I kid you not, I have checked in 45mins before departure time for an 8 hour international flights before. No problemo. But as mentioned by others, Air Asia seems to be doing this I think. I'm at KLIA right now and I see people checking in for 9:20am international flights.
I did this for MAS but not for AAThis was a good 15 years ago and my bag was last on plane , first out on luggage in Melbourne and I skip all the queue
