play wif him means.. u take him out from the cage.. let him run in ur room or else at least its a floor
as for me, I will take him out from the cage.. let him run freely for a while or just hold him on my hand... with this we can bond more easily as they will think us as a friend and wont simply bite us....... i guess xD

my suggestion is.... better ask ur cousin to read n research more before deciding to owned one...
when he/she ready and have knowledge bout the hedgie then its the time to find a cutie fella as a pet... if not.. will pity the hedgie la..
as for example... ur mom bought hedgie for ur bro but ur bro too scared to touch him... and his lucky to have u as his new owner as u're willing to take care of him and come to seek advice.... we really appreciate that.. no offence of cous! hehe

anyway.. what I mean is... we just dun want to let this cutie fella to feel unwanted....

as for hedgie... they won't bite unless if u hand feeding them with ur hand.. then they will mistake ur hand as a food.. later on they will think ur hand is a food and will try to bite it
their duri is indeed hurt if u hold them when they pissed... but this is one of the things that u have to endure if wan to rare hedgie... if scare.. better dun rare them.. cuz hedgies had diff personalities and some of them might really tame or some might grumpy... as for mine... he's a moody hedgie

nope~~~ some use wood shaving as bedding and some use breeder celect?
we used shirt when the 1st time we bring back our hedgie.. just to let them know our smell...
but u can continue to use shirt as bedding too if u want... i tried before...
but as usual... ken like to hide under the shirt.. and when i wan to let him out he will hiss if i took out the shirt.. so I continue to use wood shaving
