Hi hi, im new here tongue.gif so this is kind of an introduction XD

anyways, can anyone list me places where they sell rubiks in Kuala Lumpur(especially DIYs and Stack mat/timer ><). I'll be going to KL next week so, im trying to find a better cube for me while im there.

@Mr.Ace since macky site is not up i think this is how you progress your Cube skills

1. Aim for 40s with 2 turns per second(tps) with beginners technique
2. Aim for 30s with 2 tps with 2 look PLL and OLL ( meaning only uses 4 algorithm to solve last layer)
3. Aim for 25s (intuitive / full F2L) and full PLL
4. Sub -20 ( full OLL)

Go slow but look ahead. You dont have to go really fast to reach sub-30 ( i can assure you o.o)

Yup you can get to around 40s with beginners technique. Heck even my 12 year old cousin can do that >< (made me jealous though).

Well the thing is that you have to LOOK AHEAD and minimize your moves.

When i was starting back in september, i used 2 beginners method. One i found from Youtube and the other one is from dans cube station.

i mixed them both and resulted in around 50s-1min solve until i read shotaro macky's site ( no more host ><) and practised looking ahead with slow solves. This resulted in around 40s solves ~

Later on i memorised 3-4 looks LL and yet still stuck in around 40s for few weeks.

In anycase, after getting sub-40, practise your f2l and aim for less than 7 moves per pair and of course, less than 20secs f2l tongue.gif

Intuitive F2L and mixed of OLL PLL (Beginners one). Never used any other algos. Lol.

My noob vid I took it for fun that day.

is the 2x2x2 cube nice to play? how's the difficulty compared to the normal 3x3x3? it sure looks easier....so does the 3x3x3 when it was in the shrink wrap... laugh.gif

To solve 2x2x2 beginners way: you have to know 3x3x3 first. I.E layer by layer: 1. First layer and then 2. Last layer by means of OLL and PLL

Here's a simple method:

http://erikku.er.funpic.org/rubik/2x2_lbl-0.html

To answer your first question: it is nice o.o

Last layer is mostly based on algorithm.
