Read whats deluge about. I suggest you to search the forums. There is a dedicated Thread for Deluge

I dont rekon people using torrent on Maxis. If you are a heavy torrent user , get yourself a VPN or a torrentflux account

Dude

Port Forward HAS ZERO IMPACT. I've tried it. It does nothing. Your ZTE is already a router. What you are doing is well just waste of time and resources. I dont port forward at all , cause its the same .But if you use Internet2Go , then yes all ports are UNBLOCKED. When I say UNBLOCKED , you are free !

Yes , I mean I've seen crazy speeds with Internet2Go

I can proof it , you see Internet2Go users are using an APN called unet (for 3G/HSDPA) and net (for GPRS/EDGE). For Maxis BB its all maxisbb. They give higher priorities first to Internet2Go users. Don't trust me fine (I think JW has conducted a test as well) , just get a friend to connect to 3G/UMTS/HSDPA and ask him to surf the net or download something (make sure you are connected to the same tower) , you'll notice your speed drops. I mean it drops. If there are more Internet2Go users on that tower , you'll notice the speed starts to crawl. Ask him to stop , you'll notice it goes up back. Plus it gets even slower if people use that tower to make 3G Video calls , etc. So yeah.....Maxisbb is given the lowest priority of all other services. They are interested in businessman who uses his phone as an Modem and regular customers who are into SMSing and Chatting.

3.6Mbps* can be only achieved if they set up a Dedicated Cell tower just for Broadband. Doubt they do that

*- You'll never get 3.6Mbps , but then you'll get around 2Mbps++

Ah ha , I've found out the cause. Today , went out during lunch hour (ack studies after this again) with a friend of mine who brought another friend of his (hes from Maxis). So I asked him couple of questions and he admitted that Maxis is using QoS. Its like this , they check your connection. Too much torrenting , bam your speed goes down. They know , once you restart modem you'll get back the original speed. So they just 'drop' your speed back to sucky speed and force you to restart modem few times. At the end , they know that you'll lose. How many times you want to restart the modem and wait for it to hook a signal....It seems that these days they are limiting the surfing speed as well. So you'll face sucky surfing speeds during afternoon and night. Their reason , 'upgrading'. Pretty much the ZTE Modem has QoS in it and it does that all the time. Dont worry. For the USB Modem , they are using a special 'customised' version that does this exactly as well. Even if you bypass , the chances are very slim. If you get hold of a ZTE Test Unit...You'll see the difference..Its huge !

VPN only makes a single connection. Don't worry. They only get your VPN Address. They will not know what you are doing. Its being masked you see (thats the beauty of VPN). They only shut down when you do certain amount of connections. Once it reaches a level , you'll see your speed drops dramatically (but your signal is still strong). So if you complain , they'll restart and bam for 1 hour or so you'll get superb speeds. Start using p2p again , bam it goes down

So if you are a kaki torrent , go get VPN. Its very hard for them to detect and VPN bypasses all their crap restriction. So dont worry about it.

I'm not sure about Internet2Go. But I've seen some heavy users using it and its fine throughout the day expect during peak hours. That I understand , i mean peak hours are peak hours. But then for us , its a joke

I'll be digging up more information. Like I said I need to conduct more tests on it. I'll be e-mailing ZTE. If you want to help me on this please do so. I'll try to ask them to give me a Full Unlocked Firmware so that its possible for us to bypass Maxis Restrictions or so

I am willing to do that. I'll research more on it

VPN , yeah just configure and run. If you torrent a lot then its worth to get a VPN account. No hassle , its hard for them to detect as its uses encryption !

Go and get a torrentflux account or go get a VPN Service

They compress for Internet2Go users. There is nothing much you can do. Use the other thread , its geared more towards Internet2Go

Both are different systems btw

I think I've found out by crashing the router. They can't do many things. At the moment my modem is hung. I did that trick and bam i have found some speed improvement.

you'll pay more..Not RM 98

RM 98 + gov tax + RM 5 for the bill and that RM 15 for line rental

Breaking News

I am downloading a DVD (as we speak) and I've found out that once you reach 3GB (i assume its 3 or so) the download gets super slow ...It does not go beyond 384Kbps (aka 40 Kilobytes/sec) , currently its hovering around 5-10..Using VPN also does not break this. It seems that my Internet is going slower and slower. I asked my friend who is using maxis and he said that he does not have any sort of slowness. Can someone confirm with me
