Quick start will be the easiest because it works like Airdrop and iCloud is not far behind in terms of convenient. But if your data is very large (>100GB) iTunes (PC/ Mac + cable) is the fastest way.

I have no problem using iTunes on my windows PC to backup.
*
iTunes has been replace with Apple Devices and a few more apps for Windows. For those who will be getting their new iPhone, can download the Apple app from Microsoft store to manage your devices.

Yes full 5G Auto, always on display.

I always try to keep my phone cool, not overheating it.. I guess that helps on the battery health

Screen time on avg. 7h. Mostly socmed, apple fitness+, messaging + calling and occasionally YT, never gaming on it.

Do you charge to full 100%or do you turn on the 80% limit?

Lol that’s quote from oct 2023 post, but yes still applicable to date..

IMO It’s causing a lot of anxiety to many people, including myself…when I use my samsung I have no fear of battery health issue, and sort of enjoy using it more, charging it however I want without fear or worries. The cycle count is something unwanted, on top of the already unwanted battery health %…oh wells..
*
I think with larger battery like in the Pro Max and Plus, we shouldn't fear much. Even say after 2 years if the battery drop to 90%, that 90% of 43xx capacity can still last longer than if we are using the standard/pro series with only 32xx battery capacity.

Any limitation of USB C to USB A cable if use on iPhone 15 series? Are all the USB C to USB A cable able to use for transfer data/sync with iTune?

if you get a USB 3.1 rated A-to-C cable, you should still be able to get the 20x faster data transfer rate (10Gbps) on 15 Pro/Max models. but if it doesn't say specifically USB 3.1 (or above) or you're not using Pro/Max models, you'll be stuck on USB 2.0 data transfer rate (0.5Gbps) which is same speed as Lightning

also need to keep in mind that any A-to-C cable will have limitation in terms of charging speed (only 5W). iPhones only do fast charge (up to 30W) using C-to-C cable

if you want best of both worlds, get a USB3.2 rated C-to-C cable like this one from Orico
*
Thank you for the detail explanation. Then I think the biggest cons is the charging speed if it cannot go beyond 5W. It would still be fine if it reaches 15-20w though.

The limitation of C-to-A is data transfer speed. Normally USB C-to-A are USB 2.0 (480Mbps) or 3.0 (5Gbps) so all usb cable should be capable of transfer data/sync.

You can find C-to-C USB 3.1 (10Gbps) or higher like USB 4, thunderbolt3/4... the usb port you are plugging in also a factor too.

Reason I'm looking for C to A is that my laptop don't have Type C port, and also to use back my old powerbank whenever necessary. I don't really mine the slow transfer speed, the USB 3 speed is more than enough.
But someone mentioned before that charging will be limited to 5w, I think that's the biggest cons.

iPhone only supports fast charging over the USB Power Delivery specification (which requires a USB-C port at the charger end). Source from Apple: https://support.apple.com/en-my/102574
*
Is there a limit from the iPhone itself in terms of power it can deliver if use on non-usb c charger? For example, if charge with powerbank/car charger/ android 18w usb a charger.

If you have a usb A-to-C cable, it is probably 15W, meaning it will charge at whatever speed your power input is up to 15W but it can't deliver more power than that.
*
QUOTE(KaiHD @ Apr 1 2024, 09:50 AM)
I did some research on this:

just like A-to-Lightning before, A-to-C is limited to 7.5W. This is because Apple implemented the USB Battery Charging (BC) 1.2 spec, which is limited to 7.5W.

Then from iPhone X onwards, Apple started to also implement the USB Power Delivery (PD) 3.0 spec. even though the PD 3.0 spec supports higher (up to 100W), Apple has set the max charge rate at 27W
*
Thank you for this info. In this case A to C cable has the same speed as Qi wireless charger. I think I might still get a usb a to c cable just to use my old charging infrastructure sometimes.
One thing though, I don't find any MFI cable for usb a to c.

What cable do you use for the 10w charger? Does it actually charge at 10w or limit by BCM to 7.5w?

If budget not a problem then can wait. If you want to get iPhone with good discounts just go for 15 Pro Max. Never in the history to have huge discount like now.

RRP is 7499 if not mistaken. If you really want to hunt for more discount wait for shopee sale like 4/4 5/5 6/6 etc.

Hope you will enjoy the new iPhone. Extra year warranty is always good, no need to think of buying Apple care.

Anyone here actually bought AppleCare+ on their new phones? Almost pass the 60 days and wondering if I should add it in
*
Imo the only major benefit is accidental protection and express replacement. Good for someone who is clumsy and possibility having their device screen crack etc. Battery replacement unlikely within 2 years, but even then it is still cheaper to pay for new battery as compared to buying Apple Care.
If you feel you need the insurance for your device then go for it, but otherwise don't bother.

Hi everyone, over the past day or two, I've been having issues with my iPhone 15 Pro; apps are constantly crashing. I've attempted to restart the phone, but it takes an unusually long time to reboot. I have to connect it to a charger and wait for it to power on by itself. Additionally, my photo app seems to be continuously restoring from iCloud. Is anyone else encountering this problem? I've made sure my iOS is up to date, and my battery health is still at 100%.
*
Try to backup and then restore.

Thanks all, I appreciate your advice. It looks like I'll need to schedule a visit to the service center. This morning, out of nowhere, my phone's screen went black while I was using it as usual (and it was fully charged). I can't seem to turn it back on now.
Last night, my photo app started crashing unexpectedly when I opened it. For a while, it displayed no pictures at all, and then later, it began showing that it was restoring photos from iCloud with some of the recent pictures. Also, my phone wasn't overheating at that time.
*
Looks like hardware problem, but this is the last thing you can try before bringing it to service centre. Just hope that it work.

Press and quickly release the volume up button.
Press and quickly release the volume down button.
Press and hold the side button.
When the Apple logo appears, release the side button.

I've been using it smoothly since last October, but in the past day or two, this problem has emerged. Although my phone's settings indicate it's running the latest iOS version, when I connected it to iTunes for a backup earlier, iTunes displayed a message saying a new iOS update was available, which is supposedly the same version my phone already has.  rclxub.gif

That is the re-release of iOS 17.4.1 which can only be update using PC.

At first I wonder how you get that long battery life, then I realise not using social media indeed is a large saver for your battery.
