When tyre shop argue with me then I just walk away and find another shop. I generally kept the rear where they are if there's still >50% thread.

those that install new tyres at front and old tyres at rear without knowing what's the outcome, is usually those who complain the tyres no grip or the blame car is unstable laugh.gif

it is fine if the rear tyres thread thickness is close to the front, then install new tyres at front can accelerate the front tyre wear to match with the rear tyres thread, but to say install new tyres at front because you are driving front wheel drive car is plain wrong, it doesn't matter which kind of drivetrain, tyres with more grip is recommended be always at rear, unless you are driving the car for gymkhana or autocross then you will see many of them go for reverse staggered setup for front wheel drive car

as for which tyres workshop, i usually go to T-align in bandar sunway, clean place, new alignment machine, and allow me to custom my alignment settings until the screen showing red color measurement also no problem, if they ever ask why i will tell them i use my car for track and gymkhana tongue.gif

If one business cannot accede to one's request, just take one business else where.

the logic is very simple. It's better to understeer than to oversteer. It's better to hit to front of your car than the side or the rear.

Actually the rule should be to put the BETTER tire in the rear if you are using different models for each axle. If using same tire model on all four corners, then yes the new ones in the rear.

Better to have newer tyre/the ones with more grip on the rear unless you like fishtailing. Those idiots at that tyre shop can laugh all they want.

Better to greatly reduce the chance of oversteer than improve braking by only a couple cm.
