Usually, when you bring a pump.. your friend needs it, but when not bringing. .then puncture happens bangwall:

Also if possible along the highway, try not to ride on the emergency lane unless it's really necessary to avoid the jam.

Plenty of metal debris, not only nails that can puncture your tires.

so to enter betong OR danok with a 110cc bike no need internation license right ..just to confirm

and cheapest insuran is 3 month @rm60 right?
*
Southern Thai, the authority tend to recognize Malaysia Driving License,

But if want to have long travel until north of Bangkok, I would suggest invest in 150rm IDP.

what about Krabi and phuket? do they recognise malaysia driving license? after reading your post i too think its best to just get the IDP for insurance purposes as well

The range of southern Thai is : https://goo.gl/maps/xpqKFo42eGzKy3wq6

Border of Chumphon province and below towards Malaysia border, yes Phuket and Krabi are part of Southern Thailand Region.

There are plenty of "Highway" motel in Thailand, mostly near from a Petrol station.

The only problem, it written in Thai only and you would not find it online booking sites like agoda and such.

Last petrol station : Buraq Oil https://goo.gl/maps/BXC7XhzKJzCenhEt8

Over here can buy Thai Sim Card, no Insurance Service.

Best you need to do at changlun then u turn to here.

About IDP, there's a literature running around from Internet, IF you drive/ride your own Malaysia registered vehicle, no need IDP.

But IF you rent a Thai registered vehicle, you MUST have IDP.

So don't take my word for it, its from the FB./Whatsapp groups that I pulled and summarized.

Last day of July bro.. Why? Want give me riding gears as present? Haha.. Just kidding...

And yeap, need the ext. 101 to cover for accident in Thailand right? Been discussed before somewhere here, just hope I remember correctly..
*
Extension 101 MY (your own insurance) To cover your vehicle damage while the accident happened in Kingdom of Thailand not exceeding 100k MYR.

Compulsory TH Insurance = To cover Thai Citizen body injuries/harm caused by the accident.
Voluntary TH Insurance = To cover Thai Citizen/Government properties (Car/Bike, divider, Light poles and such)

Personal Travel insurance = To cover your own Body injuries/death due to the accident happen in Thailand.

Note:

Buy from a reputable insurance agent in Malaysia, get their phone number in case of emergency, a trusted agent will help you in case of accident.

You want to skip not buying all those 4 also can. Touch wood, if anything happen with you and your bike in Thailand you on your own.

The compulsory cover 3rd party hospitality / injury also? Then I remembered wrong on this.. I thought it's just for fatal accident.. Anyway, they require way too many insurance, hence I just skip.. Would have gladly renew one year if they can compile all to one, but too bad they didn't.. So just be extra careful la.. Any ay, I just skip for Betong as it is really a small town nearby.. Hatyai or up north, I will buy for sure.. Anyway, have got myself a Wise card which I can widraw money anytime.. So at least even when I'm alone, I got cash to settle things up in case anything happen.. *touch wood*
*
The compulsory covers 3rd party Thai people's medical treatment for Injury.. the limit depends on the package insured, but the minimum is at least 30,000 bht.

I've been informed that the hospitalization and medical fee is damn expensive there. No subsidy by the Thai government.

Yes, and the quality is not as good as Malaysian medical treatment. In most of the accidents involving Malaysian that occur, Thai Hospitals just to stabilize the patient, then the family will bring back the patient ASAP.
