Can't enjoy that fast.

My fund is frozen by the bank. sad.gif

This morning bank call need supporting document to unfreeze the fund. It is over the transfer amount limit into the country.

But I think EPF still hasn't sent the statement to me. Usually by snail mail.

Damn. Got to go to bank.

Quite surprising. In my personal experience, mbb is more "relaxed" when it comes to remittance compared to, say pbb. But that was quite some time ago.

And this fund is from cpf, which imo should indicate it's a legit fund?
Please update here when they unfreeze it.
*
All the bank have limit amount can be transfer in without question ask. It's Bank Negara rule.

Regardless legit or anything.

So prepare the supporting doc when over the limit.

Damn... Supporting documents such as? Or gonna wait till CPF sends over the statement?
*
So I ask the officer what is the limit transfer in.

For over 10k, need support doc. For over 200k, need support doc and declare form. You need to fill up the declare form and sign.

I pass the CPF letter that send to me. (Above). And statement print from CPF when I in sg close the acc.

Now the fund is release.

Bloody mafan.

You have only 5 days to respond to the freeze fund.

If you fail to respond, the fund will be sent back.

3.6% to 3.8% right now I guess.

For personal banking I see that HL Bank offer 3.65% for 12 months but minimum $500k.
Below that $500k is 3.6%

RHB also offers 3.6% for 12 months with minimum $20k only.

I'm surprised Maybank Singapore only offer 2.65%....
Other banks in Singapore offer around 3%+ except OCBC...
*
That's low for me.

Buy the Maybank share and get div of 6.x% better.

Or dump to kwsp for 5.5% or more.

Or US....

The 2 options that you listed would need you to convert SGD to MYR, something not all people would want.

How's the exchange rate like compared to say XE when you transferred to your mbb account?
*

Waiting for the CPF statement. Will know the actual amount payout and conversion.

Why rush to take out?

All my friends continued to keep their monies in CPF S$ and no regrets, with huge forex gains and interest.

Singapore continues to take care of Malaysians.
*
This yrs mar/april, will stop the interest payout.

Left the forest gain.

So better take back and find a better place to invest.

hi all, i received CPF money in 2024 in my SG bank. if i want to trasnfer money from SG to MY, do i have to pay tax?

theoritically, i'm a MY resident. all external income is taxable as gov has reason to believe i earn my income overseas.
*
No tax. It just an individual money transfer. You can give any reason since the sg bank acc name is same.

You can prepare the cpf statement if transfer amount is big and get hold by the bank.
