I am thinking about ditching Netflix for HBO Go, but I have several questions that I couldn't find answers for in https://www.hbogoasia.my
Hoping other sifus here can help enlighten me.
1. How's the quality? Is 4K + HDR10/Dolby Vision available? 2. Is everything from HBO Max available in HBO Go, or is it limited? 3. Are the contents completely uncensored and managed by HBO? Or does it go through Astro replete with shit quality compression and censorship?

Thank you.
1. 1080p only, 4k/dv only with MAX 2. Almost all. 3. I believe so, recently compared a scene and it’s not cut. Probably someone else could clarify this

1. How's the quality? Is 4K + HDR10/Dolby Vision available? Full Hd only 2. Is everything from HBO Max available in HBO Go, or is it limited? Not sure 3. Are the contents completely uncensored and managed by HBO? Or does it go through Astro replete with shit quality compression and censorship? Not like astro
Not worth it la i think, macam rugi pulak i subs, netflix better Thank you.
All the other available streaming services (e.g. Disney Hotstar, Apple TV+) in Malaysia don't offer enough interesting content to warrant switching from Netflix.

Yeah... sailing the seven seas with Disney+ and HBO Max, but only for the shows that do not have a physical release. I delete the files once I buy the discs.
I don't mind paying a premium so long as the quality of the service is up to par. But 1080p only is inexcusable in this day and age.
I wonder what's the difference. It is just a rebranding or are we going to get extra content that is not currently available on HBO Go.
It’s both.
A rebranding of HBO GO, promising us a better streaming experience with Max. Now supports 4K & Dolby Atmos, as well as more content from Warner Bros. Discovery—including HBO, Discovery, HGTV, Cartoon Network, etc.
Max’s official pricing is available in Malaysia come Nov 19, 2024. Current HBO GO subscribers will get Max Standard by default.
At the movie page, it shows Dolby Atmos, however, when i played using Denon X2700H, it only shows DD + Sur
This is so misleading
If your subscription is through Astro, then you get Standard Package, which only offer Full HD with Dolby 5.1. You need to subscribe with different account and choose Ultimate package to get 4K UHD with Dolby Vision & Dolby Atmos

oh thanks.
So expensive to sign up another ultimate tier.
they should allow astro user to top up for the ultimate tier
