overhaul it...
*
imho the following phrase is true for practically anything in this world....
...and this especially holds true for cars....and their engines in particular when it comes to overhauls

Dont fix it if it aint broke

My dad's 1.5 iswara 290k km already
going on 10 years
still nev did even top overhaul
power is still great
engine is smooth
fc is good...still beats the crap out of my NEW 1.3
just changed a couple of engine mountings n timing belt n all
still a v nice car to drive
no need overhaul unless had some big overheat or sumthing wink.gif

block change,piston sure change also
correct me..if im wrong
*
no need change the block
the 1.3 and 1.5 blocks are identical
just the bore size is diff
piston stroke length n all exactly the same
so can just send the block for re-boring and get a new set of pistons
con-rods all i think is the same for both 1.3 n 1.5
not sure if cylinder head need to change onot tho hmm.gif

true true
if just drive the car like its indestructable then sure after 3 or 4 years will need overhaul
i was referring to cars that are well taken care off
if do proper maintenance, the iswara engine can really last very long
it has a very good engine icon_rolleyes.gif

Besides changing the engine, are there any way to upgrade it or to make it better?
It's rattling badly,so I guess a new mounting is needed right?

Any other mods to keep it going for longer distance?
*
just change my engine mounting, only change the vertical piece, not the diagonal one. RM130 including labour, changed also the bushes, total 8 pieces RM85 when change the mounting.

total spent RM215

think they calculate the workmanship into the cost of goods.... so they didnt charge me separately for labour.
