My ccris score is low, but I manage to apply CIMB eCC.
Maybe that one easy to approve.

I believe that Bank Negara and CIMB Bank are currently imposing stricter regulations. I have never owned a credit card before, nor have I taken out car or housing loans. Currently, I have RM 80,000 fixed deposit in CIMB Bank.

The pledged fixed deposit is only RM 3,000, resulting in a credit limit of RM 3,000.

I am 32 years old. It's worth noting that many individuals under 35 declare bankruptcy due to unpaid credit card debts and high levels of debt in Malaysia.

Title cimb, mesti-la sotong bank. Depends on which housing loan, not all applicants will get. Heard many also denied by sotong or rimau even hsbc which gives out a lot of houding loans.

Now already almost 1 year.
My CIMB Cash Rebate Platinum credit card, which was applied for in May 2023, now has a RM3000 fixed deposit tied to it.

If I want to withdraw the fixed deposit, I must cancel the credit card.

Do you think my new normal credit card, which is not tied to a fixed deposit, will be approved?

I use the CIMB Cash Rebate Platinum Credit Card almost every month and pay it with 1 month.

I plan to apply for the CIMB PETRONAS Visa Platinum-i.

Can I use the Ctos score to determine rate of success ?
*
if u pledge fd for it, ctos score is irrelevant...

im also like you. Lived a life too clean. Had to pledge FD for cc @ the age of 30 as I never had cc or loans.

After 1 year, I applied and got a regular cc. And then I cancelled the pledged CC (since I can't unlock the FD without cancelling it)

also try to apply for a regular "Classic" or "Gold" credit card. most important is to migrate away from pledged CC for now. if you can get visa platinum-i, then good for you. but you need a plan B

The Petronas card requires a RM 24,000 salary requirement. Both the Gold and Classic cards also require a RM 2,4000 salary requirement, so they should be the same.

You suggest me apply 2 card at the same time?

Nowdays bank simply give out credit card. Hardly need pledge fd, unless you’re those own business self employed and don’t declare tax type of person.

Some people said the pledged credit card will make my ctos score as no record also...

So if i apply other bank, other bank cannot know my cimb bank credit card history....

Better apply cimb bank?

Only get offer if you use that bank for monthly salary crediting. And the threshold is very low, last time my pay only 3.5k, already they paksa me accept the credit card.
Maybe TS is not using CIMB as his salary crediting account.
