You have two option.

1. Bus

Many people go to sg via Tuas Link. But the end station is either Jurong East, Boon Lay and Tuas MRT.

Bukit Indah has Causeway link bus to sg, just Google their route. Usually people will use car to park at the nearby station so u no need to use grab.

Timing depend on you how to manage. No jam, 1 hour travel time. If Tuas jam, can add up to 1 and half hour.

2. Motor.

This is more reliable but depending your end destination, might need to ride very long distance. Per day entry is 4SGD but free on public holiday. ERP only if you die die must use the road with them however Google maps can show you alternative ways without toll.

A lot of parking is 0.65SGD per day however some place might charge more. Some timing have jam but it's actually manageable.

Bukit Indah is a bit further than my place relative to tuas bridge but you are in the middle. Means you also kinda near to woodlands bridge. Also, Bukit Indah have aeon and lotus. Many shops over there so it's a mini city level.

Don't bring up car unless you 10k SGD salary. The fee is absurd and u will stuck in jam most of the time.

Thx

But what is ur mode of transport for daily travel?
How long u doing this? Wake up what time?
I assumed u already used to it. I had several coliks doing this, they macam no rasa already.

I am leaning towards carpool option(starex van etc), more comfy and can sleep in van.
i saw many go through tuas, is it less jam than woodlands?

Anyone renting in sg at the moment and is renewing their lease/getting new place?

The cost of 1 single master room (no ensuite) is like 1k+ on average, apart from some shady ones less than 1k.

Care to share any luck getting cheaper room?

1k is dirt cheap to begin with

but not including utilities right...
I just want a room for myself but I am worried that shared room may cause more problem in future

I think everthing around 1k for room is fair and acceptable..

I used work at Boon Lay, and stay at Yishun because it relatively cheaper. But to be honest, living far just not worth it. I spend 2.5hrs per day just inside train. So unproductive. Prefer do OT rather than spending inside train..

Better rent near to your workplace, eventhough abit expensive.

Where you wish to stay? Older neighbourhood like near Queenstown and Boonlay have smaller room.

I remember in 2005 rented a common room in a bishan 3 room hdb, but got a sweet deal because owner wasn’t there and let me have the whole place ( just locked the master bedroom). Rent was 700

Workplace is in CBD. I checked Yishun/Boon Lay alrd, all 1k+ except few lower ones only prefer certain gender/look dodgy.
Ya seems like everywhere also 1k+ might as well choose somewhere closer to the workplace.

I know someone who's renting a small room (single bed and small table, no window) for $900. Guess where? It's at Hougang.

Don't rent HDB room as their property tax has increased and this will cost them to increase your room rate. Go find condo bedroom better around the same price which you still can find in property guru.

Is it SGD25K+ or MYR equivalent? SGD300K per annum salary level would be at very senior levels in a bank. No reason to stay in tiny condo.

SGD25k+

my SG frens who is around the 20~30k range at best are in condos only... none have landed.. some even in HDB.

My industry pays better then banks generally... also we are fairly senior

I think he mean asrama lah.

Got many hostel in Sing where some prefer to stay because relatively cheaper..

Also bangla and Indian india are not encouraged to mingle with locals because incompability of culture so they prefer stay hostel.

Their asrama already upgaded kaw-kaw after covid.

Nowadays inside hostel complex they have supermarket, gym and GV cinema chain which shown films from south asia..

Even hostel operator listed in SGX.

I ride causeway bus, wake up 5am because my work time is 9am. I sleep at my work place if I arrive early. U can adjust timing but I choose 5am because it is the minimum travel time which is 1 hour. If jam, travel time can shot up to 2 hours plus.

Tuas is less jam but still can get jammed. Tuas has more service apartments at affordable price but the tuas bridge is compared to Woodland Bridge.
