fit and finish is nice, as expected from an rm2k jacket.
quite heavy, but doesn't feel it as much with the kidney belt strapped.

friends say i look like SWAT with this jacket.

Found the Held Cattleman boots to be had for RM275 with coupons on Shoppee.

Thick double-stitched cowhide upper, just begging to be mink-oiled. Zipped side (something I look for in all my lace-up Derby dress boots & bike boots). The usual toe, heel and ankle protection although not as heavily protected as racing & off-road boots, but that's fine as they retain the comfort & mobility I absolutely need to wear them all day at the office and when touring.

At this price, I couldn't say no.

However the welt is not sewn - this is the weakest area in all leather shoes coz while the animal leather is bomb-proof, the soles and their glue tend to somehow perish all on their own in our weather. Glued soles tend to detach after 2 years, dunno why. My fave Blundstones just went out this way and the soles also started to crumble apart... can't be saved, what a fucking pity...

Wow
Sounds interesting? You bought one?

Yeah... RM275 so I bought a pair to replace my Blundstones that self-destructed after 2+ years. They list for RM299 currently but even that's still bloody cheap for a sturdy pair of genuine leather boots. So if anybody's in the market for a more traditional Derby style of motorcycle boots, maybe it's something worth taking a look at.

OK la, if got unevenness should mean the leather is real leather. If too perfect then not really real leather kot 🤣

sent it back and exchanged for a new pair with no spots.
this one looks much better with no blemish. rclxms.gif

i've tried redwings leather cream on these boot. too light.
then put on shoe cream (neutral color) on it. a bit darker.
i still have tinted shoe cream light brown that i'm gonna try next.
and last that i'll try on these is mink oil since that will darken the leather pretty substantially.

Saw the ad says it is CE rated. Do you see the ce label in the shoe and what are the 4 numbers below the ce label?

It is also water resistant and rates a '2' in almost all the CE rating except abrasion resistance which is good enough for me as I'm going to be using this for my daily commute mostly and occasional rides. Only thing is I need to get used to using a high cut shoe, the sole is pretty thick and the shoe itself is quite stiff since its still new, so shifting gear really needs some effort for now. Price is supposed to be around 1k, he had not finalised the price yet but he gave me a very good price being the first customer for these shoes.

1 2 2 2
ankle high
superior abrasion resistance
superior impact cut
superior transverse rigidity

not bad for a 200+ shoes eh brows.gif

Bloody hell that's damn good weyh. And the first '1' actually means it's technically still a low cut boot. If its a high cut boot then perfect score liao.

perfect score 2 2 2 2
more comfortable than the helds.
higher quality leather, better construction and easier to get in and out.
but costs 5x more. price/performance ratio no competition.

today i took the helds through light rain. doesn't leak.

Cheap & decent. For the price, they're better than my Stylmartin Jack boots (CE: 1122) which cost me RM765.
*
yeah cheap and decent.
i came across these held cattleman last year in fc-moto when they were being cleared for RM300-ish shipped to malaysia

lucky didn't buy that time hehe
thanks for heads up! wub.gif

thin but have padding at high impact areas. at least some protection is better than no protection

Geng..aiming to go serdang motorcycle this coming sabtuday to look at some stuff..

Them benkia rain suits ada gooding? I think they have starfield knight rain suits jugak kan?

Anyone have experience with these rain suits? They last well? Coz they ain that cheap either

Also besides benkia in serdang motor....any other places to find decent, cheap womens riding jackets?
*
food rider FB group frequently suggest maxfly maxxis and foxdry. serdang motor carries foxdry and starfield knight so you can try there.
i bought foxdry can't remember what model at serdang motor. a recommended model by food rider. but very thick, too hot and sweaty, end up using back my decathlon rain jacket.

womens riding jacket can also take a look at hodaka. their komine women jacket is quite cheap. rm300-400 IINM, better quality than benkia.

I bought the benkia one for my partner, not sure why the shop didn't recommend us the komine for women.
*
maybe the shop didn't carry them.
most shops only carry one or two or three brands only in their inventory.

even then a lot of shops don't have all color for any particular model. hodaka have lots of komine model and color since they are the main distro for malaysia.

Buggered my bike going downhill from Genting once before learning my lesson:

You can only go 70%-80% max on public roads because these are not controlled environments. Something is just bound to surprise you when you least expect it. Konar cun-cun ala Valentino Rossi, textbook knee-down... sekali tiba2 monyet melintas pulak... dusyummmm.... eNtah siAPa yANg saLaHhh ku tAK taHUuuuu....

Anything above 70%-80% should be done on the racetrack.

I went Serdang motor too for the jacket purchase. The Chinese auntie didn't recommend komine, just show benkia.

I'll go again to see the komines.

serdang don't carry komine.

the only place that i've seen that has both komine and benkia is el chong sungai jawi up in penang biggrin.gif

Her 700 CLX died again Thursday night while riding home with me after dinner in Ara Damansara. 3rd lane in fast-moving traffic on the NKVE at 9pm, ignition cut out and lost power all of a sudden while cruising at highway speeds. Power was on but it refused to start. It was a harrowing experience coz she didn't not have the power to safely cut across 3 lanes of traffic into the emergency lane and the bike came to a stop in the middle of the friggin highway. Fortunately, the large truck behind her managed to stop in time and block the traffic for us to push the bike to the side of the highway. Called a tow truck and dumped the motherfucker at Mforce immediately afterward.

She was supposed to ride it to Satun with me next week. Looks like she'll have to make the trip on the back of my bike as a passenger.

Enough is enough, that bike is DONE. We'll cut our losses and flog it off immediately when it comes out of Mforce. Damn near killed both of us that nite.

wow very scary experience.
glad to hear both of you are safe.

Yep. It's quite lightweight and ventilated....good for daily use....although the included armour is pretty crap. It's good as long and you have better armour at hand.

My only complaint is that it doesn't have belt loops and zipper to zip up to pants.

you buy better armour then tell which is the best. i follow

felt handsome ecewah.

at RM1.3k don't know if its a good idea in super hot northern MY weather.
but wearing for half an hour in the lightly air-conditioned shop felt like it's not gonna heat up as much.

anyone using the same taichi drymaster jacket?
