Hi hi sifus,

My car has a rather ... unusual problem. I have no idea how (especially since I always have a strict no-food policy), but my car now has cockroaches inside. They're still small, like half cm - 1.5cm long, but every now and then one of them will run out of an air con vent or some hole or other and then I'm like "holy sh*t," grab tissue and try to squash it while avoiding traffic.

So ... what's the best way of getting rid of these pests? Take ridsect and spray everywhere? Put a cockroach trap under the seat?

Help ... I got phobia of roaches some more ... =(

i've heard someone said u may put the pandan leaves..
the smell prevent cockroaches..
dunno how true is it..

But not all ppl can tahan the smell wor...Last time my mom put the pandan leaves in my car i almost vomit

How come got cockroach ? if got means ur car not clean la .. clean ur car 1st ..

Btw few weeks ago i was eating bread in my car...
Bought whole loaf but cant finish...after 1 hour like that i hear some sounds...then i saw the cockroaches already went inside the bread...
So i grab the plastic and throw out...still left like 1/4 of the bread loaf wasted...

knn.. if i saw big cockroach in my car.. i sure fking find a safe place and get out of the car and get rid of that fellow 1st b4 i continue driving ..

The best is to open all your car doors in the morning, just leave it for few hours... I will do this lor.

Park ur car under the hot sun. i used to have a whole family of ants cause i parked under a tree. I left the car in the sun... after a few days they 'migrated'....

wrap the car with plactic bag n leave it for days, suffocate them!!! faster if start engine....

Where do you park the car? Maybe that might be another thing to investigate.

The problem with using those cockroach poison things is that better make sure the cockroach dies in a visible place. Else sekali u drive around with dead cockroaches in your air cond vents.

Then use pandan leaves to force them out... without killing them...

Diy cockroach house.. it work. Does your car always park near drain or rubbish place area?

Connect a hose from ur car exhaust to the inside of ur car....Turn on the engine n let the exhaust for say 1-2 hr (of course make sure u not in the car la during tat time).......this should kill/poison the living cockroaches with carbon monoxide......after tat turn off the engine n air ur car(open windows n doors) for bout half a day b4 using ur car again.

Voila, cockroach dead. No need pandan leaves.

Well my car park place is under lots of trees (but on the road). I can tell you that in the 2 years+ I've had the car, there is not a single time I allow people to eat inside ... andyet kena cockroach?

And same as yewkhuay's case, in daytime very rarely come out ... night time only I will be looking in the side mirror then KANASAI got one small one on the window ... walau ... try to kill it that time it will run "inside" the door and then gone ...

lol.. wei got 1 simple method.

u get one piece of A4 paper. the center u put some rat glue. those sticky type . spread it across the sheet of paper.
den in the middle of the glue u put some biscuit..

wala.. nxt day, u sure catch some one.

tats how i get of the the pest in the car.

u put 1 set @ the driver, 1 set @ the passenger n 1 set @ the back seat.

the pest will be eliminate very soon.

Hah... its not unusual, i hv the same problem as well, not only that, i hv found spider and an ant nest on my car as well, it is due to I hv went on holiday for extended time therefore these creatures moved into my confortable moving home.

Just ridsect the car kao kao overnite, balik rumah tidur, morning should be smell good balik. Repeat until pest gone. but... dont do this if its the big cockroach... it will struggle and lay shit on all over your car. Perhaps sticky bait is the way.

For the ant nest, i found them inside my car wash mat container, its moist and confortable there, i let them move away by laying them on the grass.

Spider usually wont come in gang or groups, so doesnt really matter, i just ignore them.

anyway, did you know according to scientist, cockroach is a very clean insect. try to capture some as your pet.

I like your method. Only trouble is the dispossing bit if you're absolutely scared of roaches... :S

Woah, some ppl here recommend extreme measures just to flush out the roaches, i say get the professional pest controller to get them out once and for all. That's much better

U know, like those emits ultrahigh frequency sounds tat will scare cockroach away used in house?
Just modify it and attach to the car's alarm system...So it will activate when u turn on alarm...

You better dont spray or put any pesticide. When you put undet the hot sun the will dissolve and mix with air in your car, then you are the one who is going to die.

Ya but cockroaches can outlive us humans no problem in those conditions.

If its every now and then meaning that your car might have a nest already.

Also check where you park your car. If you park in those damp places where cockcroah stays there then chances of getting infeceted is high.

Try parking elsewhere first.

Furthermore, why not use ridsect? Its surely cheaper then idle your car for 1 or 2 hours.

i have a experience with ants troop, i park on roadside while morning, not ants yet... when evening going to collect car and open the door and found out plenty of ants troop crawling along the door side... lucky not yet crawl into car and i splash them with high pressure water...

Well one afternoon of good sunshine not good enough to kill my little pot of plant, it just turn grey for a week and then green back.

Haha quickly get rid or elese there will be thoushands of them coming out... I prevent mine from putting pandan leaf and the cockroach trapper.

or go to car specialist to fix it but it will costly

Yea, pandan leave, and cockroach trapper... previously my car got, then i open up the cushion, and spare tyre (most of them hide here), clean everything.. then put ubat serangga (those selling at pasar malam) and put in the spare tyre area.. so far no cockroach... but today morning got 1 spider (about 10-20cent size), i've stop at BHP, then XXXXX him...

OK ok based on so many si-fu's advice, my first step will be put pandan leaves, and then overnight ridsect kau kau the car, then mix the baking soda and sugar and put on a rat glue paper. Hope it works, cos it's damn potong stim when taking girl out then suddenly cockroach come out ... zzzzz.

last time my dad got this problem..its the drain. park near the drain overnite...opposite our house....change the parking place for 1 week and see if they go away??

Last time during my "waja" days.I spilled a whole cup of coffee onto the seat.Since it a fabric material and the coffee already absorb to the seat i could not do anything.The smell was terrible after the coffee had dried.Someone told me put pandan leaves.After 3 days the smell was gone like magic!

eh, to eliminate smell, i think using charcoal is better. it absorbs any kind of smell.

i tried put pandan leaves in to my car to prevent cockroaches for 2 weeks.
but so far, i still see baby cockroaches running around
and i don't like the smell of the pandan also.. everyone will ask me about the pandan cake smell..

Haha. yeah. I've had this problems too. I tried putting pandan leaves occasionally, but the result is random. Sometimes they will appear and sometimes not. I wonder if putting the roach house trap "size like a box" would work? hmmz..

buy those cockroach poison. ever seen those china made ant poison in small little silver packets. the contents are yellowish. theres a roach version of tht poison

my dad's wira is ermm....passenger/part utility vehicle. so roach infestation is common. a silver packet of those...and they'll start disappearing

Well over the weekend I did the spray ridsect overnight thing. Next morning saw 7 dead baby roaches around various parts of car. Problem still not really solved yet tho cos while driving I still managed to see another 2 live ones running around (one on dashboard, one on the upholstery =\).

i think best is u use those cockroach pellet. put in ur car.. the cockroach eat.. go back to nest n die, the cockroach eat the dead cockroach they die also.
