QUOTE(Denise Lee @ Dec 10 2007, 02:23 AM) When will the Gundam Unicorn be available in Malaysia???Cant wait Yup, gatlings come only with the novel which we possibly might not get in in Msia. Added on December 10, 2007, 2:27 am Does this means the twin gatlings comes with the novel only? Oh nooo..... Oh well, maybe I could curi my 2nd L's gatling and mod it hehe... QUOTE(ngee_khiong @ Dec 10 2007, 03:56 AM) Woot, thanks ngeekhiong for sharing...From the link it seems that the mouthpiece of the Unicorn is around the same size as the hi-Nu's. For a kit as large as the Nu, I was expecting the Unicorn's head to be larger... Oh well, it's a ver Ka kit which normally has small heads, small torsos, short arms, and long legs. And guess what? More UGH from the Japs... http://kaijin.akiba.coocan.jp/0712084.jpg http://kaijin.akiba.coocan.jp/0712085a.jpg This post has been edited by StarGhazzer: Dec 10 2007, 11:04 AM |

Haha... welcome to the world of money-sucking plastics, sinoffire
Don't forget to panel line your Exia... it'll look much better that way. And try not to get NG 1/144s... not worth the cash at all, unless you need spare parts for custom modding. This post has been edited by StarGhazzer: Dec 14 2007, 09:57 AM |

T_T Everyone is heading off for Xmas shopping... sien... JB's gunplas are horribly overpriced... RM 160 for OYW RX78, RM240 for normal MG Destiny
Anyway... More Unicorn. And fingers crossed for this... hopefully this is just a scare, otherwise it'd be worse than ver1.0 MGs... Especially when the 1/100 Exia has an amazing range of poses, the Unicorn cannot afford to be a failure. ![]() ![]() The elbows are really crap compared to the recent MGs... but from the pics, maybe a snip beneath the elbow might free up the movements? Ugh... the horrible knee joints... surely it can't be that BAD? My 1/100 Deathscythe has better knees. Waiting for dalong's review before splurging. Oh well... at least the models are cute. ![]() This post has been edited by StarGhazzer: Dec 14 2007, 12:02 PM |

Crap knee joints for the Unicorn.... I was thinking, maybe we could snip this part so that the knees can bend more. Hehe... but wait for others who have pre-ordered to test it out first. if it's really crap then I might as well spend the 5000 yen on a Zeta which can transform too. ![]() But look at the details !! Even a single foot has so many little parts... |

QUOTE(chriswoo @ Dec 15 2007, 06:53 PM) lol u can't ask for a 5000yen new MG to be perfect ^,^ btw nothing perfect unless the cost is high then only it near perfect ^,^. I'd love to believe this news, but a full-fledged ver2.0 within ONE year is very unlikely... but anyway i hear rumor that maybe they will release unicon ver 2.0 at end of next year . Nevertheless, if the complaints are loud enough, Bandai might release an improved version with better joints in the future (not unlike the MKII ver2.0 Titans which has a better waist). Yup, improved joints but surely not a whole new ver2.0. A Sinanju might be possible though if the MG Unicorn sells well. Anyway... 4500 yen for some extra legs boosters and weapons... worth the price? ![]() ![]() Wallet breaker... ![]() This post has been edited by StarGhazzer: Dec 15 2007, 07:06 PM |

The more I look at the pics, the more I feel that it's impossible to increase the articulation of the knee joints by simple snipping. A big custom mod seems inevitable... Now I'm really pondering to use my 5K yen on a Zeta instead. |

QUOTE(zoidx_chung @ Dec 17 2007, 01:13 AM) haha, i already had a zeta, I've posted the pics of the Unicorn limbs before.... just check out one or two previous pages.very fun to play with... they say unicorn arms can move until 135 degree while legs less than 90 degree The arms are acceptable since our own human elbows don't bend till 180 degrees too... but knees with less than 90 degree articulation? I'm spoilt by the Zaku ver2.0's posability that none of the newer MGs have impressive joints hehe... maybe the Turn A does but the palms are kinda crappy. |

QUOTE(zoidx_chung @ Dec 17 2007, 01:33 AM) Both? Hehe...Hard choice to make... Luckily we won't be seeing the Unicorn that fast just yet. Waiting for people to try it out first and also more reviews to see whether can mod the knees or not. Seems hard though, as the leg booster covers seem to block the knee joint. |

Wah... 1/60 Exia articulation is worse than 1/100?
http://www.zlpla.co.kr/zeroboard/view.php?...esc=asc&no=1655 The knees are obstructed by the white pieces of armour... I give up. This post has been edited by StarGhazzer: Dec 17 2007, 10:33 AM |

QUOTE(WaytoDawn @ Dec 17 2007, 04:44 PM) ok...this knee problem is more serious than a few cuts here and there...hmm....I have two ideas. Your second idea is exactly what I had in mind... The first one is a bit too pro for me liao hehe...First idea: the more complicated one... » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Now, based of this pic, you can c the green area is supposed to link to the red area to form the lower leg, and the yellow area is supposed to link to the blue area to form the upper leg. This hinders movement and articulation by a long shot as the *tubes* behind the joint is in the way. Now, my idea is to cut away the green part and red part, then create a joint circle simillar to the yellow part with plaplates which will replace the green part and then link this newly made joint to the blue part along with the yellow part. Sorta like a sandwich of joints. Lets say the yellow part is represented as "l" and the newly made joint is represented as "Y".From the front view, The "l" will be insetrted above the "Y" to form something like a pitch fork shape. Do you guys understand my point? Or am i being a little bit too complicated here... *Btw, i am not too sure whether the plaplates are strong enough to withstand joint movement* Second idea:the simpler one... The tubes behind the joint will need to be removed and replaced with wire mesh kind of tube. the flexible one, like the one on the zaku. This tube will be linked somewhere near to the green part. Some modification needs to be done above the blue part to allow the tube to "slide" into the hollow area there whenever the joint is turned. This *might* provide a better artuculation for this kit... In the end, I feel that combining both will yield the best results. Anyways, this is just some rough ideas based on what i have seen so far. Btw, any of you sifu's know where i can get that kind of wire-mesh tubes? Then again, it's this part that's obstructing the knee ![]() The armour too ![]() Looking at dalong's pics... Man, the cockpit is seriously cramped... how to get in from the tiny entrance? Too bad the whole articulation is as bad as a first generation MG QUOTE(chriswoo @ Dec 17 2007, 06:36 PM) 220... overpriced ler... wait a bit first hehe...This post has been edited by StarGhazzer: Dec 17 2007, 07:12 PM |

Yup... and he gave 99 points... For the articulation it probably should deserve 80 and no more
Then again, it's a revelation for Bandai to be able to materialise the concept of a transforming frame. For the transforming gimmicks, number of parts, amount of weapons, and of course the sheer size; 5000 yen suddenly seems a real bargin. From the pics themselves, the 90 degree knees don't appear that bad after all. Yet considering that most recent MGs have superior joints (except Gelgoog ver2.0), the Unicorn's fallings are indeed too obvious to be ignored. |
