This forum should have many penang/kulim Intel kaki

My friend penang Intel told me their chip production is sampah. Still far from what tsmc is delivering today.

A lot of IT illiterate pipul think all i5 are the same cause name also i5 regardless of the generation numbering so they need to rebrand for pipul to notice the difference and upgrade.

tsmc only fab die ..they no need bother much on how u design the chip to be market competitive and they are servicing multiple customers

of course volume can be much higher compared to E2E company like intel and samsung foundry

although intel have foundry business that operating "like" tsmc - but this still very new to market (especially arm instruction set can get to intel foundry like few weeks ago) https://www.thehindu.com/sci-tech/technolog...cle66732186.ece

Disappointed no budget Core processor for people that wanna replace Pentium. I just want 4C4T.
Skylake best platform ever. Can fit 6th to 9th gen cpu. Intel see that as a mistake for not able to squeeze more money.

Means the old board can support 9th gen proc if want to upgrade? Worth to do kah?

some entry mobo doesnt have BIOS update to support newer gen

then u might have issue on getting it booted properly

might get unknown processor id code etc like IntelĀ® Genuine IntelĀ® CPU 0000

yes.
worth it if you wanna save money on mobo (read this: mobo only) and you can find a cheap 9th gen cpu. generally, you cannot find a cheap i9-9700 or 9900. your best bet is i5-9400 to 9600.

here's a little risk:
if your mobo can be flashed (via usb) with any bios, including hacked/tweaked/modded ones, it's good and easy.
if cannot (some mobo will block un-secure bios), you need external flash tool like CH341A to flash bios directly to the bios chip.
is your motherboard bios chip socketable or fix soldered type? socketable = life saver. (boy they don't make this like they used too. sad.gif )
