Big established company like Boeing can still screw up big time.

Indeed. These big companies can screw up as well. But I'd still rather trust these bigger companies than COMAC that just only made their first passenger jet. Wait a few years before boarding on it.

Have to wait a long time anyway because they have a lot of local orders to fulfil.

Next gen C919 is probably 20 years away. By that time Airbus would have come out with the successor of A320neo already.

This is what RIM Blackberry CEO once said when Apple join smartphone market.
they are Far behind, in a very very long time, they will playing catch up.

Usually people only believe what they see now and pass.
very very few people have the vision that able to see future.

that is why most visionary (before their vision come true), most people took them as "noob", "silly"

Spare parts are easy to make. Trained pilots and technicians are bigger issues.

Airliner development takes a long time. You can't compare it to making mobile phones.

Apple beat RIM because of technology breakthrough. In civil aviation, if China wants breakthrough, it will have to develop electric or hybrid airplanes, or new supersonic airplanes.

China have the local market to sustain the RnD cost for improvement and the next generation plane....

Base on current scenario, Airbus will be the 1st choice for China international flight...Boeing will be forgotten if China and US relationship not improving....

Not sure if Boeing without China market still have enough funds to sustain their RnD to compete with Aisbus in international markets......

Now and Past.

Russia already experienced it. they now have to dismantle airplane to maintain current plane.
because embargo.
China forced to acceralate the flight development.

CPU, GPU, Space Rocket, Satelite, Cargo Plane, Air Fighter... u named it.

"When there is 1 rising, there will be multiple falling"
this apply on east and west.

the only Key component in Technology breakthrough = Resource.
China is now the biggest avaition market, passanger + cargo, local + international.

This is the key behind their technology growth rate

You must be very unaware of how plane safety industry works. Stability and safety track record is more important than innovation.

track record proven by usage. not Time.

always can start from cargo

China Local Authority = We dont always follow internation standard.

once the track record in china proven.

much lower cost = expand to 3rd world.

from Business POV

is very easy to go from Small to Big
but is damm hurt when you cant keep your shape and become lesser.

Look at history.
Playing catch up always win.
No 1 can perma retain top spot

So, you reach top spot, you are counting down.

Of course everything you say here is true
What you said before in terms of innovation, that is the one that isn't correct in the aviation world
