dont worry bro,if Italian can head it,Iker can control it laugh.gif
i think he one of the prospect to win FIFA Player Of The Year, win La Liga and always save many SOT for Madrid and also help Spain win the EURO,since C.Ronaldo out for 3 month mean Iker can win it if he continue his brilliant form in early stage in La Liga

actually iker is not famous for handling set pieces n crosses.
those are his weaknesses.
but he is one of the best in one-on-one and shot-stoping smile.gif and not to mention, recovery stops/saves

but i notice he did quite well in the Euro when handling crosses n set pieces....
punches most of them straight up to midfield rclxms.gif

Del Bosque takes over Spain reins

Vicente Del Bosque has been confirmed as the new manager of Spain, with his first match in charge a friendly with Austria on August 20.

user posted image

Del Bosque's appointment had been widely anticipated with Luis Aragones stepping down after Spain's Euro 2008 triumph.

Aragones had stated before the tournament that the summer spectacular in Austria and Switzerland would be his swansong with the national side and has since taken up a job with Fenerbahce in Turkey.

Former Real Madrid coach Del Bosque has been brought in with his first task to guide Spain to the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

A Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) spokesman said: "The president of the Spanish Football Federation Angel Maria Villar proposed the nomination of Del Bosque to the executive committee which was accepted.

"He will be presented on Thursday."

The 57-year-old's first match at the helm will be on August 20 when Spain face Austria in a friendly, and his first competitive game comes on 6th September against Bosnia in Murcia.

Spain defend first spot in FIFA ranking

ZÜRICH (SW) - Spain continue to occupy the first spot in the FIFA world ranking, while Germany surpass Italy to move into second place. With little international action in July, not many points were earned. Yet, several changes did occur as older points stopped being valid for the ranking.

Both Germany and Italy lost points that way, but the Azzurri gave up more than the Germans, who now take the second place on the table. The Netherlands climb a spot to fourth place, followed by Croatia in fifth. The first non-European team is Brazil in sixth place, with Argentina just behind in seventh.

The ranking:

1. Spain 1557
2. Germany 1343
3. Italy 1320
4. Netherlands 1299
5. Croatia 1282
6. Brazil 1242
7. Argentina 1219
8. Czech Republic 1146
9. Portugal 1122
10. Russia 1023

goals spain vs denmark match

congratz to xavi and alonso for scoring the goals rclxms.gif rclxms.gif

hoping that bosque will realize, that 4-5-1 system is the best for his team considering the squad in his disposal..spain will never look good in 4-4-2 system with villa-torres together upfront supported by wingers who are not really wingers, hence the ugly performance during the first half hmm.gif hmm.gif

and a great debut for capel as well rclxms.gif rclxms.gif silva must be sweating right now, as he has competition for a spot in the team now..but imo, while capel can make the left wing position his own in the future, silva can always be slotted into right wing

the most important thing is, go 4-5-1 smile.gif smile.gif
