I've read that this is not possible at all in Sony OLEDs, only LG and Samsung OLEDs. the only way to get around the issue in Sony OLEDs is to avoid using High Peak Brightness in the settings

Do share if you came accross the method

You're right, I stand corrected. There is no way to disable ASBL on Sony TVs. In that case that basically means a big NO if you're gaming a lot.

Disabling ASBL was a life saver on my C9. No more pointless and dumb screen dimming in movies where there are extended dark or lowly lit scenes. Prior to disabling ASBL, shows like Midnight Mass, Ozark, and DARK was unwatchable.

so how?

perfect HDR with mini LED and longevity but with blooming

or lower HDR performance with perfect black but with questionable longevity due to burn in

which one will you choose?

Who told you mini LED has perfect HDR? sweat.gif

Personally I'll always choose OLED. I've used OLEDs since 2017, never once have I encountered burn-in. Seriously hate the propaganda about fear mongering towards burn-in.

seems like Sony is slowly fixing it... not sure whether this applies only to QD-OLED or models with heatsink

If your aiming the best, direct go to LG as they are the pioneer of manufacturing OLED (Yes, most OLED panel is made from LG and sold to other brands)

OLED mostly good for those who like watching a lot of dark scene movies or those galaxy, star trek base movies. If not mostly mini LED, QLED/ULED TV is sufficient for most users.

For me, since i am not that demanding and mostly stream online tv series, normal LED TV also suit most of common people.

Panel lifetime & image quality better, thats all matter to my eyes.

The rest maybe also get panel from same supplier but not as good quality. Sometime u notice smaller size tv priced more than bigger size ones.

But if its cheap enough, half price of others, or cheap enough, go as big as you wanted. I bought huge size and super comfortable to eyes.
