So yesterday I wanted mid valley and the gardens. Somehow whenever crossing the road connecting them I feel very sad and nostalgic when I don't see Tim Ho Wan anymore. Yeah I know their service and food quality dropped quite badly the year they closed but somehow I feel that there is more to them la. Other countries doing ok, only Malaysia so bad? I remember on their first year the quality was quite good. It only turned bad due to more expansion.

But I dunno la, the crossing between gardens and midvalley just feels awkward without tim ho wan there la. In a weird way I hope Tim Ho wan can return back to their gardens slot.

Got anyone miss Tim Ho Wan?

Most locals dip dimsum in sugar sauce or chilli, don't appreciate authentic Cantonese dimsum.

I don't understand why so many Malaysian are retarded.
Why dip dim sum in sauce?
Dim sum meant to eat fresh and unadulterated

A lot of time they slowly replace with sub par and lower quality local ingredients or made in china imitations.

Sometimes even sushi shops use local rice to cutdown on cost...

When it first opened it was quite decent. The taste is not overwhelming like Msian dim sum but felt kind of fresh. I think their siew mai also more lean meat than fat meat.

Not typical msian dim sum but not too bad. I think they would still be able to get a crowd in msia if they return provided their staff are not rude and quality was like 1st year in Msia.

Expensive and cannot compete on price with local dimsum.
Had it in Hong Kong about 10 years ago. Still remember it being salty and fatty. I’msure there must be better dimsum in Hk.
I eat dimsum also seldom dip in sauce.

Suprise no one answee this so far.

Because Malaysian food > Hong Kong food. Our dim sum is better, why do we need Tim Ho Wan? In Sg, maybe because there is no good dim sum over there. Our charsiew and siew yoke are better, cleaner and neater. Our siew ngo unlike them, cut and served clean so customer can eat properly. I went to the Michellin star siew ngap and it's my last, it's just bones every where.

Our local run dim sum (non halal) is much better quality than the crap produced from these chain brands

chain restaurants dolly dim sum, dragon i, tin ho wan, din tai fung, hai di liao are shit

If its a franchise its not good at all

LOL, that's why, no matter how delicious the food, chili with soy sauce, fermented chilli, sweet chili sauce, sambal, sweet sauce and all sort of sauce is a must LOL

I once asked my friend, you are eating the food or the chilli is the main dish? LOL
