sorry for late update. Everything went fine.I managed to successfully upgrade unlocked 1.0.2 to unlocked 1.1.1. So far everything is ok but I haven't activated youtube yet.

I have been following this topic for quite some time so i dont think my question has been addressed before; in any case, I apologise if it has been cos this topic is so darn long already (not like i'm complaining)

I am another disgruntled maxis user who has recently subscribed to Digi and will plan to migrate all my contacts and CLOSE down my maxis line if they dont do anything about it soon.

Here are my 2 rather juvenile questions:
1. I keep all my contacts' phone nos. like the following +6012XXXXXXX. The reason I do this is cos when i'm overseas, it will allow me to call the respective phone nos. However, I realised that when i do this, the caller id doesnt show up cos the incoming call is registered as (012) XXX XXXX. Does anyone have a solution to this? Funny thing enuf is that the sms function does not have the same issue.
2. This is related to above and refers to land lines also. Cos most of our land lines are 8 digits and putting 603 XXXX XXXX will have pblms with caller ids as well

antnine, there are people here who use their Maxis numbers in their business and it's not so easy to give up a number and possible future business simply because of an iPhone. It's money dude, I'm willing to give up the iPhone or carry an extra phone. But I'm not willing to give up future income

The question now is whether Maxis will fix the problem first or we'll get Mobile Number Portability implemented first

I complain about Maxis because even after more than half a decade and thousands of RM poured into them from myself alone, not to mention the others here, they won't even fix the problem (at this point). That to me is bad customer service.

The best way for me to show my displeasure is to leave Maxis and let some other telco get my hard earned money, but that means I myself might lose business. So since MNP is not here yet, the next best way for me to show how unhappy I am with their lack of service. I pay money and expect to get service and support.

My advice to you is to not let the companies screw you. You need to show your dissatisfaction, and today that could be as simple as sending a well written, strongly worded email to the right people.

can, actually. but a very stupid and troublesome way.

use itune sycnc the song u want. then use sengsong (which u can download from installer), then open sendsong, select the song u wnat to be, and send it to ringtone. thats it.

then from setting - ringtone there, u can select the ringtone u just sync already.

but hor, as long as once  do syncronization, the setting will be reset (set to default). so, u need to do it again.

Longest owner I known are not in this forum, that dude paid USD599 for the 8GB. Activated with AT&T over iTunes in US and terminated the plan before sending to KL.
And then he bought TurboSIM to use with local SIM. Long before we know what is Jailbreaking. And yet, his iPhone is still kicking, anything you want me to ask?
