Since no one is going to take up the job of organizing the gathering, I would suggest something like this;

Venue: Starbuck Coffee, Berjaya Time Square
Time: 1400
Date: 29/06/2008
Attendance:
1. eehtsitna
2. neilson1312
3. ammar
4. Sham903n
5. amirbashah

The reason that I suggested that place is that I am familiar with the area. Starbuck should be cosy enough for everyone to sit down and chat about agarwood. You have to pay for your own drink though since we dont have a sponsor. tongue.gif

For anyone who is interested in the gathering, please pm me your contact number so that I can add you into the list and inform you of any changes to the plan.

See you guys later! biggrin.gif

Hello....I am a newbies here....
I am curious to know....
The first question...
Who is the person in Malaysia that reaalllly making money from Aquilaria Industry?
The person who planted the plant?
Or
the person who selling the plant?

2ndly,
Anyone here who knows someone that reaalllly had planted the plant
& had already gained the profit? From the chips or from the oils?

3rdly,
Anyone knows the "high" demand are from where?
The chips as well as the oil?
what is the demand look like - pure/mixture/ light distillation oil?

Should anyone knew the answer for all these three question, then you are really a great person.
Do PM me, please.....as I do have the Aquilaria Hirta - candan Gunung, Candan Gajah & Candan Bukit for planting purpose ready for sale....But you need to bring your own transport ler......

Good to see that the thread is alive! biggrin.gif I will try to answer the question to my best understanding.

1. Who is making money in Malaysia? I say the illegal poachers! Most of the gaharu sold in the market (or black market) are taken illegally from the wild. Gaharu plantation is still very new in Malaysia so gaharu produced in large-scale plantation is very small in quantity. You can make a living selling gaharu seedlings because there is a high demand but finding the planting material is going to be challenging.

2. I know a number of people that has planted gaharu but they havent harvested it yet. Chips fetch a higher price compare to oil.

3. There are a high demand of chips and oil in Japan, China, Taiwan, and Middle East. Alot of European perfume manufacturer are looking for a reliable source of oil for their perfume.

jika73 & Sham903n and whoever is in Sabah: Hey guys! Interested to meet up in Kota Kinabalu on a weekend to chat about gaharu? I should be around on the 1st or the 2nd Of November 2008. It will be a friendly gathering like what we have done in June with amir and neilson. Dont worry, no admittance fee will be charged but you have to buy our own drinks lah! tongue.gif

Hi guys! Some update to keep this thread alive. The inoculation trial has ended around December last year. All the trees treated with the technique show signs of resin formation. Our next step is to extract the oil from the wood chips and i will update you guys on the results later.

That aside, I need some help from you guys. You see, we have hundreds and perhaps thousands of inoculation technique out there but we have no idea which is the best technique around. It will be good for everyone if we can conduct some trial using the other inoculation technique and later make comparison on each of those techniques. If you know anyone who owns/knows such technique, please feel free to contact me.

Cheers!

Please restrain yourself from promoting your own business in this thread. You can do so in the trade zone. This thread is for discussion purposes only.

Yes I'm saying that  we should get the correct information from the people whose are dealing in this business and doing the works ...not just what people say or your perception only.

What ever we say shall have a fact .....before we talk about the plantation do you do the plantation?

so from there we can discuss and share the information....

do you asking about the car from the farmer ...are you will get the right answer???

please open your mind when we talk about "discussion"  ~ use concept brainstorming.

Errr... all you did in your previous post is to promote yourself and your own business. I dont have any issues with it if you do it in the trade zone. You really dont have to be defensive.

Please read through all the previous post in this thead to find the answer for your question.

growproject: Yo bro! I thought you are a Sabahan. Or did I mixed you up with someone else? tongue.gif Sure thing, we can meet up and have a chat.

Btu653: Crassna? What sort of information do you want? In short, Crassna is not endemic to Borneo so you have to get it from ppl who can import the planting material. A company in Thailand uses it for oil and chip production.

Sorry for the late reply guys.

leyley: Much of the information regarding the potential of this tree is OVERATED but that doesnt mean that there are no potential at all. Just dont expect to get like 1 million out of 1 acre of land.

Btu653: Although crassna doesnt grow naturally in Borneo, it should be able to adapt itself here without any major issue.
