QUOTE(kobe8byrant @ Nov 22 2007, 04:13 PM) Which makes me ask why isn't he in the senior squad? Are you telling me it is imperative for England U21 to achieve success more than the senior team? Enough with Beckham. He may have had an assist but it's time to blood youngsters. f*** SWP (who ain't a kid anymore, he's 27 or 28) and throw in Theo Walcott who has done well for Arsenal when brought on. Well, Steven Taylor hasn't really make it into the senior squad like Dawson did [even as unused sub] as far as I remember.Injuries as an excuse? We knew Owen would be as f***ed as Saha in terms of being vulnerable to injuries, yet Macca decided to play him in a piss poor meaningless friendly. The article posted by verx sums England up. Talk shit about English managing England, I say go back with the foreigners. Most of the English managers know nuts about tactics if you ask me. Big Sam, we all thought he would do wonders with Newcastle, but nothing as of yet and Curbs hasn't done anything to merit being touted as the new England manager. Even if not Walcott, its about time for Bentley to be given the chances. But first of all, those fans who booed him need to forget about his absent from the U21 Championship last summer [which was due to fatigue if not mistaken]. QUOTE(Duke Red @ Nov 22 2007, 04:16 PM) I just read an article on soccernet where McLaren is now saying that it's time to look at the U-21 players. DUH! We've been saying that for ages haven't we? The juniors are putting the seniors to shame. Now only he want to have a look at the U21 squad? Wrong timing, Steve QUOTE(vreis @ Nov 22 2007, 04:24 PM) He get injured playing against the Portugal U21 on Tuesday.QUOTE(madmoz @ Nov 22 2007, 04:27 PM) 'It's going to be a huge loss without us there in the Euros. I'm just lost for words at the minute.' Yep, someone did earlier.Did someone post this comment by Terry earlier? QUOTE(d12fren87 @ Nov 22 2007, 04:35 PM) Poor mclaren, jadi scapegoat. If that's the case then I really pity McLaren who got nothing to do with Steve McClaren why cant England fans juz admit that their team is weak????Everytime failue also blame on some one beckham, phil neville, seaman,Ronaldo then now Mclaren.] SAD~~!!! |

A Draw is what they need. Even referee helped England by giving a penalty and plenty of free kick against Croatia. Getting back to 2-2 and England start to get cocky and they never control possession. They dun deserve to even get a draw. 100k pound per week player....................sigh

striker - other than owen, rooney others juz cant get enough 1st team action in their club respectively the list include bent, defoe and even crouch as a rotation player. how can some one who desire play for england not playing regularly at their club?
midfielder - left wing problem again? there is no true playmaker in mid, very ez who is going to get the ball when england wan to initiate attack? they need a playmaker to dictate their game defender - they had so many good player at the back yet he pick the worst gk - after seaman, i think there will be no man between the post manager - juz not big enuf to put command to his players, a manager with juz UEFA finalist wanna command me?? a lot of them with EPL and CPL medal. even they play play CPL and how about mclaren?? play CPL b4? Time and time again it was proven that England can't aiming for a draw because in the end it will come back to haunt them. |

England axe McClaren
QUOTE The Football Association have confirmed the departure of England coach Steve McClaren. McClaren's tenure was brought to an end on Thursday, less than 24 hours after England were knocked out of Euro 2008 at the qualifying stage. England, who only needed a draw against Croatia to seal their place at the finals in Austria & Switzerland, lost 3-2 at Wembley on Wednesday. McClaren was contracted up to the World Cup in 2010 - but he will not be seeing out the remaining 33 months of his contract after England's first failure to qualify for the finals of a major tournament since 1994. His reign is the shortest in the history of the English national team. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11095_2896125,00.html England failure hits sports firms QUOTE Sportswear manufacturers and retailers have woken up with a hangover following England's failure to qualify for the Euro 2008 football championships. England's kit manufacturer Umbro warned in a statement to the Stock Exchange that it expects a "substantial reduction" in sales of England shirts. The retailer Sports Direct said it was no longer confident its profits this year would beat last year's level. Shares in both companies fell in early trading in London. Sports Direct shares fell 18.2% while Umbro shares were down 2.6%. Other shares also suffered, with retailer JJB Sports falling 8.6%. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/business/7106952.stm O'Neill - It's nonsense QUOTE Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill has labelled rumours linking him with the England job as 'absolute nonsense'. O'Neill has persistently been linked with the position in the past, and fresh speculation emerged following a comment he made last week. The Villa manager was quoted saying 'let's take things one step at a time', sparking rumours that he may be keen on succeeding Steve McClaren. However, O'Neill has strongly denied the claims, and is adamant that he is fully committed to Aston Villa. Utterly hypothetical "It is absolute nonsense. I do not even remember saying it, to be perfectly honest," he told the Birmingham Mail. "I said something some time ago to the tune that England would qualify and was asked something on the back of that that was completely and utterly hypothetical. "It is utterly pointless to talk about it. I am committed to Aston Villa. I cannot end speculation. I have had it for years and years and years, no matter what you say. "I have a big commitment to Aston Villa. It is as simple as that." http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12010_2895327,00.html This post has been edited by alien2003: Nov 22 2007, 05:20 PM |

So it's confirm then, the search for a new manager has officially begun. Shortest term for a manager - it shouldn't have happen in the first place.
Who next? Mourinho, Klinsmann etc? |

QUOTE(popsoul @ Nov 22 2007, 05:25 PM) IIRC, Hiddink just signed a contract extension with Russia which means he will lead them to WC2010? QUOTE(-Adrian- @ Nov 22 2007, 05:26 PM) Big Sam is struggling with Newcastle at the moment so I am not sure if he is suit for the job. |
