Hi All,
I've run Gutsy for more than 12 hrs now... It's definitely stable like the previous feisty... In this version now it has "deskbar applet" it is similar to spotlight (mac os x) and searchlight in Vista included... fast user switching like the other 2 os'... renamed gaim to pidgin... support for the new 8k series nvidia and the 2k series ati... firefox 2.0.0.7 included... My problem during the initial stage was that installation was unsuccessful, the disk couldn't copy 2 files onto the partition (one of them is grub)... later rerun the live cd again and did the same thing but this time I used the disk partitioner to delete the partition making it to freespace and then reformat again to ext3... finally all the files were copied onto the hdd and now everything's running sweetly on my rig... I'll post more post-installation comments as the hour progress, regards Fa'iq |
