This phone or nothing phone.

Specs better than nothing.

It's just the MIUI that bothers me.
*
I have both phones (but already sold my Nothing Phone 1 after 1 month of using it). I do not see any issue with MIUI, in fact it really suits me well (in term of speed and efficiency). Those bad things about MIUI like pre-installed app can be easily removed with just 2 clicks. Just need 1st time tweak to get rid off those built in 'recommendation' aka ads. I do not want to argue MIUI vs other skins/firmware, as it is up to each individuals preference. I tried below phone to replace my Mi10T:
1. S20 FE
2. Moto Edge 30 Pro
3. Moto Edge 30
4. Nothing P1

I think I will use this 12T longer, as I believe I already comfortable with MIUI and its ecosystem. In fact, i will keep my 10T for spare phone, not going to sell it.

Again, it is your choice. Just use whatever phone that you think you're comfortable with.

You can purchase Nova to replace MIUI, those setting normally only done once then seldom go change.

I more concern on SW support and security update, which MI promise 3+5, so its + for me. I dont know how long does Nothing can sustain

Off topic, between S20FE and Edge 30, which is better? I wanted edge 30 but since no 256gb, I decided not to buy. Now using p30 pro and got S20FE also as second phone. No Xiaomi cause don't like ads and 11 series so many problems they say with the software. Even p30 pro got ads at the app gallery. Thks

1. Nova cannot replace MIUI. Nova is a launcher. MIUI is the OS.

2. Just curious, have you used MIUI before?

3. If they release updates every 4 or 5 months for 5 years with 3 android updates, it is still considered they have fulfilled the promise. Now let's say we got an update today, then there's an annoying bug but it takes them 3 months to fix with another update. If it's not fixed then wait another 3 months which sums up about 6 months to fix a bug.

Using 1+ with Oxygen OS
Yes, Nova is launcher. For me daily will deal is those launcher UI, those setting UI consider seldom use, normally set and forget.
Again, this just my personal preference, no matter how good a launcher, the OS UI would not change also.

Next, we dont know how frequently a phone update to be, if wanna best longevity of SW support, IOS is the one to go.
In engineering, we also wont easily release a new FW until really test out or causing customer immediately failure to use the product, so 3 month is consider fast consider so many product pipeline they had....

I try to skip those non big brand due to some uncertainly like VoLTE/WifiCall support etc.
Every brand got Pro/Cons, choose something suit your budget, which I think 12T Pro suit my budget and needs now.
Just my 2 cent.

Yeah there should be no difference in "initial" camera shots, as the phone screen cannot display the difference. Difference is only more obvious if you crop in with zoom view, that also requires a good light. If light is not enough, zoom in get blur view.

The disadvantages of 12t pro are two, is front camera can only do 1080p and back ultra wide angle camera has only 8mp.

hi guys, how's the 12t treating you? kinda interested to replace my 3year+ oneplus 7 pro with it, specifically the non pro variant.

more importantly, how does the dimensity 8100 stack up for games? especially 3d games like genshin or punishing gray raven. I play alot of gacha games too.

I notice The 2mp like rubbish useless.. I rather zoom use 200mp lol..

Btw anyone bought screen protector or tempered glass? Since got 6month I currently use the original screen protector..
Considering should I get some tempered glass? Aliexpress selling in set which front and rear camera one..
Some selling gel type, so far no use gel before.. Tempered glass normally last me few month..
Not sure those lens for back will cause blur quality or not, I guess it won't get scratches for original lens since its glass

I'm using 12T non pro now. Everything is up to my expectations especially the battery life. I don't game, so can't comment on that

Been using MIUI since Redmi Note 5, i think MIUI is mature and optimized enough especially on MIUI 12.5 onwards.

Since Mi9T and Mi10T, i never applied tempered glass or screen protector. Only use case to prevent dent and scratch. Anything from Gorilla Glass 5 should survive daily scratches, at least with my usage

Dropped many times especially when the kids were holding the phones. I'm using xundd case and it provide very good protection.

No, i taken out the pre-applied PET let the screen naked. Yes, the keys are pretty good in doing scratch, and there were few hairlines scratches on the screen but i barely noticed it.

Btw, i saw smartdevil already released their TG for 12T series.
