Sorry guys but i really don't understand what is jail breaking for i touch..i have just bought a new ipod touch and i have no idea what is happening...sad...need lots of guidance here...thx guys..teach me some basic and show me to the world of ipod TOUCH =) cheers

what firmware is your ipod Touch running? is it 1.1.3? does it have the 5 apps installed (mail, stocks, weather, notes, maps)?

jailbreaking is about "adding" the ability to install 3rd party applications to make your ipod touch even more fun to use.

i try to create folder but i cant put any file in it...how to add file to my folder ? i have manage to put songs and pictures into my itouch but i cant manage to put movies in it ...how to put movies in the folder i created ? when i add file to library or folder nothing happen after i click open...haih...so not used to apple

Btw, which is the easiest method and safest way to jailbreak my ipod touch 1.1.3 ? And after jailbreaking it what kind of applications can i install and where do i get all this applications ? which website ? thx in advance again
*
The movies must be synced to your ipod touch via iTunes. also, make sure it is in ipod touch format too (m4v for purchased vids or mp4 for converted vids).

after successful jailbreaking, you can install apps via the Installer App on your springboard (ipod touch launcher) or downloading the apps from the internet and using an ftp client on your computer to copy the apps into your ipod touch. if you are not sure what you're doing, i suggest just installing via the Installer first.

mike, maybe you should let TS to put at first post biggrin.gif
and thanks for sharing.

is there anyway to know my ipod touch's MAC address? my sister house's wireless filter by MAC address, instead of using password.
*
go to Settings>General>About>, then scroll down to Wi-Fi Address. the MAC should be shown there.

do u guys hooked ur ipod touch in ur car? any is there any docking or cradle or thinggy to put ipod touch in car out there?
*
i just use a basic FM transmitter that works with any mp3 player. sound quality is decent but not as good as if it is direct connection to the car stereo system.

hei, agile meggenger is like msn ???i am using frings for msn...btw, why when i installed applications then my ipodtouch will tell me that i am running low disk space...but how come when i check my free space it shows that i have 3.3gb left ? izzit cz jailbroken itouch can't recognize those installed applications ? and do i need to install boss tool ? what is bosstool actually ? i always see ppl talking bout it when they have low disk space ...thx in advance...hope to hear from some of the pros or anyone...
*
boss tool is to move files to free up space. apple has tried to "control" how much space apps can occupy. but i don't use boss tool.

just did the upgrade to 2.0.1. The ipod touch seems fine but my vista pc did not like iTunes 7.7.1.11. and refused to allow it to be installed. sad.gif

seems that itunes 7.7.x is still buggy.

jailbreaking will void the warranty. but if you need warranty, you can also restore your ipod to its original state before submitting for warranty.
