1. stainless steel is better, but will stick. mafan to use but safer
2. yes. try not to rinse because your ring/ornaments will scratch the pot. use a dedicated tool for washing if u want. kedai eco rm2.40 can get.

3. take a look at hitachi and toshiba pot. these are thick and smooth. hitachi is the fastest rice cooker, toshiba is the thickest

Wash rice can cause friction on the pot hence quicker to rosak

Used to have one Pana rice cooker with non-stick inner pot. The inner pot developed pittings soon and we had to dispose of it.

Bought Khind Anshin with ss inner pot and never looked back.

If you want to use non-stick, zojirushi is the only one that I use that lasts.

I use tefal multi cooker, got both nonstick and ss pot as promo lol. Best cooker is IH instead of old style 1 heater at bottom, and pressurised to cook faster if you want.

don't wash rice in pot to avoid damaging nonstick. Cheap pot material is thin, take care of it more.

Stainless steel is not that mafan to use lah, after rice is cooked, just off the mains for a while, the rice will come off easier. If you leave it to continue to keep warm etc, that's when rice start to stick to the sides.

just get a tefal smart rice cooker. really hassle free if u primarily eat white rice

https://www.tefal.com.my/p/tefal-easy-rice-...cups/7211003713

the problem with old style rice cooker is you may accidentally more or less water, the taste of rice will not consistent. also easy for ants to come in. and man, its so hard to clean them after.

but old style rice cooker still useful if you want to make stuff like nasi briyani, colored rice, etc.

u never heard of this brand means u have not been cooking enough rice. once you get this, phillips national panasonic dyson can all walk 1 side.

and yes don't wash rice in the rice cooker especially if its coated because the rice will produce minute scratches during washing. over time the rice will just stick like awek tasted 8 inci.

Im using panasonic the fuzzy logic microcomputer model. Best rice cooker I have used

last model lasted for 10+ year before the lid joint patah, that stuff still work tho. Tried tefal but bought back panasonic after 1 year.

I can let the rice sit on keep warm for 12+hours (longest before the rice finish) without the rice drying out or kerak formed at the bottom. tefal on other hand got kerak even only after 2-3 hours

Aah I see that you too are a man of culture! yes some can't get enough of having their cervix boinked. But this is serious kopitiam so I shall refrain from sordidity (see what I did there? biggrin.gif ), and will stick to the topic.

I have looked into Zojirushi rice cookers before and the prices were most unappealing. Went for Panasonic jar-type rice cooker instead to quell the thrifty cheapskate that lives within my soul, and am content with the performance.

My house is using this.

Khind Anshin Buffalo stainless steel inner pot rice cooker. Heavy and durable. Classic looking. 10 years warranty. I saw it selling in senheng, Aeon, NSK, common electric appliances store also can find.

I bought this for my mom she loves it. I bought one smallest one for myselft too. Those saying stainless steel pot will sticks rice, you haven't tried this pot. Before using this she using nonstick inner pot rice cooker the nonstick layer peels off sticks to rice after few years of using.

But I think not all non stick inner pot rice cookers are not good. Just personal preference my mom doesn't like nonstick cookwares she says got toxic from the nonstick layer. She probably doesn't know the correct way to use non-stick so she prefer stainless steel pot.

I used typical electric rice cooker then I became cautious because metal fatigue can occur. Metal gets into blood, will likely cause brain malfunction.

Some time later I learn about how non-stick materials were made and how babies born from teflon factories workers are deformed.

Now I use clay. Around 5 years still no sign of problems with me and the pot. It is uncommon so best you research what's available in your area.

1. You assume that I bought the cheapest claypot chicken rice pot...
2. Glazing may have heavy metal, but compared to steel pot, which of 2 has lesser metal content?
3. As per my first comment, its advisable to do your own research & consider availability near you.
Clay is fragile in shipping.

Using Xiaomi Mijia Induction Rice cooker.

Can prepare rice early on then set appointment on what time it needs to ready.

So far so good, the rice pot is heavy, easy to clean.
Rice is fluffy and consistent.

I bought this Panasonic non-fuzzy logic model for water vapor drainage container feature. This one opens to one side.

Many times, the excess water drips around the lid on regular flip up models. I often need to use kitchen towel to wipe dry. Some times, excess water from lip drips in to the rice and spoils the rice

where got minimum 5 liter?

I dont have the experience with that toshiba rice cooker bro, if let say the pot got scratch and you think it is not safe to use it, just replace the pot lah. like tefal they got replacement. for toshiba u go contact them lah see if got replacement or not

if you know how to steam rice using the traditional method, this one works that way as well

this is just a modern steam rice cooker, dont have to make things complicated, no need to overthink.

just buy or dont buy that's all

Some people, like my mom for example, are "tong nasi". They need to eat certain amount of rice in order to tahan hunger, especially for dinner.

This isn't healthy alright but many have trouble adapting to, or refuse to accept that eating less rice means it's easier on the body to regulate blood sugar, which ironically means easier to control hunger.

Khind Anshin has my vote too. Bought it circa 2006, and used the inner pot to replace my National Rice Cooker inner pot. Still going strong today.

Good memories of that pot. My wife cooked our first meal after getting married, with that pot.

Some people, like my mom for example, are "tong nasi". They need to eat certain amount of rice in order to tahan hunger, especially for dinner.

This isn't healthy alright but many have trouble adapting to, or refuse to accept that eating less rice means it's easier on the body to regulate blood sugar, which ironically means easier to control hunger.

thats the thing.
my doubt is regarding how much starch or sugar these so called "starch removing rice cooker" can remove, or is this even real to begin with.

take note as per article below , testing show that blood glucose level after consume normal vs "starch removing rice cooker" rice , no difference.

" ............. These carb reduction effects claimed by companies are based on food composition analysis,
and no clinical research data are available on the effect of carb-reducing rice consumption on blood glucose response.
............."

".......
However, no significant difference could be observed in iAUC blood glucose between regular MR and low-carb MR. ........"

Need to thoroughly wash the rice before cooking and need to put just-nice amount of water. Having said that, my experience is 30:70 (stick:non stick).

I bought mine more than 10 years ago. Anshin rice cooker still virgin and decorating the cupboard interior. Pot only used extensively.

RM120 something. the cheapest sus304 inner pot rice cooker
no idea why milux stop this model and let overprice khind stole the money
the inner pod become non stick deep frying pan
the cooker rosak because heating element melting as deep frying abuse. normal overheat issue with rice cooker and multi cooker.
Upgrade to ELBA ceramic cooker + milux sus304 inner pod

I bought this Panasonic non-fuzzy logic model for water vapor drainage container feature. This one opens to one side.

Many times, the excess water drips around the lid on regular flip up models. I often need to use kitchen towel to wipe dry.  Some times, excess water from lip drips in to the rice and spoils the rice

I'm thinking of getting this. How's it been for you? Is the inner pot nonstick surface still intact?

I bought this 0.6L in 2017 at RM180 from 11street. There's no buffalo stamping on the inner pot. Still using it.

Edit: didn't realise I was replying to last year's post.

Khind Anshin has my vote too. Bought it circa 2006, and used the inner pot to replace my National Rice Cooker inner pot. Still going strong today.

Good memories of that pot. My wife cooked our first meal after getting married, with that pot.

Using Xiaomi Mijia Induction Rice cooker.

Can prepare rice early on then set appointment on what time it needs to ready.

So far so good, the rice pot is heavy, easy to clean.
Rice is fluffy and consistent.
