Cim... bout the car sickness is normal... I mean...
If wan to bring them out... 1st.. put them in small storage box or a box which cover all surround.. means the hedgie cannot see the outside.. like this they wont feel the sickness because they cant see world is walking :lol

I had tried this with my Ken.. last time bring him out to petshack and put him inside my hand carry bag and when I arrive..he still active and no vomit at all smile.gif but.. yeah.. actually I dun really like to bring my Ken along... I mean if its glider is easy.. can bring bonding pouch and no need to care them so much.. as hedgie.. hard lar.. because they wont feel comfortable with the small carrier we put them in.... hehe
*
Actually not all hedgies get car sickness, and some have it worse than others (but it is very common). Angel is not too bad, she will start to puke near the end of the trip
but Demon will start puking the minute we drive out of the condo parking area, and only stop a few minutes after the journey ends.
Even when his stomach is empty he will continue to make foam and puke it out. Its really pitiful to see.
By time i get home his tummy is soaked in his own puke sad.gif
In Kens case he might not be affected by motion sickness, consider yourself lucky that you can bring him around comfortably nod.gif

Keeping them in a dark area does not guarantee they will not get sick, it helps but not for all.
Every single time i journey with them i keep them in a dark container with a blankie for them so they don't get tossed around. Even then they still puke. Tried carrying him close to my body also still puke.
Even then i don't see any need to cause them to puke and feel ill just to show them off, Ill only make them go through it if its necessary like for a vet visit.

stressed when the place is quiet? funny, cuz mine only comes out to play when it's quiet. if there's any noise or people walking around, he'll be back into the hidebox.

anyway, i've finally figured out the reason why my hedgehog 'throws' the kibbles all over the place. apparently everynight he'll try to climb up to the top of the hidebox, but because he's not tall enough he steps onto the food bowl and tries frantically, thus kicking the kibbles all over the place. my mistake for putting the food bowl too close to the hidebox.wink.gif

i watched him do that last night. still failed to climb up, and in the process tumbled down and rolled over, it was so darn funny. tongue.gif my girlfriend laughed like mad when she saw that happen. also, i removed his wheel last night, so when he came out for his routine run-about, he looked so dumbfounded when he saw that the wheel's missing. kept looking left and right as if he's searching for the wheel. in the end i put the wheel back in and he immediately climbed up and sprinted for some time before getting some sleep again.

err.... well since u said you just brought him back.. if u really bring him to ur office it MIGHT stressed him out... hoglet.. tend to sleep whole day because they still small plus they havent get used to new environment... basically I dun agree if u bring him to ur office... worst case.. u really made him stressed out lor....

for bonding... no need to bring him every where like glider laugh.gif
basically.. u just have to spend more time with him.. but of course after he settle down and get used to his new home and ur smell smile.gif

^ well.. it's good to know that u ask before u did laugh.gif

one thing to keep an eye is... when u bring him back home... please keep an eye on him and let him sleep in quiet place for at least 1-2 days to let him settle down himself... on 2nd nite... u can try to let him smell ur hand if u think he's awake... and dun forget to put ur worn shirt inside the cage to let him get used to ur smell smile.gif

good luck!

yup, it's better to leave them at house..
try to find a place where your dog won't disturb the cute little hedgie..
or maybe bring your dog to work instead.. icon_rolleyes.gif

p/s- hope you write about me in your diary too wub.gif
