Test riding bikes for newbies in the wet is a really bad idea tbh.

It's designed to correct itself, need to be forced to take a corner.

Accident looks like it overshot the corner....maybe lowside the front. But the injury is to his left foot on a right-hander....so maybe he just rode it into the side of genting. Injuries look pretty severe though. Video also showed he was bleeding from his mouth....I'm really surprised passerby's took his helmet off before the arrival of EMS. They shouldn't really.

That's right. Big ADVs with 21" fronts don't ride like regular nakeds or sports bikes. They need a bit more counter steering to lean in. After which, they can go either way depending on the geometry or tires. Some will need constant countersteering to maintain the lean, some might fall in abruptly. Some might be very neutral.

If a rider is not used to big bikes, they may go well over speed into the corner as those bikes has so much torque to get well over 100kph B4 one realises it. Doing a test ride at genting is never a good idea....especially in the wet.

You'd be very surprised at how tough top end boots are.

Considering his impact and injuries, proper boots would have made it a minor bruise or even zero injury.

I dunno the rider, I hope he's ok. Maybe he thought it's a bad idea, but went ahead with it anyway.

It's a Tiger 900 Rally Pro? I can't imagine how a front 21 feels like. 24.4 rake and 145.8 trail, means it's easy to turn (small rake), but wants to straighten up (long trail). Fighting to steer is something I yet to experience.

From the photo, left boot was removed, and the foot is covered in red. Not sure it's from other parts such as shin or thigh, hopefully nothing internal.

Things like this will make future test rides more 'controlled' or 'restricted', hopefully in a better way.

Sorry for the rider, but this incident may result in restricted test ride by Triumph in the future.

Used to enjoy Triumph PJ test ride. Used to own a ST765 and they gave me the whole stable of bikes to enjoy for an hour or so whenever im down there for service/ loitering around.

Problem is, too many people take a bike they're not used to and start whacking it without knowing the characteristics. It is a recipe for disaster and also, those guides (if they have) tend to lead but at a speed that is way too fast for newbies to follow the lead bike, and not everyone has track experience either. I know they want to show off the capabilities of the bikes but the riders don't really know the bikes yet and can very easily get into trouble. Whatever it is, public roads can only show a measure of the bike's capability. Not full-on experience and riders should understand this limitation of the environment.

This case looks like the shoe came off first during the crash.
Not worn properly?

Yes how true.
And the "it will never happen to me" mindset is another issue with some bikers.

Just yesterday a rider was making fun of me when he saw me wearing safety gears. But it's ok. I don't care.

no idea. or lesser quality gear even if worn properly, it'll just come of
eg: just Velcro straps, and if said Velcro straps are already worn, they will just come off upon any abrasion or impact.
