So I just kena this. Turned on phone to get TAC code for online ticket purchase.

Suddenly received voicemail SMS from random call. Then got SMS from Maxis saying I’ve activated this 1-day pass.

Any way to dispute and get refund/waiver? T&C wasn’t clear that voicemail is considered voice call.

FYI data roaming is off already. Phone just turned on for TAC.

Even u dont turn on the phone. The voicemail thing still active at the back, unless u disable the voicemail.

I had been charged like rm60 for both trips on june and august. I just suen lah. Just paid and dunwan bising lah. I am lazy. But i think u can try to ask maxis

How to disable the voicemail settings? In maxis app or must go to centre?

im in uk now for a month already, free roaming internet and free unlimited incoming calls with umobile.

wifi calling works overseas too, so got unlimited calling out also if got wifi

Yes correct, calls are free and unlimited

I didn’t use the umobile as main sim, but secondary sim in the UK and I didn’t even use 300mb a month

If you using only umobile it might not be enough, and if you go over 15gb you’ll be charged 36 a day

receive sms will trigger this charges also ?

check back sms, when i had a sms regarding i have a  missed call, then i was being charged this 1 day unlimited calls and sms

I mean sending out. Receiving is always free

Recently i got charged RM3 for this in SG - i remembered i just turned on the phone just to receive SMS, didn't turn on data roaming  and voicemail still disabled. WTH Maxis?

So do they start charging people to receive international SMS now? As nowdays i don't even bother to use Maxis data roaming packages, just go to Airalo / Nomad for short term roaming

Yes it sucks coz receiving missed calls and entered into voicemail is consider roaming, even if u did not retrieve voicemail at that time lel.

Either off roaming or off voicemail can already.
Who still uses voicemail nowadays?

Voice mail is a way Maxis can scam you for money.
