As long as you're using a charger with overcharge protection, explosive battery failure shouldn't be an issue. There are also signs of failure that you can look out for in the battery. If it starts to look bloated, just stop using it and replace immediately. When the battery gets bloated, it won't hold a charge properly anyway.

Someone mentioned above, but try to get a scooter with the biggest wheels you can get. Malaysian roads are pretty bad and bigger wheels means you won't get flipped over so easily.

i agree bigger wheels and with suspension is a bigger bonus. ability to fold up and stand nicely is good too , if you have limited space to store.

May I know which model of Mi is this?

I have been considering one for my daily commute to MRT station (tarmac road), instead of parking my car in open sun. Distance is average 2km one way.
My main criteria is Light and hill incline, that lead me to the Mi Scooter 3. (13.2kg /16% climb)

The essential is 12kg/10% climb. Would it really be diiferent to 16%?

Does these models have full suspension as you mentioned?
Just today I saw a passenger carrying a folded e-scooter on MRT, i am convinced it wont  be too obstructive and looking forward to get one.
Anyone knows where i can get the trolley wheels installed on the front bar upright bar?
*
I think mine are the mi scooter gen 1 or 2.

Get the mi 3, climb inclination drop tremendously when the batt is going down.

My current usage does have quite steep climb and it wont be able to go up if the batt is less than 50%.

The model you mention does not have suspension at all laugh.gif - same like mine.

One more thing I forgot the mention is to get a solid tire, bumpier and harder but wont run flat.
Changing the tube by yourself is quite challenging. Change too many tube that I give up and change to a solid tire.

Trolley wheel ? Any link or pic ?

I have a Segway es4 version but after 3 years battery died and can’t charge up. I can’t find anyone to fix it as well. But when it was workign it was cool. I enjoyed travelling with it to nearby by shops to bungkus or buy bread. But then pdrm said these scooters are illegal for road use so I stop using it and then the battery died and can’t charge up.

Mi 3 it is I guess. I think the ones with suspension must be heavy and cost more. More powerful. Unless the new mi4.... expensive though.

Didnt know such thing existed.

Good to be able to stand the scoot upright with it.

Installation should be very straight forward, clamp and tighten with 2 screws.

Moving the scoot folded is better with the existing wheel, much bigger.

You might wanna consider buying one from an actual store instead of online for future maintenance / spareparts. I recall theres one in PJ called Starwheels. You can google them.

Yeah I checked their webpage and I find it very interesting... RM1099 isn't so bad either but they didn't show full specs of the product, I whatsapp the seller but he hasn't reply yet. My main concerns are these things below:

Maximum weight load.
Battery type.
Battery capacity
The cost of battery replacement.
Does it have overcharge protection.

Nope but before I buy I asked their shop they said any problem can contact them and their shop looks like reputable. I walked in and tested in their shop before I buy.

I got 3 e-scoot. Ninebot kaput already.

Mijia Xiaomi is super smooth but only 25km/ht iinm and short distance about 15km only.

My Zero 8 bought new rm2.4k I think 3-4 years already still going strong. 45km.with speed 35km/hr.. got nice suspension too. Thinking of selling mur2 below rm1k.. barely use it now.
