Here's the changelog for 3.71 M33-4:

* Bugfix: Multidisc psx games bought in the psn store would not work due to the format being different and M33 treating them as decrypted games.
* Added support for decrypted multidisc psx games created with popstation_md (supplied with this release).

This update also includes the multi-disc Popsloader Dark AleX has been working on. Here's the changelog for the new Popsloader:

* Bugfix: Games without compression had sound issues when using 3.72 pops. Fixed.
* Added support for multidisc px games created with popstation_md.
o Note: multi disc games will only work in 3.71 and 3.72 pops. Previous pops will exit to the xmb with generic error 0x80000004 when attempting to run multidisc games.

took from QJ.just similar to the 3.72 update.

Yes, if you're planning to play lots of PS1 game on your PSP. Otherwise, no.

1) Download the update files. It'll be in a zip file with 3 folders inside. The only one we want is the "UPDATE" folder.

2) Make sure that your PSP is on firmware 3.71 M33 / 3.71 M33-2 / 3.71 M33-3. Go to "Settings > System Settings > System Information" to check. Do not proceed if your PSP is not on any of these firmware.

3) Connect your PSP to your PC with a memory stick inside the PSP. Copy the "UPDATE" folder to your /PSP/GAME/ directory on the memory stick

4) Disconnect PSP from your PC,

5) Go to the "GAME > Memory Stick", you'll see the update will be listed there. Run the update and follow the on-screen instruction. It'll take less than 10 seconds to complete. The PSP will restart automatically after update complete. You can delete the installer from the memory stick after update complete.

I don't understand what you're saying. Are you trying to say that your PSP is on firmware 3.71 M33-2? If yes, you can use the guide above to upgrade directly to 3.71 M33-4. As I already mentioned above:

I've read the readme for that homebrew game and it seems like it requires Kernel 1.50 to work.

Are you using PSP Slim? If yes, then you can't play the game because PSP Slim doesn't support Kernel 1.50. The alternative is to use eLoader to run the game.
