Someone already mentioned Ikea. That's my recommendation. No matter how careful you are, the non-stick coating will wear out eventually, so there's really no point spending a fortune on a non-stick pan. Get something cheap (but not too cheap lar), use it until it falls apart, and replace.

took me almost a year to convince my wife last time, no need those expensive colourful non stick. Ikea non-stick will do then throw after 2-3 years.

few years down the road, my wife stuck with ikea cheap carbon steel / zwilling wok most of the time. Non stick mostly for light cooking

actually, most cooking use stainless steel with some oil, ok already, won't stick much.. just egg a bit hard.. so just keep around small non stick frying pan just to fry egg.

Hi, I am looking for a suggestion for non-stick frying pan. Also, anyone uses Ecowin Maifan or Tefal Day to Day? How was it?

So whats the best application for lets say i want a non stick surface, yet I want to use metal utensils on it?

Carbon Steel, just season it properly

or

Stainless Steel, use the right technique. You can check youtube videos for it.

Eg: pan seared salmon, need to use spoon to scoop up the melted butter and apply over the fish
Spoon you can use wooden spoon wut, or those silicone spoon. Though I personally also don't like using non-stick pans for searing proteins. Prefer to use my carbon steel / casti iron pans for that.

I know what you mean laugh.gif

So just use CS/SS pans, need some care but it works well once you get used to it.

I have bad news for you.

Sorry, video is not convincing enough because aside from the claim that the coating comes off (doesn't even say at what conditions) all other factors are similar to any other cookware, unless you're using the ceramic oven they cook pizzas in. In any case, I never cook at high heat, where all these unpredictable chemical reactions take place

QUOTE(MrBaba @ Jan 13 2023, 09:54 PM)
It could be the next teflon , no one know much about those ceramic coating except for those made them. Pretty sure ceramic word is misleading as fook more like silicon base one
*
Could be. Alternative then would be to just use cast iron or some kind of anodized steel. But you lose out on the non-stickiness. Not an issue if you don't mind cleaning up.

I don't like nonstick pans. Some Google websites claim when the coating comes off, there will be some toxicity.

I stay with stainless steel pans.

HexClad or All-Clad D5 non stick but TBH, just use good stainless steel pans like All-Clad D3 or D5, it works better than non stick if you know how to use it.

why so?

I got Teflon pan.[mostly stir fry] sometimes I fry chicken with them but won't be expecting the pan to last longer.
I got stainless steel pots[mostly for boiling/steam and deep fry need extra technique if u wan to fry an egg without it sticking to the pot].
I got honeycomb pan [was attracted by advertisement. in the end still need oil to fry an egg. Cannot deep fry as flour will stick in between the comb, now just keep it to use as steamer base only] .

Now i missing cast iron. Need to give it a try. Just haven't found the right size.

ANybody know where to get a good price for recycle besi for old pots/knifes. I got 2 old telfon pan without coating and was lazy to scrap of the leftover coat.

Cast iron too heavy for my wife daily use, thats why prefer carbon steel. Ikea rm99 carbon steel pan is the best kitchen tool i ever invest in. 7 years and still good.

My wife rarely use the cast iron pot since too heavy unless ada guest because of….. le creuset
