Ordered 9/2, today finally received call from SES that my S23U graphite arrived.

Went there to collect. The staff unpacked in front of me, and immediately notice the dent behind the phone. Dafuq...

Asked for exchange, they said they can't do anything. Have to call careline. So immediately I called in front of them and thr careline asked me to send an official email to them. Meanwhile I have to leave the phone with SES, pending resolution from Samsung.

Damn lucky la..


What infuriates me more is their in store promotion is quite the same as PO! And ready stock somemore!! Really regret preorder...

The only benefit of pre-order over after launch promotion is the RM600 guarantee trade in and the option to choose accessories that you want for the RM400 e-voucher. If you did not utilise that RM600 trade in, might as well just buy it after launch.

As for whether you can cancel your order because of the dent, I doubt so. They might offer you a replacement, or simply brush you off because its a cosmetic defect and cosmetics are not covered. When you pre-order from Samsung online, you will need to directly deal with Samsung online. SES wont be able to help and wont offer one-to-one exchange on the spot because of the defect, thats what the SES staff told me.

So in future, I will just order online and deliver straight to my house. No point pickup at SES considering pickup is slower than those who ordered via delivery.

Isn't the back also glass? Personally I'm not surprised. As a matter of fact, I encountered a much bigger bubble with a replacement screen when I paid to replace my cracked S6e screen many years ago. The cracked screen was flawless but the replacement had a big bump that you couldn't feel but could see very clearly when screen is off. In the end, I just accepted it after some arguments with the SC. No choice. Luckily the S8, S8+ and S9+ that I bought later didn't have such problem anymore.

How is it not a defect? It looks damn ugly, it’s poor workmanship! And you paid 4-5K for its premium design!

Go with option 2, cause the crease thing will be there. My sis unit also got, but lucky the screen is nice n bright so cant really notice it.

Personally I would go for option 2 for refund. Option 1 is more risky and we dont know how long the whole process will take and time is money. If the watch is useful for you, launch promo price is about the same as pre-order promo.

Good thing to know that by leaving the defect phone in SES, they can send back directly to warehouse for refund. And Samsung CS will give refunds for cosmetic damage.

I dont have any hidden voucher. azhar75 had a post earlier comparing between pre order promo and launch promo and the difference was around RM100-200 in value. Pre order promo is still a bit cheaper but launch promo you can check the phone in front of you.
