Is 2.4k a good price for Xiaomi 13 pro ? (Brand new) It is much more affordable now and compared to others like Oneplus 11 this has a much better camera hardware and premium build.

Shopee but I'm in HCM city. Wow I just checked KL prices is around RM1k more expensive! Maybe I should open a Shopee account in KL and sell the phones here 😅 Even Mi13 Ultra is just a little over 3k.

Seems Xiaomi is screwing its own customer

13 Pro still better than the T series. Why unable to sell unless you put a very high price?

I'm based in Ho Chi Minh City, 13 Pro still selling very well, coz the selling price is cheaper than 13T Pro. Around RM2.4k for base mode. 13 Ultra around RM3.2k.

I am just checking on Maxis Trade in and CompAsia on the 2nd hand price.
Maybe they have not added or they dont accept Xiaomi  biggrin.gif
2.4K is great value for 2nd hand.

Why you're not happy with the 13 Pro? I was thinking of getting this model coz I don't like the bulky camera look on the Ultra.

Don't buy... Wait for 14 pro or go for s23 ultra if rushing. The lowest I have seem for s23 ultra is 3.7k for previous 10.10 sales. It might be lower for next week 11.11 sales.

Considering you don't read Chinese, why go for import and china set. Even if seller flash global ROM for you, it's not worth the price and hassle. China ROM cannot even get local support and 5G somemore.

Depending which model of iphone you are having, the camera performance are sort of downgrading if go for xiaomi. S23 ultra is much better choice unless you die die wanna get xiaomi then better wait for xiaomi 14 pro.
*
I can get 5g on my china set, I bought the Xiaomi 12 S. I will say depends on the support, some China set sellers provide warranty and one to one exchange for a certain period.

Current prices :

Mi 12S - 1.4k
Mi 12S Pro - 1.6k
Mi 12S Ultra - 2.2k
Mi 13 - 2.2k
Mi 13 Pro - 2.4k
Mi 13 Ultra - 3k.
Mi 14 - 3K

I can see some used sellers already selling their 13 Pro slightly below RM2k now that 14/Pro are launched. Below RM2k for 13 Pro is hard to resist.

Some seller desperate to sell because of Mi 14: already started selling and In few months will drop from 3k to 2.5k. Now I know why Fastech Lim selling so well in Malaysia, coz he does offer some support as well and overall still a good bargain.

China set sure is cheap but come with a tradeoff of no support. Unless those changing on yearly basis otherwise better don't get china set.

Although when buying seller will offer 1 year warranty but it still have to go through a lengthy process of claiming warranty if something happen, it can go up to 3 weeks as it have to send to china.

After 1 year then confirm seller will charge a certain fee for sending the phone over to china or pursued customer to buy a new 1 instead. Just get local set for peace of mind and nowadays xiaomi local set are offering 2 years warranty.
*
Yes you pay for what you get, for me is not much difference in support, only if you have screen warranty then it make it worthwhile because that's the most expensive part to repair, some new phones in Malaysia also may not have 1 year screen warranty then you're not much better off when you drop your phone and pay the same thing for repair. The rest of the parts can be repaired in the same day if it's a popular phone like Xiaomi most shops will have spare parts. In reality phones not worth to keep for long time, after 1 year the phone already worth half the price, 2 years just worth paper weight. My previous phone was a Mi 12 Pro, which can also use Global rom, runs 5G etc. I just use for a few months and sold it at a profit ( because Malaysian prices are higher by 30-40%) upgraded to next generation one for free 😄

The tricky part with import set is not the cost of the part but when issue arise there are hardly got shop that can repair for it and the labour incurred.

Even if some third party phone repair shop can do it but it will take quite some time for them to order part etc etc. The good thing of official device is if anything arise can just drop by to official service centre and get the job done much quicker.

If you are happy with china set then just go ahead. It's just not my cup of tea and it will be getting more and more difficult to repair at local store as import device are getting much less popular. Ppl tend to go for local set for peace of mind and tax deduction in some cases. Hence it make less sense for ppl to keep spare part especially less popular android.

If you are saying on iphone or Samsung then it might be easy to get the part but definitely not for other brand.
*
Tax deductions also work for any phone bought in Malaysia whether China or local origin, as long as you buy it from local company with proof of receipt.

Actually Xiaomi is one of the very popular and easy to find parts. I once sent one out warranty Xiaomi phone it only took a day to get it fixed. Others like IQoo, Google Pixel, Motorola then I'd worry about getting it.

Due to the huge price gaps of China and local phones, there is a loophole that allows China phones to be sold at a profit even after using for few months, then keep upgrading new versions for free. This can only be done if you know where to buy it at the original price.

Nothing wrong buying local or China, but since I can take advantage of the much lower prices and I travel often (not based in Malaysia), I get to use the latest phones almost half the price of local ones. For example I see Xiaomi 13 Pro 2nd hand being sold for RM3.4k in KL, but I can get one for RM1.9k, use a few months, sell it for 2.5k then buy the Xiaomi 14 for free. And all these phones are under warranty too, in my case it's a no brainer.

It's nothing wrong to buy import or local. Everyone is allow to make their own decision for their money. Regarding the part wise, I believe it's depending on how popular is the device.

In Malaysia the third party repair shop is never on par with official service centre regarding to part availability. The part is definitely more easily available for apple and Samsung due to it popularity.

Since you travel a lot then it doesn't matter you buy local or not but for majority of consumer that spend majority of time in Malaysia buying official device is always a better choice for peace of mind.

Well to keep it simple, just spend according to everyone personal preference and there are no right or wrong in this matter.

Yes buy what is suitable for you. Xiaomi 14 launching price is now selling lower than Xiaomi 13 series (around 2.8k onwards), I see a lot of 13/13 Pro owners dumping their phones in the 2nd hand market just after few months below RM2k for both models. With phone release every 6 months or so even new models get old fast. My only issue is need to inform bank each time I transfer to new phone otherwise they may temporarily ban the account.

I believe that is China set.
Quite confusing when see some selling 2k, some selling 2.8k for 13Pro
*

For me no difference coz I'm based overseas so most important is it works well, comes with some warranty and has parts available easily. Also models like 13 Pro can flash to Global rom easily and no problems with 5G (not sure about Malaysia)

Xiaomi 14 drop price again some sellers selling RM2.4k already 😱 hard to keep touch with so fast changes. I think I'll be happy to go with Xiaomi 13 Pro with it's 1 inch sensor, now that it drop below RM2k.

Bro share link if you found seller that has Xiaomi 13 Pro for rm2K. Even China set at rm2K is damn good.
*
For Malaysia sellers you can check with sellers like Fastech Lim, he is now selling the Xiaomi 14 at RM2.8k only.

I don't buy in Malaysia, I'm based in HCM city normally I buy from the local sellers here, they allow me to test the phone before paying and have a limited warranty period for 1-to-1 exchange.

Xiaomi 14. Not 13 Pro. Now the hot products are 14 & 14 Pro already, other older model owners all quickly trying to sell their phones.

I saw there is already EU rom for it and can be unlocked, but if the original rom don't have delayed notifications maybe original is ok too. Glad to know 5G works! More pressure for Xiaomi Malaysia to lower their launch price!

Xiaomi 14 vs 13 Pro/ Ultra will be an interesting comparison since it's almost same price (RM2.8k thereabouts)

For the price ya. But the main sensor size is similar. Just that the 14 series has larger aperture and newer sensor. Will be interesting to see the differences haha.
*
Around 1k+ price difference, I think closest in terms of price will be the 13T vs 13 & 13T Pro vs 13 Pro since they have dropped in prices to be similar to 13T/Pro.

I'm quite happy with 12S Pro eventhough older model, currently selling below 13T/Pro. The LTPO screen quality is a step nicer quality, 8+ Gen 1 slightly faster than the 13T and performance just behind the 13T Pro in real life usage, triple 50MP Cameras also no complaints.
