Someone in YouTube compared Xiaomi 13 pro camera quality with Xiaomi 12s Ultra, and according to him Xiaomi 13 pro is better than 12s ultra in camera.

( Review in Mandarin )

Yeah. Things just get better and better.
Not to mention it's gonna come with more cameras.

Can't imagine the pricing of that.

To be honest for still photos. All flagship camera are top notch. It all comes down to user preference. So yes Mi flagship camera still photos was already comparable to apple, samsung and pixel even before this. If you see people do blind picture test, apple usually don't win.

Apple advantage is in video shooting.

Ya true, it's a downgrade compared to predecessor while the price getting higher. Nowadays thing getting more and more expensive, sooner or later android flagship will sell at the same price as fruit.

To be fair still at least got GG5. Compare to the another 8 gen 2 competitor, iqoo 11 did not even come with any protection. Just that it come with faster charging, bigger and better screen but the mi 13 got ip rating.

Lol look forward for more 8 gen 2 coming then only can see which offering is better

Spec for price seem not bad, at least cheaper than both mi13 and iqoo 11. Just the downside is their slow update despite claim as near stock ROM

As well as forever no improvement on camera for taking photo and video. Those in global and china forum still make noise of the same thing apparently.

Spec and price indeed look good but this 1 I think can just kiv. No vowifi for most of their device still. Quite a let down for a flagship, really have to see whether will get better or not with this new device.

Lol lately someone asking when their edge 30 ultra will get a13 and guess what their agent in global forum said. They said the device with a13 will be launched somewhere early next year, after that then only a13 will be roll out 😅

But still mi just slightly better, mine still in November patch android 12. A13 so far info is will be roll out in January next year but those like vivo, OnePlus, Samsung already on a13 but still mi are waiting for it.... 🥲

In Malaysia, moto only good at price, their mid range and low range was awesome value for money. If want to get flagship based on track record better go for other brand. Their after sales service and support was down the drain 😂

disagree. even for flagship range there is difference especially night time photography. Try flagships like vivo x80, x80 pro, oppo find x5 pro. Their additional imaging sensor really make hell lot of difference in dark situations. It's day time photography which you would not spot much of a difference except for the color tone.

However that being said with 1 inch sensor on xiaomi 13 pro.. I'm pretty sure it will be able to take clean images even night time. Hell i'm buying it as soon as it's out.

Lol it's possible but still have to look at the price & offering first to decide. If budget is not an issue probably ppl will go for sams.

Sams software update policy & speed is better than xiaomi. As well as easier to get accessories Just that the tradeoff is much more expensive pricing and more bloatware.

Xiaomi 13 cn unacceptable in local market with lack of 4g band B7, not only lack of support for 5g but it will affect the reception of 4g as well.

All local major telco(Maxis,Digi,Celcom,U-mobile) support LTE band B1,B3 & B7.

actually previous xiaomi / redmi CN models especially some budget models also lack B7 support but still with B1,B3,B8 can also use CDMU LTE networks but will have lower speed (because B7 2600 has higher theoretical max speed)

Is this behaviour tied to phone set or it is tied to ROM ?

Eg could it be that a phone from cn when later flashed with international ROM, the problem will be fixed ?

Is tie to hardware. No way to unlock via software

I think is because licensing cost bah, and also help prevent it to be smuggle out of China before global set is out

If there is locking then there is unlocking.

For example :-

https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/unlock-l...3084774/page-14

I think it is a matter of time some tech guy will reveal the right way to accomplished this. But will likely have to wait some time, since things are very new right now.

Well that's only true if the spec on band supported listed on paper is incorrect. If what stated in the hardware spec on paper is true, then there is no way to unlock/get more band support simply through software mean.

If hardware didn't support then there is no way for software to do the job. For eg if the phone is designed with hardware that support till wifi 5 only then there is no way for it to support wifi 6 via software mean. Upward compatibility is not possible, only downward compatibility is possible. Like wifi 6 supporting

Vivo X90 pro plus is also China only right now.

This guy he bought it from China and then he used it in his country ( from the accent it seems to be UK ), and he managed to get 5G working via Vivo firmware updates.

s23 & xiaomi 13 considered compact flagship. Size wise basically s23 is similar to previous gen s22 while xiaomi 13 is to xiaomi 12. Just drop by any shopping mall and have a feel if you want.

Otherwise just wait, both model confirm a lot of display unit everywhere shortly after it launched.

Likely Xiaomi has blocked certain channels from being available in Malaysia. They are enforcing the lisensing requirements, since they are not launched in Malaysia.

What nonsense is that? If it works, it works. My mi11 ultra CN on 5G gets over 900MBPS on speedtest on unifi mobile.

Unifi Mobile and yes is special, can use tdd lte (b38/b40) which china set must support because one of china carriers use the same tdd network and bands

For CN set that missing band 7 support, maybe will lose some speed. Although i believe for most areas the lte reception will be largely unaffected for CDMU (FDD lte carriers) users

Missing b28 will means will miss the 5g network support, but this might change in the future when DNB implement standalone 5g network

If you still want to get cn set then go ahead, no one stopping you anyway

Usually is just xiaomi and maybe budget oriented brands and on model to model basis

Oppo/oneplus, vivo/iqoo are not as restrictive as xiaomi because they don't have much cost / licensing concerns

Quoted from Soyacincau.

Those of you who pre-order the Xiaomi 13 on their official store on Lazada and Shopee will be able to redeem a RM699 voucher for it, while the Xiaomi 13 Pro will come with a RM799 voucher instead. However, if you pre-order the Xiaomi 13 from a Xiaomi Store, you’ll be able to get a free Xiaomi TV P1 43″ worth RM1,799. Similarly, if you pre-order the 256GB Xiaomi 13 Pro, you stand to snag a free Xiaomi TV A2 58″ worth RM2,799

Means Free TV only available if Pre order from Physical Xiaomi Store?

Shopee/Lazada only have free voucher

I think those that managed to placed order via their website will entitle the free TV.
There is a list of Xiaomi retail store for us to choose as our pickup, once sold out, the store will be greyed out.

If they dont have enough stock, should cancel our order instead of ask us take another pre-order deal.

Xiaomi 13, more than enough, tbf any smartphone these days more than RM3,000 should be enough for daily use.

Imo I prefer Xiaomi 13 over Xiaomi 13 Pro, is because of flat screen compared to curved screen on Xiaomi 13 Pro.

i was thinking of buying xiaomi 13 pro because of bigger lens camera and better deal (free tv can be sold for rm1.8k). So in total the phone itself will cost around RM2.8k.

but then, i prefer flat screen & just need the fastest cpu since i play games a lot. So i pre-ordererd xiaomi 13 (white) & plan to sell the tv quickly for about rm1.2k. So the phone itself will cost around RM2.3k which is not bad if i compare it with xiaomi 12t pro ~RM2.4k (was planning to buy it before) nod.gif

Ya the free tv is not bad. In a way better value than the 12t pro, just have to go through the hassle lf selling the tv. I think you will face some difficulty selling the tv at 1.2k, the new 1 retail online can find it as below 1k during upcoming lazada sales.

Ya the free tv is not bad. In a way better value than the 12t pro, just have to go through the hassle lf selling the tv. I think you will face some difficulty selling the tv at 1.2k, the new 1 retail online can find it as below 1k during upcoming lazada sales.
*
Oh, thanks for the info. I totally forgot about the Lazada bonus discount

Are there any good or nice phone cases that feel nice to the touch?

just notice the pre-order free TV u need to rush and grab on the collection date as per their 1st come 1st serve basis, their 1st come 1st serve is not you pre-ordered and done the deposite to secure a your entitlement, it is not that after u have done pre-ordered and paid the deposit you are entitiled for their free TV. They have misleading their customer.

Maybe anyone can double confirm?

If you got such a feedback then should be fine. I heard someone saying upon ordering there are some word in red mentioning first come first serve basis while stock last, probably is up to the seller arrangement.

Tv wise I think not easy to sell. Why buy second hand when they can buy a new one with warranty somemore. Worst case scenario you can just keep it for your own use.

Lol. In my understanding, after retailer sold to end user and end user trying to sell to someone else then consider 2nd or 3th hand 😂

Regarding warranty, I suppose warranty period is start once you collect the tv as per receipt and when looking for buyer, sure need spend sometime then affected the warranty period.

They buy direct from retailer won't face this kind of issues and deliver to their doorstep somemore. Really cannot compare, unless u guys offering much cheaper than retailer or else why buy from end user 😅

To me 2nd hand means unsealed and used.
Else still consider brand new.
Most reseller import phone from China to sell here, those are still considered brand new.

But yes, definitely people are selling way way cheaper than retail price.

Lol. Ok, that's fine. Good luck for all those that are trying to sell the tv. If cannot sell, just keep for own use only. With TV, the value is not bad. Without the TV then they really too ambitious with the pricing especially the 13 pro 😂

Agreed, without free TV totally not worthy.
Rather go for Samsung S23 series.
Else like some said, wait for few months, the price will drop significantly

mi 13 pro pre order sold out as announced by them in fb. still have mi 13 and the limited edition.

look back previous lei jun video, in 2020 he said xiaomi will strive for premium flagship category. since then emerge t series and poco series for flagship killer.

which also explain why their top series increased price and start to put in more thing for a proper flagship like ip68 those and partnership with leica. also they introduce ultra series back in 2020 too.

The 1k lesser seem like doesn't worth it. Pre order with retailer got tv but I suppose most probably now already oos.

Otherwise preorder through lazada or shopee got 699 voucher for xiaomi 13 and 799 for 13 pro and come with 2 year warranty. Considering the voucher and whole package, I personally don't think is worth to go for china set.

Anyhow today is the last day of pre order. If want can order now, otherwise knowing xiaomi, later they have have some roadshow with some gift to grab.

Meh. The S23 lineup have better image and especially video quality than Xiaomi 13.

But then again, all the latest flagship phones have at least above average camera quality so it's more of a personal preference.

As for the screen display, Samsung's flagship devices will always be superior than any other brand

Not sure for sedan car is it enough space to take it.

Just confirmed with Mi Store that my phone and TV is ready to be collect tomorrow.

Got to give thumbs up to Xiaomi for being so efficient.
Not sure how many units they sold with free TV

As what I know still have. Lazada or Samsung own website still advertising free watch. Just that Samsung own website can trade in phone for 600 less and installment.

Lol camera wise is depend on post photo processing. Spec might play a role but not an definite answer. As my understanding Samsung got better post photo processing than 13 pro but that is comparing s23 ultra with it. I hardly see anyone compare S23+ with 13 pro.

Another perk is Samsung on and off got some free stuff over their app store while xiaomi got nothing. For now I think they got free YouTube premium, cloud and some other thing. If you are interested can have a look at s23 threat. That side actually is much more lively 😂

2nd person to collect. the first guy thought got tv come and queue at 9am but the shop open at 10am.

anyway from the sales person pre order list. probably 10 phone for each branch and mixture of 13 and 13 pro in those 10 phones.

Well done Xiaomi!

Phone comes with pre-installed screen protector and transparent casing.
And most importantly the 120w charger is included.

just use back the email u used for pre order booking. however, remember to cancel on time around september in order for them to not bill u on the next 6 months? is a 2tb google 1 storage for 1 year subscription.

have u play around with the phone already?

i use google copy service to clone all my data through wifi hotspot (around 30-40 MBps or 240-270Mbps) and finish clone 100g + data in a hour or so. i think much faster than move to desktop and move back phone, or upload to cloud and download back again from cloud.

for the ltpo screen, it didnt adjust accordingly even without battery saver mode. if use battery saver the screen will always stuck with 60 fps. to view screen fps, go to developer mode to find the setting.

as for the wallpaper, i wanna use back my old wall paper but 1 time the whole lockscreen jam because of the wallpaper apps xiaomi keep pushing it.

the rest is ok, and i can see significant improvement on camera compare to my poco f3 due to the OIS.

also got my tv already ytd. they didnt deliver all 10 tvs to the shop, but i was lucky because the tv arrived was the 58inch 1.

the sales person took my photo with the tv but it didnt appear in their fb post earlier just now.

getapps, game boost and a few google related apps that i dont use cannot uninstall.

they did improve abit on system storage as now it consume less gb to store system apps than my poco f3.

also just found out the second sim is hybrid esim. i also havent put in my sim to test out the battery life. phone is heavier on top than bottom.

Yes, I do noticed the storage consumption was acceptable.
Just need to remove all removable bloatware.

Havent really try on it but yes the camera is bulky, therefore top will definitely be heavier.

My wife prefer Xiaomi 13, much nicer to hold.

Too bad, i preorder the wrong version biggrin.gif

yes, is 2tb, but the subscription is for 1 year, so xiaomi pay for you the first half year, second half year rm 42.99 per month.

for 2tb it is 42.99 per month or 429.99 per year (discount 2 months fee)

when u accept the offer, you automatically subbed to 1 year contract.

but, i saw somewhere in the agreement if u cancel latest by september certain date, u wont be charge rm 42.99 for the subsequent 6 months (but that also terminate your 2tb access).

problem with vivo phone in msia is they only bring the basic and mid spec in... the highest spec only sell in china... so no matter how good is the camera is, i also wont buy vivo flagship anymore til they bring the best spec come in msia... no matter what, snapdragon still the best chip for long term usage compare to mediatek flagship chip

It seems that many people import vivo flagship from fastech Lim. The other reason people don't buy CN set is the delay in WhatsApp notification claimed by many people. Warranty wise, he is known to be reliable.

Phone model also very important. I bought a Motorola local set. Problem time had difficulties looking for a service center. The website is not detailed and updated. Even walked to Lowyat and found out service center tutup kedai. Went to plaza berjaya also cannot find the shop assuming the service center also tutup kedai. Finally I go to endah perade and found out it moved to another floor. What an hassle just to fix the phone under warranty. Website info not updated at all.
Next time won't buy cold phones anymore. I think fastech service even better than local Motorola warranty. Now my phone still in service center not sure whether they can fix it or not.

S23 ultra little bit more expensive but still better than xiaomi 13 pro as it come with stylus, better update speed, policy as well as bigger user base. Photo and video taking also better.

With current 13 pro offering, I don't see any reason to choose it but not s23 ultra. The thread for s23 ultra is 400+, while here only 10+. It's quite obvious which 1 is better in consumer point of view.

Xiaomi i find the setting inside really messy after all this yrs still messy. And update really hit and miss if not wrong. Samsung at least there is monthly security patch for it. Wanted to try the 13 or pro but after seeing the price, without the pre order gift i think i better go for samseng.

P.s: Just ordered the oppo find x6 pro from a friend, import from China rclxm9.gif

u meant s23+ is more or less same price with mi 13 pro right?

rm 4699 vs rm 4599. without comparing free gift.

s23 ultra 256gb is rm 5699 which is 1.1k more.

1tb s23 ultra 512gb will be rm 6199 while 1tb coming soon is going to sell for rm 7199.

s23 ultra should compare to coming soon mi 13 ultra.

but i think mi 13 ultra probably max out at rm 4999 probably and may not go global.

Ultra previously got news saying gonna launch global but Malaysia market then hard to say. With current offering of xiaomi 13 pro without the free tv, I think the sales won't be good.

If acceptance of 13 pro with such a price point is so low. Then I don't think xiaomi Malaysia will launch ultra here. Simply no point if the unit sold at the end is very low.

Yes, tbh, I wont spend rm4599 for Xiaomi Pro.
After selling free TV, rm3099 for Xiaomi 13 Pro, then quite good deal.

I believe they wont bring in 13 Ultra, even 12 Ultra is not available in MY market.
I think their best selling phone is mid range like Redmi and POCO

Me never liked China phone since day 1 laugh.gif

Still not itching s23 ultra even if 8 gen 2 quite tempting🤭😂🤣

Ultra previously got news saying gonna launch global but Malaysia market then hard to say. With current offering of xiaomi 13 pro without the free tv, I think the sales won't be good.

If acceptance of 13 pro with such a price point is so low. Then I don't think xiaomi Malaysia will launch ultra here. Simply no point if the unit sold at the end is very low.

FFS as long as currency kept dropping like 911 i doubt we will ever get an ultra for less than RM2.5k already doh.gif rclxub.gif shakehead.gif

Usually phones from China, with regards to how they implement their radio is more haphazard than say Samsung, who do more rigourous tests to ensure compatability with a certain network. So phones from Vivo, Xiaomi, Oppo etc. will usually work rather than devices from Google or Apple for example.

So far my wife quite happy with it.

Great screen, great speaker, great camera and battery can last her whole day.
120w will do the magic for heavy user.
Only thing is MIUI wasn't that great.
Many bloatware and a bit confusing.

But with 13 pro at 4699, the ultra gonna be more than 5k. In other western countries it's gonna be so much more expensive.

Maybe that's why oppo say may not release find x6 pro outside China. Too expensive liao.

Now a lot of used 12S ultra on sale. They wanna sell off before 13 Ultra launch next week.
It's tempting but I am not dare haha. Using Pixel 6a now, which is a nice budget phone and it's very stable. No need tweak here and there. But the camera is not flagship.

If your phone fulfill all your need then no point to change also. Smart phone photo taking is highly dependant on post software processing instead of hardware alone.

True but u also see their shots and can evaluate yourself. One thing I like about honor it is super fast shots and in focus. Xiaomi also fast but honor seems to have better focus. It can become a camera u can rely on. I just dunno why their pic got a sort of blue tint which is more apparent in indoor n low light condition. You can take a pic of a white neon sign n it will look blue.

Not only that. Specifically, all the phones with 1-inch sensor are curvy display and large phones. I wish Xiaomi would opt for the same main sensor for Xiaomi 13, like how the iPhone 14 Pro has the same main sensor as iPhone 14 Pro Max.

For layman yes. Majority will think 1 inch is the best but ignore the fact that post photo processing also play an important role.

Pixel 6a don't have a big sensor like a lot of phone but they can come out with a nice picture simply because of the post software processing.

For layman yes. Majority will think 1 inch is the best but ignore the fact that post photo processing also play an important role.

Pixel 6a don't have a big sensor like a lot of phone but they can come out with a nice picture simply because of the post software processing.

IMHO, the multi-exposure stacking and AI post processing of nowadays smart phone are really good, especially night mode. But there is still one thing that they could not get it right: bokeh.
The bokeh algorithm in portrait mode is still too fake. I would not use it at all.

Hence, a 1-inch sensor with f/1.9 aperture does make a lot of difference. From my calculation, it is equivalent to f/5.18 if converted to 35-mm full-frame camera size. Vivo X90 Pro/Pro+ have even larger aperture (f/1.75 -> f/4.77 35-mm eq.). FYI, APS-C sensor with a f/2.8 lens has an f/4.28 35-mm eq. aperture. So we are getting close. At lowlight, Xiaomi 13 Pro/12S Ultra/Vivo X90 Pro/X90 Pro+ would destroy micro 4/3, and even some APS-C cameras once the phone start to use night mode, due to multi exposure stacking.

Another thing is, most flagship smart phones have too much sharpening. This is due to the stupid DxO mark race. So far, I find outputs from Vivo X90 Pro/Pro+ and Xiaomi 12S Ultra/13 Pro have relatively low sharpening compared to Huawei (excessive sharpening) and Pixels. However, it is still a tad too high to my taste.

There is overprocessing from Samsung phones as well. Here's a more recent article to showcase this.
https://www.gizchina.com/2023/04/13/xiaomi-...14-pro-tremble/

I am impressed with Xiaomi's picture output these years, even better than the Pixels IMHO. One thing I really like is that Xiaomi usually keeps shadows way darker than other manufacturers like Samsung. Shadows supposed to be shadows la, not brightened up... which is why I always disagree with many camera reviews on youtube.

Plus Xiaomi's camera output is leaning towards the neutral side which gives bigger headroom for editing later on.

1) Any advertisements in the phone? I'm waiting for the 13 Ultra
2) How many app could be kept in the background without being killed? Which app just resumes exactly where you left it off?
3) Any Pixel or OnePlus owner have migrated to MIUI and finds it to be quite ok? TBH, I don't like how MIUI looks at all.
4) Can use 3rd party launcher like Nova launcher with the phone?

1) no ads at all, be sure to turn it off during setup. last time when i use xiaomi own music player they will still push ads, but just now i try no longer push ads. the music player partner with joox and you can play youtube those video in the background like a youtube vanced.

13 ultra just confirmed to have china star c7 2k ltpo display that boost to 2600 nits. 13 pro is using samsung e6 2k ltpo display. 13 ultra will have another 5x zoom camera and the 3.2x, ultra wide angle sensors all will use sony 50mp imx858 sensor . main camera still sony imx989. 13 pro using samsung jn1 sensor for their zoom and ultrawide lens. also 13 ultra will have variable aperture on their camera like in huawei.

2) i never try gaming apps before, but sometimes i have 10+ apps on my background and my youtube will still stay the same spot from the time i go in office until i leave office. also if you dont kill apps at all, when ur ram left 1-2 gb u will start to feel it is slowing down. i didnt extend my ram by borrowing 3gb of internal storage (there is an option to do so if you want)

3) not one plus nor pixel user

4) android phone should have no problem to use other launcher, but maybe some feature may not available if you put it in xiaomi phone, for example, gesture button. anyway i still using miui skin.

that cos 13 ultra is exclusively made of silica-synthetic leather which is much lighter than glass or ceramic

some people may swear of synthetic leather because wear and tear is more apparent on that. let's see how xiaomi claimed improved material can do

Synthetic leather is great if you constantly use or touch the leather, but the problem is when you don't use it over long periods of time (ie you never touched it in like 4 years), it will melt down naturally.

But of course, back to Xiaomi 13 Ultra, it is priced so close (in China) to Pro variant and with important improvements for its target custome like USB 3.2, Much better Ultra Wide, Better Telephoto, better Display and better battery.

I have a mi 11 ultra & I don't trust xiaomi quality anymore. The cameras are super good, more good than even my s22 ultra, 8k recording on all cameras, super clear smooth 4k60 on all cameras.

But but but xiaomi is using cheap no quality amoled as the screen that hurts my eyes & eye ball turn red. Scary shit from xiaomi.

My Oppo Find X2 Pro, Note 10+, S22 Ultra, Xiaoxin pad pro 12.6 don't give me such a problem.

Wanna sell but shopee set no more warranty, wanna trade in to install cash but value no value at all ridiculous

11 ultra display is from samsung too. so if there is any dc dimming/pwm dimming/blue light filter and so on, it is from that samsung display.

this 13 ultra use china star display that has better dc dimming and pwm dimming than samsung e6 display on 13 pro.

saw chinese reviewer try out the cameras already, the 3.2x zoom does not have variable focus length like 13 pro, and sony sensor has smaller pixel size but bigger aperture than the samsung sensor in 13 pro.

but they have 6 zoom point, 0.6x 1x , 2x (lossless digital zoom) 3.2x, 5x, and 10x (lossless digital zoom)

so the camera basically cover lots of area.

also the battery upgrade is negligible since the china star display consume more power than samsung display

Yeah, you're right. The reviews in China just came out, Xiaomi 13 Ultra has about 5 to 20 minutes more SoT than Xiaomi 13 Pro, very negligible. Reviewers praise that the Xiaomi 13 Ultra has great camera hardware (i.e. First variable aperture IMX989 and 3 IMX858 flagship supporting sensors), but the camera software has not been matured, auto mode shots perform a bit worse than iPhone 14 Pro, Find X6 Pro and P60 Pro, but still the better hardware is there, hopefully Xiaomi improves their software to accomodate new hardware.

The best example I saw from one Chinese reviewer(@zhongwenzhe) was that when he was taking a photo in a cafe with high brightness, the phone still defaulted to f/1.9 (this aperture is better for low light), instead of utilising the new variable hardware aperture of f/4.0 automatically for the better shot, and he had to adjust the aperture manually in settings. And at f/4.0 the photo does look more real with the colours pop.

The current sentiment from the reviews is that the Xiaomi 13 Ultra is better suited for those who want to tinker with their images and videos for a better result, but for auto mode point and shoot, something like Huawei, Oppo or Vivo is surprisingly better.

Agreed even in Chinese reviews, I prefer the shots from Oppo, Xiaomi currently is facing a similar situation of Sony (VERY great hardware, software is holding it back from being exceptional)

Personally want to upgrade my current Xiaomi to the next Xiaomi though, but this generation seems like pioneer, next year Ultra could be the best refinement.

Interesting. One thing to note though is that most camera reviewers does not mention which exact Leica colour profile was used - Vibrant or Authentic. I think it should be the vibrant mode which is set as default.

For the previous Mi 13 pre-orders, the RM699/799 vouchers can minus off the total price if pre-order from Shopee/Lazada?

Judging from previous replies, macam no.

If the same promo will be for the Mi 13 Ultra as well, the freebies if pre-ordering from Xiaomi outlets should be better value than online hmm.gif

And for those who got the TV as a freebie, how quick could you sell it off and at what % loss?

Those of you who pre-order the Xiaomi 13 on their official store on Lazada and Shopee will be able to redeem a RM699 voucher for it, while the Xiaomi 13 Pro will come with a RM799 voucher instead.

they can....if they are able to polish their UI and release patches accordingly.

xiaomi is none other than just hardware vendor that does not really live up to expectation in software department.

glad that xiaomi is pushing their limits further, they're doing extemely good in almost every aspects (display, cooling capabilities etc). not to forget vivo (x90 pro+) and oppo (x6 pro) are also trading blows with xiaomi. difference is that xiaomi is available worldwide, giving a huge edge.
make miui great again and they'd be perfect

Can anyone confirm that, Mi13 with MIUI 14, ringtone and notification volume must be set together and not separately? When we press on the volume button (+/-), it will always set for media volume and not ringtone volume?

Using Redmi 9s now on MIUI13, it's my 2nd Xiaomi phone.

May I know if latest stock OS (MIUI 14) still kills "autostart" for our apps?
In my phone, the autostart will always becomes unchecked even if I don't switch off/reboot phone. This has caused problem for me as I'm using Garmin watch and Garmin Connect sometimes doesn't send notification to my phone due to this autostart being switched off automatically.

Anyone facing micro stutter on some app like youtube or chrome (on the suggested pages listing, and not when you visit a website), Shoppe, specially when the app is first loaded. Once you scroll up and down for second time on the app, then the stutter will gone. I have even set to force to use 120Hz on all the app, but still the same.

Don't buy cn set if possible. Quite often heard ppl mentioning on notification issue.

Local set is more for peace of mind in term of warranty and network access. Local set if got network issue you still can complaint and Telco will layan u.

Just get other brand or model if local set not up to your budget. So many choices out there and there must be a model that meet your requirement.

If the Mi 13 Ultra is truly at RM5,299, I feel it is also worth considering the Sony Xperia 1 V (going for RM6,399) which has the least amount of processing/sharpening in the camera department.

But then I came across this video and I definitely made up my mind to get the 13U. The 13U is way sharper, has darker shadows, higher contrast/tonality across all lenses including video recording. However, I do find the shadows on the 13U to be a bit too dark.

The Sony, on the other hand, is way too bland/washed out colours and lacking contrast, though which can actually be a good thing as there is a bigger headroom for the editing process.

One of the Xiaomi store sales person told me that the MI 13 Ultra might be a limited release with a small number of stock...

The Mi 11 Ultra was the same case previously...pre orders ran for a few weeks then totally disappeared

Update: called up another xiaomi store and they said green colour is confirmed for now. DirectD has only like 400+ and only around 1200 units for whole Malaysia. Freebies would be 1+1 warranty and a photo printer. Pre order will start on 23 June apparently..

I'm really hoping they would include the exclusive photography accessories

Depends on what you are looking for.

I find the 13 Ultra to have much better colours than any Samsung or Iphone most of the time. Much less sharpening, darker shadows and more natural colours. It is indeed a camera focused device with the Leica lenses which covers 3.2x and 5x zoom ranges.

As a phone itself, the 13U has best in class peak brightness and great legibility under direct sunlight, SD Gen 2 processor with 12 GB Ram/512GB SSD, 5000mAh battery with 90W charging, IP68 bla bla bla

You could argue for Samsung that One UI is nicer/more user friendly than MIUI, offers 4 years vs Xiaomi's 3 years of OS upgrades or that S23U has an SPen and has better battery life.

yeah, even HONOR Magic5 Pro looks to be better deal.

i know DXOMark can be controversial, but if someone is solely looking at this, the 13 Ultra did kinda badly...

not sure what you mean by "long term" and "flagship"... not sure if T series count.

i was using Mi 10T Pro. it died on my within the first year. luckily known issue and Xiaomi was generous enough to replace it with Mi 11T Pro instead. 1+ year later, battery is started to deteriorate. 1-2 others in the thread said similar thing happening with their phone.

nothing much to complain but nothing to gloat about when it comes to Mi phones. the have the "ads", which you can remove. they call it "recommendations". there are little bugs here and there, but not deal breakers. the thing is... i got that 10T Pro at about rm2k. so, for that price... ok la. but if it's going to be rm5k... and mediocre performance, i'd be kinda upset.

A little hesitant about getting the 13U if they don't have a good durability track record since I will be using it mostly overseas.
As warranty/ repairability is out of the question.
But the camera system though wub.gif

Definitely a valid concern.

However, I do always have this feeling that the bad comments you see in the forums are mostly isolated. Also, I think people tend to post bad comments/complaints online compared to praising the phone. And the vast majority who have no issues with the phone don't even participate in online forum discussions.

My previous phones never really had major issues despite there being like death loop issues or display having green/pink tint etc which "plagued" my current Pixel 3 XL or my previous One Plus 3

Btw is the 13U available in the country you are always traveling to?

I have the Mi 9 and currently using Xiaomi 12. My Mi 9 is rooted, installed Xiaomi.eu but thinking of going AOSP on it. My Xiaomi 12 is working fine, no issues so far and 5G works without any issues. Was thinking of getting the Xiaomi 13 Ultra but at that price I will pass. I am not buying a phone at nearly the same price as a computer. Might as well I look for a second hand Xiaomi 12S Ultra and play around with it.

Ohh just realised I sold my Fuji X70 to you laugh.gif How is it doing? haha

I'm currently have the Fuji X-A7 but hoping the 13U can be good enough to replace it but night shots will be a challenge..

It's doing fine haha. Just the hassle of taking out SD cards to read using a laptop etc. Other than that, it's amazing. :-P
Oh I thought big sensor phone camera has some upper hands in static objects using their night mode? It's only challenging when they are objects moving around.

Fuji colour science really amazing straight out of camera biggrin.gif

This review below at 2:03 mentioned night mode shots come out much brighter apparently. Yeah I think for static objects not really a problem but I'm concerned about taking pictures of the family in low light where the night mode settings might make the colours really off but I really got to test this hmm.gif

Maybe for night shots of the family I may shoot in raw and post process in Adobe lightroom mobile, heard the 13U camera profile is available there..

Some annoying things about the 13U camera:

Update: Tested the phone today and I tested item 2 but there is no such issue, after closing the app and killing it, it still defaults to the last setting..

QUOTE
Regardless of the mode, when the 13 Ultra detects a human face, it will automatically increase the exposure for you. I have not found a way to turn off this feature, which is really annoying to take pictures in crowded environments.

QUOTE
Another annoying thing is that sometimes it can’t remember your choices. For example, HDR is always on, and video recording always defaults to 1080p 30fps. even if you have changed to 4k, the next time you open the camera it will still change back to 1080p.

Can confirm the 2 annoying things is present especially increasing brightness when faces are detected. Can somewhat circumvent it by holding the screen and push brightness slider down or using pro mode and using -0.7EV. Xiaomi should really put the auto brightening function as an option instead of forcing it on users.

The phone also sometimes cannot remember the last settings even if this option is turned on

And would always recommend to shoot underexposed than overexposed, pictures look better when you increase brightness and lift shadows than to reduce brightness and recover highlights.

The game honkai star rail will be killed in the background after a while of not using it but if you need to use the app frequently, can just pin it as a small pop up window...
(Disclaimer: phone is on balanced battery mode and not performance)

Video field of view on the main lens is still cropped, I think roughly 30-35mm or so instead of the native 23mm focal length.

Zooming in and out using all the lenses in 4k is possible but only at 30fps. If you use 60fps, only zooming in is allowed but it will be digital and you cannot utilise the 2 telephoto lenses.

90w boosted charging is super fast but phone gets quite warm. Suggest to get a fan to blow on it while charging.

And I don't see any advertisements anywhere at all.

Any future buyers, suggest to get DirectD's one time front glass replacement for RM169 only which is for 1 year.

13 pro is being phased out according to several sales personnel.

Think you better decide quickly, the ultra version is limited, once it is gone it is gone.

If you are a fan of Sony colour science, can consider the Xperia 1 V but that's a phone you almost always have to post process every picture

Is 2.4k a good price for Xiaomi 13 pro ? (Brand new) It is much more affordable now and compared to others like Oneplus 11 this has a much better camera hardware and premium build.

Anyone using the China version 13 Ultra?

The price difference between the Cn version & local units is quite significant.. over RM 1k cheaper for the Cn one and prices might drop further as the Xiaomi 14 will be launching soon there (Q4?). Very tempting..

I suppose the same caveats with the Cn 13 Pro will also apply such as nonfunctioning 5G in Msia. Would like to hear actual user experiences if any.

So far only MIX line is hardware wise truely global for 2021-2023 CN models

The rest of CN models lacks support for b28, so no support for current NSA system. Need to wait for SA (standalone) to launch by either DNB or second network

Did Xiaomi update the Master Lens Systems so that each lens is not fixed to a certain filter?

if it comes with bugs better dont roll out so fast. really very minimal changes but the file size is 5gb+.

what i can notice is that long press shutdown menu become sliding up and down to reboot/off.

data rate display on left now on the right.

swiping down on left side to see notification right side to fast setting now change to search when u swipe down. have to revert it back to previous way because it is more usable than the search function.

so far no issue with dual apps function. sometimes users dual apps like whatsapp getting wiped after update. so be careful on that.

There are benefits also when they roll out faster. Bug can be noticed and addressed much earlier.

Xiaomi definitely stopped production for 13 and 13 Pro already, since they announced 13T and 13T Pro early October. And then Xiaomi 14 announcement is on October 27 😏

But hopefully the clearance sale during 11.11 will shock us 😉

The 13 Pro is a different monster. I think it has one of the best practical telephoto lens.
But with the 14 series looming, it's a bit hard to sell.

13 Pro still better than the T series. Why unable to sell unless you put a very high price?

I'm based in Ho Chi Minh City, 13 Pro still selling very well, coz the selling price is cheaper than 13T Pro. Around RM2.4k for base mode. 13 Ultra around RM3.2k.

HyperOS is still Android based, Xiaomi is just streamlining the naming scheme, so that whether their Android phones, Linux smartwatches or Android CarPlay system, all are called HyperOS.

And of course, they adding improved cross-link functionality across Xiaomi HyperOS devices with other HyperOS devices.

But I don't recommend buying Xiaomi 14 now, because Xiaomi 14 OS is China only, HyperOS global ROM only arriving on January 2024 same time as global launch of Xiaomi 14.

Lmao yeah. Actually currently based on globally available models, Xiaomi's hierarchy is

Xiaomi 13 Ultra > Xiaomi 13 Pro > Xiaomi 13 > Xiaomi 13T Pro > Xiaomi 13T

If add the Xiaomi 14, then the camera hierarchy is now

Xiaomi 13 Ultra > Xiaomi 13 Pro = Xiaomi 14 Pro > Xiaomi 14 > Xiaomi 13 > Xiaomi 13T Pro > Xiaomi 13T

Still the differences is very very minor for casual users, so the best value for money is Xiaomi 13T 😝

Free tv was during the preorder which is the best deal for Malaysia set to date. No offence chill. Even I looking at the my set second mostly is selling 2.5-2.6k, while the new set hardly see below 3k.

1.6k definitely a steal. I saw from shopee and fastech 12+256gb still running at 2.7-2.8k. 1.6k gonna be bargain

Don't buy... Wait for 14 pro or go for s23 ultra if rushing. The lowest I have seem for s23 ultra is 3.7k for previous 10.10 sales. It might be lower for next week 11.11 sales.

Considering you don't read Chinese, why go for import and china set. Even if seller flash global ROM for you, it's not worth the price and hassle. China ROM cannot even get local support and 5G somemore.

Depending which model of iphone you are having, the camera performance are sort of downgrading if go for xiaomi. S23 ultra is much better choice unless you die die wanna get xiaomi then better wait for xiaomi 14 pro.

Please avoid China set... Always buy local Malaysia set for the 2 year warranty and also for the LTE and 5G bands to avoid connectivity issues.

If you want to switch back to Xiaomi Android Phones now, wait for upcoming double 11.11 sales in Lazada to either buy

1. Xiaomi 13T (under RM2000)
2. Xiaomi 13 (under RM3000)
2. Xiaomi 13 Ultra (under RM4000)

Else wait for Xiaomi 14 series launching locally on January 2024.

Other brands, you can ask in other threads, but generally Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra and Honor Magic 5 series are the best priced flagship Androids in Malaysia.

I can get 5g on my china set, I bought the Xiaomi 12 S. I will say depends on the support, some China set sellers provide warranty and one to one exchange for a certain period.

Current prices :

Mi 12S - 1.4k
Mi 12S Pro - 1.6k
Mi 12S Ultra - 2.2k
Mi 13 - 2.2k
Mi 13 Pro - 2.4k
Mi 13 Ultra - 3k.
Mi 14 - 3K

I can see some used sellers already selling their 13 Pro slightly below RM2k now that 14/Pro are launched. Below RM2k for 13 Pro is hard to resist.

Some seller desperate to sell because of Mi 14: already started selling and In few months will drop from 3k to 2.5k. Now I know why Fastech Lim selling so well in Malaysia, coz he does offer some support as well and overall still a good bargain.

China set sure is cheap but come with a tradeoff of no support. Unless those changing on yearly basis otherwise better don't get china set.

Although when buying seller will offer 1 year warranty but it still have to go through a lengthy process of claiming warranty if something happen, it can go up to 3 weeks as it have to send to china.

After 1 year then confirm seller will charge a certain fee for sending the phone over to china or pursued customer to buy a new 1 instead. Just get local set for peace of mind and nowadays xiaomi local set are offering 2 years warranty.

Yes you pay for what you get, for me is not much difference in support, only if you have screen warranty then it make it worthwhile because that's the most expensive part to repair, some new phones in Malaysia also may not have 1 year screen warranty then you're not much better off when you drop your phone and pay the same thing for repair. The rest of the parts can be repaired in the same day if it's a popular phone like Xiaomi most shops will have spare parts. In reality phones not worth to keep for long time, after 1 year the phone already worth half the price, 2 years just worth paper weight. My previous phone was a Mi 12 Pro, which can also use Global rom, runs 5G etc. I just use for a few months and sold it at a profit ( because Malaysian prices are higher by 30-40%) upgraded to next generation one for free 😄

The tricky part with import set is not the cost of the part but when issue arise there are hardly got shop that can repair for it and the labour incurred.

Even if some third party phone repair shop can do it but it will take quite some time for them to order part etc etc. The good thing of official device is if anything arise can just drop by to official service centre and get the job done much quicker.

If you are happy with china set then just go ahead. It's just not my cup of tea and it will be getting more and more difficult to repair at local store as import device are getting much less popular. Ppl tend to go for local set for peace of mind and tax deduction in some cases. Hence it make less sense for ppl to keep spare part especially less popular android.

If you are saying on iphone or Samsung then it might be easy to get the part but definitely not for other brand.

14 pro is actually much cheaper than 13 pro when launch in china

12gb 256gb 13 pro is 5799 yuan when launch and 12gb 256gb 14 pro is 4999 yuan.

thats why i check ap set for 14 pro is the same price of 13 pro ap set 6 month later.

i think when 14 pro launch in msia if bundle with tv probably will be the same price of 13 pro or even cheaper.

the reason they want sell cheaper bcuz using china led display, camera sensor, and the return of huawei chip in flagship area

Tax deductions also work for any phone bought in Malaysia whether China or local origin, as long as you buy it from local company with proof of receipt.

Actually Xiaomi is one of the very popular and easy to find parts. I once sent one out warranty Xiaomi phone it only took a day to get it fixed. Others like IQoo, Google Pixel, Motorola then I'd worry about getting it.

Due to the huge price gaps of China and local phones, there is a loophole that allows China phones to be sold at a profit even after using for few months, then keep upgrading new versions for free. This can only be done if you know where to buy it at the original price.

Nothing wrong buying local or China, but since I can take advantage of the much lower prices and I travel often (not based in Malaysia), I get to use the latest phones almost half the price of local ones. For example I see Xiaomi 13 Pro 2nd hand being sold for RM3.4k in KL, but I can get one for RM1.9k, use a few months, sell it for 2.5k then buy the Xiaomi 14 for free. And all these phones are under warranty too, in my case it's a no brainer.

It's nothing wrong to buy import or local. Everyone is allow to make their own decision for their money. Regarding the part wise, I believe it's depending on how popular is the device.

In Malaysia the third party repair shop is never on par with official service centre regarding to part availability. The part is definitely more easily available for apple and Samsung due to it popularity.

Since you travel a lot then it doesn't matter you buy local or not but for majority of consumer that spend majority of time in Malaysia buying official device is always a better choice for peace of mind.

Well to keep it simple, just spend according to everyone personal preference and there are no right or wrong in this matter.

Yes buy what is suitable for you. Xiaomi 14 launching price is now selling lower than Xiaomi 13 series (around 2.8k onwards), I see a lot of 13/13 Pro owners dumping their phones in the 2nd hand market just after few months below RM2k for both models. With phone release every 6 months or so even new models get old fast. My only issue is need to inform bank each time I transfer to new phone otherwise they may temporarily ban the account.

For me no difference coz I'm based overseas so most important is it works well, comes with some warranty and has parts available easily. Also models like 13 Pro can flash to Global rom easily and no problems with 5G (not sure about Malaysia)

Xiaomi 14 drop price again some sellers selling RM2.4k already 😱 hard to keep touch with so fast changes. I think I'll be happy to go with Xiaomi 13 Pro with it's 1 inch sensor, now that it drop below RM2k.

For Malaysia sellers you can check with sellers like Fastech Lim, he is now selling the Xiaomi 14 at RM2.8k only.

I don't buy in Malaysia, I'm based in HCM city normally I buy from the local sellers here, they allow me to test the phone before paying and have a limited warranty period for 1-to-1 exchange.

Xiaomi 14. Not 13 Pro. Now the hot products are 14 & 14 Pro already, other older model owners all quickly trying to sell their phones.

I saw there is already EU rom for it and can be unlocked, but if the original rom don't have delayed notifications maybe original is ok too. Glad to know 5G works! More pressure for Xiaomi Malaysia to lower their launch price!

Xiaomi 14 vs 13 Pro/ Ultra will be an interesting comparison since it's almost same price (RM2.8k thereabouts)

For the price ya. But the main sensor size is similar. Just that the 14 series has larger aperture and newer sensor. Will be interesting to see the differences haha.

Around 1k+ price difference, I think closest in terms of price will be the 13T vs 13 & 13T Pro vs 13 Pro since they have dropped in prices to be similar to 13T/Pro.

I'm quite happy with 12S Pro eventhough older model, currently selling below 13T/Pro. The LTPO screen quality is a step nicer quality, 8+ Gen 1 slightly faster than the 13T and performance just behind the 13T Pro in real life usage, triple 50MP Cameras also no complaints.

Any of your 13 or 13 pro gets a green line on screen?
Have you replaced it?
How much does it cost approximately?
