I dunno why u guys banging on 00 so much. As a standalone AU story its pretty good and has parallels to our world's political situation now. I like the last episode showing Azadistan's political instability due to  interpretation of "religion". Very like a certain country now. Hehe.

I think the idea is don't think of the Gundams as super, but the show is trying to say you can have the best technology and biggest army, but mankind's destiny is always controlled by him alone. You can have the most powerful gundam but if ppl are not willing to change, nothing will change.

From what I see, Azadistan is close to current Iran, with the government consist of conservative and reformist, and religious body has huge influence to the government(with the religious body lead by a person;similar to Mullah in Iran, if I'm not mistaken).
