So for online games, Streamyx gives better service depending on the ipaddress that we are on. Is that apparent for games played on xbox live as well? Do most of you guys connect the modem directly to the xbox or PC?

As long your ping to tmnet is ok (via command prompt) , and the NAT is open , you'll be no problem playing with Malaysian . Maybe Japanese and Singaporean as well .

it depends really. obviously you'll get better connection with closer players like in singapore, HK or japan. but so far, i've played with a number of american hosts and the connection was still good.
so far, UKs connection kinda lags a lot.
and i'm connecting my modem to a switch, with 2 other pcs connected as well. sometimes my pcs, and xbox will use the connection simultaneously, but still smooth online play.

QUOTE(XenoFr3ak @ Oct 10 2007, 06:02 PM) Whats DMZ ? can teach me how to use it pls Refer to your modem manual (you'll find the DMZ tab in your modems settings page), practically it opens up all ports. If you DMZ your pc ip you're more likely to say hello to hackers.

Maybe sooner or later Hackers starts to hack on each xbox360

I just make the main ip (which is known as 192.168.1.1) as open nat~ so all xbox 360 is running on open nat. UPNP also can be done, but you have you key in the ip from your xbox 360 la~ some modem doesn't allow multiply "Open NAT" and I have no idea why they want to do that.

I use an adsl gateway (modem+router) connected to my pc and to the xbox separately. Both pc and xbox have static ip and ports forwarded for whatever.
If you forward your ports properly, you'll have open NAT. I have no problems playing games with gamers from Japan, Indonesia, HK, Canada, Singapore, Malaysia or even US. Of course, to do this gotta stop all connections on the pc. Halo 3 seems to work great with gamers from anywhere. GoW though, is a little picky. Some games are lagged to hell with users from US,etc.

I'm hoping epic will do these in thier gears of war 2 thier rank match system is freaking lousy
