For those with expired re-entry permit (meaning no longer a PR), do you have to renounce your PR at immigration & checkpoint authority again?

Also, do you have to surrender the singapore IC to either ICA or CPF?

I think I gave these.

- Copy of my IC & passports.
- Letter of ICA confirming that the SPR status.
- Letter from the bank showing your name and account number.

The staff at the counter will take scanned copies, fill up the the form on their system. You then just need to sign digitally.

Add:

If you still have your Singapore IC and the entry permit, you need to return those to the ICA with a letter requesting the status.
- Level 3 ICA building, return the Singapore IC.
- Level 5 ICA building, return the entry permit.
They will issue the letter on the same day (spend about 30 mins there). No appointments needed.

I called Singapore High Comm to make appointment to legalize my documents i.e. to witness my signature on the form. I was told the next appointment is Aug 2024!

Anyone experience this? Also, has any one book CPF online appointment? It seems that Singpass is needed to make an appointment.

My experience was:

22 Jan - last minute get appointment at CPF maxwell TWO days before the appt (check in the website on monday morning for appointment dates released, I was told they release every three weeks in advance but always got last minute slots).

CPF appt on 24 Jan at maxwell, was told FIVE months to process! (but they will continue to pay CPF interest rates up till 31 Mar, thereafter its bank interest rate which is close to zero.

Jan 31 -  received email saying my closure submission successful, today checked my DBS bank acct and the money is in!

So, the fastest way to get your money is to have it transferred to a local SG bank acct, if you still have one.

Did cpf send you any email when closure has been completed?

If you still hvnt enquired cpf yet, you can try whatapps cpf (& state your processing time is >5 mths which is a very valid request).

Next alternatives:
1) call cpf yourself or thru someone in s'pore on your behalf
2) 'Write to Us' link in cpf Contact Us.

I'd llke to share my journey in this matter.

On 4th April 2024, my wife and I visited the Maxwell branch and successfully closed our CPF accounts. We requested that the funds be transferred via telegraphic transfer to our CIMB bank accounts.
While my wife received her funds on 19th April 2024 (in only 2 weeks which is a pleasant surprise), I have not received mine as of this writing.
This morning I wrote to CPF asking them to see if there were something amiss since both my wife and I had our accounts close at the same time. My letter contain these sentences ....... "I couldn't help but wonder if the “delay” in receiving my funds is due to an oversight on your part or if there are still outstanding requirements for funds disbursement/closing of my account. This query is triggered by the fact that my wife and I had the closure done at the same time, yet she has already received her funds. I understand that what is happening could very well be within CPF’s disbursement process and procedure but if that isn’t the case, I would appreciate if you could investigate and let me know."
I received an official reply in about an hour saying that the average processing time is 18 weeks bla bla bla..............and in the reply is this link which someone here in lowyat has shared

This shows that disbursement of funds is not necessarily done on a first-come-first-serve basis.

same here. i received my fund one month after i applied in dec 2023. but now my wife's fund is more than 5 months.. still no news.  also not much different on the amount.
