve one , 1h can get card dy and they give me higher limit . Funny right even thou both channel pun same cimb .
