Looking to replace my aging iPhone X since it will be EOL soon

Got a Japan trip in mid-Oct

Wondering if I can get it cheaper (tax-free) there, or just buy locally (will be nice if can get before the trip)

Do take note that iPhones from Japan cannot mute the camera shutter sound. Every time you take a photo with your camera, there will be a loud camera shutter sound.

Physical sim is definitely more convenient. You dont need to go to the telco to get your bar codes everytime you switch your phone.

But Esim better for travel? Usually counters selling sim cards overseas for tourists would only have physical sim cards ready. Then again, I only use roaming nowadays to avoid the hassle of hunting for a sim card when Im overseas. Once landed just turn on phone and start using.
*
nowadays, u can buy travel SIM online directly even weeks before your travel. they will provide you with eSIM/QR code

As of last year: "Order iPhone 14 or iPhone 14 Pro with Maybank 0% EzyPay Plan or full payment using a Maybank Card at Machines.."
So, it doesn't require installment plan.

Let's see what I will choose eventually after more details are released. biggrin.gif
*
Yea last year can do full payment.

But this year saw Switch put installment only.

Anyway, i think can do just 6-month installment with Maybank CC if you really bothered by it biggrin.gif

I WhatsApped their CS today, for Switch installment plan to get the RM 200 vouchers must do it at the outlet.
Pay RM 300 deposit during online preorder and the remaining via installment plan at their outlets when collecting phone.
*
lol? if do installment via online means failed ahh

Just hope these premium resellers didn't sold more units than their allocation for 1st wave bah.

For Switch, so far they already closed 1st wave pre-order, and their online shop only can pre-order for 2nd batch onwards (6 Oct onwards).

Logically, no issue for these shops to fulfill customers that want collect on 29th if they didn't oversold units

hi all, first time buying iphone after 13 years...

I have read back the posts in this thread and they are so many shops to order iphone 15..

may i know ordering from which shop (i.e., apple official store, machines, switch, shoppee) is the best ?
*
No big difference actually if u order from Apple store, telco, or official premium resellers (Switch, Machines, ITworld)

Price is fixed, only minor difference is each shops has their own promo. Most u get is RM250 voucher or a combination of RM100 voucher + 1 extra year protection plan

Maybank T&C for the vouchers.

Seems like Machines got cap (400 online, 400 retail) while other resellers macam no cap

EDIT
Now I'm kinda worried about the wording about the utilisation for the RM200 voucher. Does it mean that I need to spend RM2,500 in my next receipt in order to use the RM200 voucher to offset? unsure.gif

I didn't read anywhere specifying that Machines has cap?
OK, I just saw. Oh no. I better go early to pick up, only if they allow me to pick up on 29th.

Machine also got another separate promo page
