My new fiber registration as below

4 May - Registered online at celcomdigi fiber website
7 May - Reregister at Celcom Bluecube outlet as WhatsApp with CelcomDigi still did not provide installation date. Only obtain info since 4 May. Noticed Celcom staff registered my details in page showing Digi logo.
8 May - Got installation date on 11 May evening
11 May - Digi staff come configure router in afternoon. TM staff come later in the evening to pull fiber. The distribution box behind my house is full, need to pull from another box further which left one last port after I've taken up one. Noticed the PPOE ID given is @digi.home.tm

Digi provided Zyxel EX3300-T0 router.
TM provided ZTE ZXHN F620 GPON ONT

Able to get 49M - 51M download and 20M - 21M upload with 50M package.

Same day later Digi emailed with a mobile number which will be my fiber account number which I need to use it to register in MyDigi app for billing.
*
noticed during registration digi will be bit slow, mine almost 5 days due to port address and real address was different..see how long they will transfer later on.
how's the tenet so far? esp international connection, even at night time.

forgot to ask, does MyDigi have live support 24/7 like unifi did? It'd be easier to contact them if anything happened
*
they do have call line ...but in term support seems unifi is better than others.

got the installation done, they provided zyxel ex3300-T0 router
obviously you're given private IP, so far tested same experience as on unifi

will test on different peak hour time, so far for routing should be the same..tried online games that I played most, same latency.

for the router, not bad, it's way better than fibrehome router even it's just stock zyxel router .

One thing that really sets me off, they DO have customer support for this (+60 11-1600 3088 ) and it's on whatsapp. I have a terrible experience, it's like sooooooooo much rn.

I sent my inquiries yet no response, been 4 days they ghosted me
*
that whatsapp mostly for registration it seems, and late reply ...not sure why.. try the call support instead

Looking good although latency is slightly on the higher side

Is it connected to LAN2 on the TM fibre modem?
*
yeah some sites do have higher latency, but so far in term of gaming like overwatch, destiny still almost the same latency. some sites seems bit perform faster load tho.. haha
yes, port 2, vlan 629.

as for the router, since the zyxel router given by digi was in room behind the house, the wifi was ok-ok.. end up just revert by using my ol asus router haha

Thanks for sharing the experience with CelcomDigi Fibre!

As for the router, I think the only ISP with decent router is the Maxis WiFi 6 router. It’s honestly not bad.
*
for some reason , everytime im setting my dns(cloudflare, adguard ) it will choose jp as "closest dns server" 😂

and obviously it's on private ip, so far most my apps works fine.

I'm on the old package RM80 for 30Mbps download/upload (this one still ok for my house with 4 people)

should I change to the RM90 package for 50Mbps download / 20Mbps upload?

The extra download speed would help
But unsure if upload speed reduction will be relevant
*
extra upload might have if you got do online backups or cloud sync...
too bad most plan even tm doesn't have almost symmetrical up/down like TIME..

TIME doesn't have symmetrical up/down either
it is symmetrical on 100/500, but 1gbps and 2gbps plans aren't

If you want true symmetrical on all plans, you gotta go with Allo/City Broadband
*
allo doesn't have good reputation it seems, and plus there's no allo in sabah/sarawak

Subscribe to digi home fibre on 15 may until now no news when will they install.  Go to digi center they give me 2 no ask me to call.  Both no call until hp pecah nobody answer.  WhatsApp them nobody answer. Really lousy service
*
are you new user or existing tm? if you're existing user, then you need to give them your unifi installation address (on unifi website). if you're new user, just take photo on the nearest "tm white box" with number, send to their whatsapp.
Not sure why, their "fibre" team doesn't really check on field, mostly if they doesn't reply you mostly meaning they can't find the unifi port address for your application.

Luckily the digi agent here being helpful where they keep on check daily see the status and keep followup with me. If you go to the digi centre, ask them to open your application status, what did they remark there, for mine last time was unable to find the address due to my address and unifi address was different.

Using astro fibre on allo. I send them astro invoice. There a unifi box not far from my house about 1pole. Last year lots of unifi agent call me ask if I want to subscribe to unifi. Go to digi center they just give me 2 no tell me to call the no.  Call the 2 no nobody will answer.  WhatsApp them  never answer also. Tomorrow go terminate it straight subscribe to unifi .
*
no wonder..haha
mine after i said goin to terminate tomorrow, the same evening they settled my transfer id.

If I see a off-white box with Celcom logo (looks like telecom fiber box) means Celcom run their own fiber infra to my area?

Or borrow unifi because next to it is TM box that looks larger.

Edit:those boxes that you see by the roadside near tamans
*
which area...sabah? some place celcom got their own fibre infra

Yep somewhere Sabah. If real fiber infra then might consider combining phone and internet bill together with some of their new combined plans.

Edit: Tho not sure what I lose if switch to CelcomDigi, I think unifi technical support is somewhat better in bringing back a problematic connection. A real concern since in another place Unifi cable frequently hit by large trucks (4~5 times a year) and after I do live chat unifi contractor come fix it for free quite fast.
*
unifi do have fast tech response tho, but that's depend on you..if you got postpaid Celcom or digi , it's cheaper pair with celcomdigi fibre.

else just go for unifi

even the digi cs on chat and centre staff gave different answers.

On digi chat support: will use the new pricing starting nov.
digi centre staff: oh noes, new pricing only new user, existing still pay same amount as you now.

lel.. since digi and celcom merged, they become bit more fakap dah..
no reason to stay, even with their postpaid + fibre no longer feel worth already with new pricing tier.

If purely for the new router, I would say better buy your own. ISP provided router aren't that great. If you are looking to upgrade 500mbps, just go for any cheap offer available. Try ask TM and Maxis agent see what offer they have for people who switch to their internet.

I agree with this. Even after price adjust in Nov, assuming it happen for old user like me, 100mbps is gonna be RM99. Meanwhile, Maxis and Unifi offers RM89 for the same plan. Will definitely switch in November when my contract end.
*
ikr, their one main attraction reason was their postpaid + fibre combo rebate... but with new pricing tier, doesn't see any worth already.. better stay on unifi instead.
