Wake up tiba-tiba SMS from Digi said subscribe 0.5GB and unlimited calls for 30 days and deduct 5 from prepaid value. (I have checked and the value has been deducted)
Ini macam boleh ke? Not main line.. backup line with prepaid.
You guys kena before?

RM 5.00 has been deducted for your RM5 for 0.5GB + Unlimited Calls (30 days) subscription

Should I
A. change operator.
B. go Digi shop protest.
C. report MCMC with screenshot and all evidence to show dominance.

Is this even right? Can they do that by auto subscribe first and then ask us response if not interested? How do I even know it's not a scam message?

UPDATE :
The refund came but... it s a 'RM5 worth of FREE credits promo' that expire in a month's time. I am not gonna be using the RM5 within this month in the first place.
I want the money back not some FREE credits Promo.
Imagine if your bank refund your wrongly deducted RM100 with coupons BUT put an expiry date on your coupons in 30 days.

UPDATE :

The refunds are useless... I want the money value back, not some FREE Credits Promo which has an expiry date in 1 months time! Digi seems to be hard headed on keeping the RM 5 and hope no one uses it or wait for it to expire.
It's like stealing your money and give you back coupon that expires in 30 days. It's not the same Digi...

UPDATE 27 Aug at around 7pm.

Confirm .. I just checked, DiGi managed to give back the original RM5 value. No SMS message or indicator.. just check the value in the Digi app.
The coupon is gone.
Thank you but why didn't DiGi do it earlier instead of resorted to the coupon with expiry in the first place? Hmm... anyway case close.

Yes. RM5 may not look like a lot per person, but the total will be hugh.

This is FRAUD 100%, no if or but.

I filed an online enquiry with Digi. See if they reply within 48 hours.

To Digi, if you are reading this thread, let me repeat again: "Silence is NOT consent". Get your lawyer to give you a lesson in Contract Law.

I think long ago, few years back I also have similar issue with Maxis.
Called maxis customer service, they say I subscribe to that stuff and need me to unsubscribe to stop the deduction. The problem is I never subscribe to anything. Bugimak betul, cause I never check for a few months.

Yup.. they are probably hoping for that to happen. Those with prepaid values.. they slowly deduct here and there and eventually no more value left and have to reload again. Aii... business tactics nowadays. Good thing I actually keep on eye of expenses and values.

I don't have the SMS for opt out too but yet get deducted RM5 by them. Imagining this is a Bank send SMS and ask for full amount of your bank account donation and required for opt-out. See what will happen later.

I just found out I got subscribed to it too.

I read the sms yet thought the Not Interested? part was just for checking out alternative offers.

Someone at Digi needs to be fired over this behaviour.

They not actually refunding it instead use another tactic to return using RM5 Free credit promotion with expired date which I don't even use. I don't even need the free package anyway since this line seldom use. I already filed a complaint directly to MCMC.

The refunds are useless... I want the money value back, not some FREE Credits Promo which has an expiry date in 1 months time! Digi seems to be hard headed on keeping the RM 5 and hope no one uses it or wait for it to expire.
It's like stealing your money and give you back coupon that expires in 30 days. It's not the same Digi...

First scam, take RM5 using auto deduct. Now my long term balance (valid till 2023) less RM5. Second scam - They refund RM5 but it expires in 30 days. My long term balance kena sapu. Now have to waste time raising the issue with digi. Everyone pls dump digi.

I don't accept your solution. After deducting RM5 without my authorization, you are returning it with conditions (30 days validity). Please cancel the unauthorized subscription, delete the alleged freebie and adjust my real credit balance by RM5. Thank you.

Are you safe if they don't simply charge you without your consent whether you received that sms or not. My case I didn't have that SMS either yet get charged for no reason.

5-digit shortcode starting with "2" are reserved for telco use. i think banks as well. It's MCMC numbering plan, but i can't find the web resource hosted on MCMC right now.

"3" is for content partner.

So don't simply dismiss "2" as coming from scammer.
While "3" is as long as you have money to pay CP to send out.

Source definitely coming from telco, verified source, but the SMS content .... can be abusive like this digi lah.

I recommend everyone opt out of marketing communications from DiGi. In the MyDiGi app, go to Settings > Communications, and toggle off both options.

CLIRestriction only works on own network; if you call someone not on your own telco, number is displayed still. Not sure whether it still does not work across network today.

I think CLIPresentation was already too popular by the time gomen cancelled access fee RM60/mth, and slowly all telco made it part of basic offering.

Yeah, new gen got it easy and "free".

I guess this should be a lesson for the rest of the telco who wants to try this in the coming future.
There will always be monitors of unfair practices.

Economy might be bad nowadays but that does not give one the leeway to pursue profit unfairly from consumers.

About 10years ago, the first time I subscribe to Maxshit postpaid line with 3G data, the second month the auto upgrade my line to the top most expensive line, when I walkin to the klcc service center and make complaint, the customer service staff are rude and not helpful at all, shift the blame to me. After like 1 month+ of investigation, they finally revert back to my original plan and credit back the excess payment

So far I got mine back on Sat 27th Aug, the actual value of the RM5, not the FREE credits. Meanwhile, the plans remains and shown in the app main screen but I am not touching it. Lets just hope it doesn't auto renew next month. It's not present as an item in the "My Subscriptions" in the app.

2 years back my prepaid account got charged for Gameloft service which I don't subscribe. Report to MCMC and I get back exactly same amount of credits back(there is fee charge for credits transfer but it seem like MCMC absorb the cost?)

MCMC will nvr absorb most likely they force ur telco to absorb but if telelco reimburse where got fee for transfer

Got la CreditShare will charge 0.50 to transfer for another acc.
If Gameloft need to pay then padan muka. Hope got fined by MCMC too. This Digi must be get warned by MCMC too so that's why pull back the promo with expiry date lol

Now I think back in 2009-2010 I got same thing happened too but too bad I never get my credits back that time.

Wow.. I also kena that day but just came kopitiam to see this, i also baru know ada culprit from weird service number.
I did live chat and get back my "free credit" at first, but in the end become rm again.
