How's it going guys? Tomorrow around lunchtime in Kota Damansara....DIY TT session. Need to finalise the details so I can apply for leave lah.

Heheh.. I finally got to further upgrade the parts in my X-Cans PSU section, pushing the sonic quality a nudge better than before..as far as I can hear on my lousy headphones. Its fast, very revealing and exceptional clarity. I think I've hit the end of the road with it and play the thingy "as is".

bsl555, out of curiosity, what cans do you use? The good old yamaha orthodynamics?

Far worse sounding than that..perhaps not worth the mention and perhaps my BIGGEST regret purchasing it years ago. If finance allows..I'd get a mid to high end Grado..but I know it'll be under utilized.
Meanwhile..I'm trying to obtain a pair of Russian 6N1P tubes to roll inside the X-Cans as I know these tubes are far lower noise and should sound better than the resident 6922. Mullard can go hella... too pricy and overhyped to play with.

perhaps u owned a k400/k500..should be a suit for classical music (i think..)

No lah.. planets away from K1000.. thats why I say..not worth mentioning.
Anyway..I think one side is slightly defective as I can hear rattling distortion.
I've never owned any great headphones before but I'll perhaps do sometime in future.
