QUOTE(csfeeder @ Oct 24 2007, 09:55 AM) Well I should clarify that this solved my problem with Firefox loading pages VERY slowly. So i went on the forums and got this:Open firefox. Type in about:config at the address bar and type in network.dns.disableIPv6 at the Filter field. Double-click on the appeared Preference Name so that the value will be changed to True. This will not effectively disable ipv6. It's just that this would save you a few seconds when accessing a web page as firefox assumes that the webserver is inside a ipv4 network. Hence, it would only query for a domain<->ipv4 translation. |

Advise for AV710 sound card user.
use this asound.state in this site http://www.head-fi.org/forums/showthread.php?p=3375341 You'll get much better sound. No more noises. if you experience sound being played "slow motion". go to terminal type: alsamixer change the clock to 48000. that will fix the problem |

Been keeping an eye on that, it seems yes, a little bit slow when starting up...but once up I can't tell the difference from Feisty, even with Compiz on.

Anybody tried the Kubuntu version? i have problem mounting HDD with it. It won't mount HDD other than itself and thumbdrive. at first I thought it was because my other HDD was in NTFS, but it has built in NTFS-3g (latest build). Then I found out it won't even mount other linux (ext2 and ext3) partitions also. I wanted to use Amarok on this but my MP3s are in the other linux partition. My HDD can be accessed fine on Ubuntu and even teh Kubuntu partition can be read on Ubuntu.

i'm a Kubuntu user, if you have problems mounting, try this
CODE sudo mkdir /media/hdb1 sudo mount /dev/hdb1 /media/hdb1 change the hdb1 according to your partition numbering |
