Guys, what to look out for when buying riding pants?

Tight fit?

For jacket, the first one I got was too loose. It's flapping at speed and it hurts. sad.gif
*
the jacket, was it fake branded?

for me riding pants should be just slightly loose, because the protection must stay in place
then, it should have kevlar lining inside...

My current pair of gloves although quite breathable, hurts my ring fingers after a while because it's quite rigid.
*
look for pre-curved gloves
my personal opinion, test in shop, and get the pair that fits best

my experience, same brand model size... pair A I took left, pair B I took right...

The button on my helmet broke, wondering if its still safe to use. i think the button is just to hold the belt in place without it flapping around.
after strapping it down with the rings without using the button. the belt feels tight when i gave it a hard tug and it didnt budge
*
it's the DD ring button? I think it's fine

Hi all,
On the lookout for some decent adventure touring pants with hip and knee protector. Need to cover the boots as well. Need not to be waterproof but a bonus if it is.

Been checking out Revit, KLIM, Alpinestar etc. but without much success as there are very little reviews especially for hot humid APAC countries.

Anyone has any suggestions?

Thanks,
*
perforated leather is best

Leather will be hot. But with the correct type of leather will provide very good slide protection.

Most of us will go with fabric and mesh. But mesh and fabric has the slide resistance of tissue paper, so it comes down to armour to provide the additional slide protection.

If possible get compatible pants with your jacket so you can zip them together to prevent your jacket from riding up your back in a slide.

Good protection wear will have additional reinforcements at sliding areas, stronger material and double or triple stitching so seams to break in the slide. Touring pants will be wider at the legs to enable you to wear them over your boots.

you got try leather?

perforated leather?

just clarifying, I feel perf leather is cooler than fabric or those technical material

QUOTE(harryleesbr @ Nov 13 2024, 07:43 PM)
Thanks. Any recommendations?
*
two piece leather suits with perforation, RS Taichi, Alpinestars, Dainese, RST, Rev'it should have
SPRS also take custom leather suits
some ppl make custom leather suits from local shops (my personal least preferrred)

one piece leather are more 'race' so you walk hunchback which can be uncomfortable

QUOTE(harryleesbr @ Nov 13 2024, 07:46 PM)
Thanks. My jacket brand does not carry any attachment to any pants. I have a look at Komine and Taichi.

Any models in specific?
*
there are different levels of joining
- full waist join - the zipper joins top and bottom around the waist: 2 piece leather suits or adventure suits
- back waist join - about 10 inches worth, usually comes with jacket and you can sew the other half of the zipper to riding pants
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

- belt loop from the jacket to the pants belt loop - this one is basic street jacket, just a rope at the lower back of the jacket to connect to pants belt loop

every brand names have their own zippers, but different brands compatibility is very low, for example Alpinestars won't match Dainese

Good thing is, you can have a different jacket to match a smaller pants, try them at your nearest store

Shoei PFS has head measurement, and suggests model for the head, with expected custom fitting if required

HJC has PFS nowadays, wait for events
Arai has peelable cheekpads... lol

modular helmets I think more spacious at the chin area, for some lah, maybe that's why it doesn't feel as secure as normal full face, also the different weight distribution

minizian what is 'glasses temple'?

I wouldnt recommend them now...what a letdown, once in a 40 minute medium-light, and today in a 40 minutes light rain...CE WP rated shoes masuk air, walaupun baru oil it up.

The thoughts of going into office with dry kaki is now another dream...not to mention how quick the leather turns rustic..like vintage worn out despite being a months old...shouyld have just pakai Crocs saja...

If said leather failed, the membrane should be working, but its not. It was the same before any product was applied. So being disappointed, i tried applying specific leather products to increase leather water resistance...sama saja

Membrane failed...in house membrane High-Tex

Pakai saja la...just imagine that its a water resistant riding boots...

Seller tarak bunyi, he said its 8000mmH20 resistance, but 8000mmH20 medium rain shouldnt be an issue. How to claim warranty also no idea. The following is the pic today.

Another think i want to ask...bila makin tua, makin sayang nyawa, but dont want to let go of speed haha

So baru tambah pakai riding shoes (before its helmet+jacket+gloves)

Then someone sini show degloving, then tengok motor accident mmng selalu la kena, then scrap skid semua and all...

How badly do i need riding pants? But i dont want to buka everytimei masuk office. And also pakai armor on the leg also..aiyoooo

For context, 60km minimum per day on motosikal in somewhat mix federal highway kinda jam.

most ppl never needed it, so I don't wear
after I crashed, I wished I had them on

2 points to note:
- dress for the slide, and
- hope we never need the protection

Sharing, Dainese Delta 4 leather pants with hip padding
accident, rolled and slid on tarmac
the pants leather in tact
green spot there pecah, and just caused a minor scuff on my thigh

that protection alone, I feel, is worth paying for the pants
